My mother had a B&B in an 1865 house. Ottoman Suites dates from ~1875, and I felt immediately at home. The Sera House Cafe is a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. Location is surprisingly convenient for accessing the rest of the city via bus (12a), ferry, tram, and Marmaray, making it a good base of operations. Gulsah is a gracious host who pays attention to even the smallest details, such as an "emergency box" and a scale next to the front door.

Beautiful home, amazing staff, excellent cafe. Great property and clean rooms.
Minor issue with hot/ cold taps reversed in the shower and the ac unit was noisy.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The area is relative quiet but has good public transport connections to anywhere in Istanbul.
Having to leave.

It is a beautiful building with a lot of history. As it used to be home to a family, it offers homely environment and warm feeling. Everything seems to be maintained well. It has an amazing garden and its location is great. Even tough it is located on the Asian side, traveling to European side is very easy as it is close to the bridge, seaside, bus stops and boat stations. Friendly staff, lovely cats in the garden and tasty breakfast! Check, check and check..
As it is an old building, you sometimes hear people staying on the upper floor walk but it is not too disturbing.

Like visiting a friend’s house.
My driver and I were very confused by what to do on arrival! But we were quickly met after he spoke to the manager on my phone in Turkish.
When I left there were some rather vicious dogs that almost attacked me and the driver, but that is more a city problem and not the hotel’s. I mean they attacked the van! Luckily we were inside and driving away.

We really liked a breakfast, calm district and a very comfortable room.
We don't like this type of living. We need more space.

The property itself was absolutely beautiful and all the amazing detail inside and the way it was decorated was very pretty and cozy I almost felt like I was staying at home. All the staff where absolutely lovely and so kind, the host Gulsak was such an amazing woman as I came here for surgery and she always made sure I was okay.

The hosts were great, extremely accommodating and very nice in general! They have this great little booklet that explains exactly which bus, train or tram to take to get to all the sights and attractions which was great as we were first time travelers to Istanbul. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was big and plentiful.

Wonderfull design in the room, everything was very comfortable. My room was at the upper floor, that's why it was very quiet. There is a balcony in the room, that's great plus. But if you have lugguage, it needs to pick up upstairs .
Everything is fine, but it could be better if in the restaurant will be somebody speaking English.

Sera house is a great place to stay in Istanbul. Tasty breakfast and beautiful house. We are really enjoyed our time here.
You can hear the mosque in the early morning, but it's an Istanbul vibe)

Beautiful historical place, it's really recommended to stay there to have a different experience in Istanbul. very helpful and friendly staff. Well connected with bus to the ferry/metro station.
Breakfast starts at 9, could be a bit late for early risers.
Location is well connected and in a quite area, could be a bit out of reach for those who are interested only in the main touristic parts of Istanbul

Breakfast was excellent , fresh and tasty.
Decoration of the entire hotel and the cafe was especially good !
I ‘d be glad if there was someone to help me to carry my luggage to my room when I check in & out .

The nice old typical ottoman house, the neighborhood, the very helpful owners and staff 🙂
I appreciated the notes made by the owner about the public transport and places to visit nearby.
Thank you Gulsah also for the prompt reply anytime I needed something.🤗
I couldn't benefit of breakfast although it was included in the price of the room. The breakfast starts at 9 which is quite late especially for the ones travelling for business.
The owner and staff were kind to prepare for me a sandwich in the evening for the next morning but this doesn't compare with a warm breakfast.
Another aspect would be that the windows and the door do not offer thermic insulation. The night was chilly as if I was sleeping with the windows open. I now it's an old house but I would recommend to the owners to somehow isolate the windows and doors.
All in all is a nice house and I enjoyed my stay here.

The house and its interior design is historical, looks/feels really authentic, a lot of gorgeous details. The room is sufficiently spacious and comfortable, and has kettle and tea cups, and water and candy. Staircase/corridor is also provided with comfortable chairs and table (in case of early arrival, for instance, it is a nice place to sit). Breakfast is in the garden-café where inside or outside table can be chosen.
Internet often poor, in most evenings it even died entierly and working was impossible. Didn't understand at what time breakfast was to start (once went there around 8:30 and for nearly half an hour no-one served me, staff was busy with cleaning).
