Staff was very friendly. The lobby and rooms clean . Convient to shops

When we pulled up to the property we seen two cars were broken into and the property didn’t really seem to have empathy that this happened on their property. I wouldn’t recommend staying here for safety reasons and also they charged my credit card for unnecessary fees that I shouldn’t have been. They chose to not wash towels claiming we had red substance on them and it was probably make up, they were not gonna try to wash them and I think that’s very unfair just to get a charge. Also they claim it was drug paraphernalia in my room which it wasn’t because it was a smoke free room n I’m allergic to smoke. No one in my room smoked in there. They charged a smoking fee and I’ll be disputing it.

Pros:
The stay we good. Check in was quick. The lady at check in was friendly and nice. Room service was great. Room was very clean no issue.
Cons: 1 elevator ..hotel was busy with two events. If you didn’t catch it you have to catch the next one. Another thing power went out don’t know why. But it wasn’t weather or nearby construction it was just out for a few hours. No apologies

All was great with my stay!!! The only issue was that there was only one washer and one dryer for the whole hotel. And that one washer was not working during my stay! Also, the breakfast buffet was extremely expensive! But the staff at the front desk and the housekeeping staff were superb!!!

mildew smelling room, bugs, a used floss on the floor, stiff beds

I was impressed with the neatness of the hotel and the huge size of the place. The front desk service was excellent an the hotel was quiet.
I had the misfortune of having to change my room because someone had smoked in it. However, I was quickly given another room. I have to wonder if the cleaning service reports when someone has smoked in the room.
Once I received another room, my stay was excellent. I enjoyed the rest so much that I asked if my room was reserved after me. The woman kindly checked and told me it was. She might have offered me another room since I seemed interested in staying another night, but she didn't suggest. I am considering using this location more often as a staycation.

Loved the hotel and great service. Excellent breakfast.
Only regret no recycling.

The problem was the AC/heat unit! So incredibly loud I thought it would explode, all night, couldn’t watch TV or talk on the phone with it on, too hot with it off

It was was an average stay. Place was clean, but it took 3 trips back and forth to get room key working in which then resulted with a different room. Toilet would not flush and that was unpleasant.

My flight was delayed and I didn’t arrive until the next day and spent one night. I did appreciate that my room was still available at a reasonably higher rate and the service I received at the reception by Michelle (I believe) was exceptional. I did have an issue with the cleanliness of my room and it also had an odor that lingered during my stay

The shower was pretty, but difficult to access the controls without getting splashed with cold water because the door was not on the same side as the controls. The bed was clean, but not as comfortable as I would like. Room service did not replace the bath mat on the second day, nor did they refresh the coffee supplies (only two cups supplied one of which was decaf and this unusable). Outside the hotel was kind of dirty. Overall it was an okay hotel, and you could purchase nice extras like ice cream (at a premium) in the lobby. I have certainly been in far worse, but this was not the best

Do not stay on a low floor, they’re completely mold infested and the rooms smell unbearably. They did move us to the top floor which was livable but still very old and dirty.
They have a conference area that was busy with events and took up all of the parking so that you have to park across the street in the IKEA parking lot. They ought to make parking passes and guarantee a space for guests.

They originally gave us a room that was already occupied when we entered it. Very disturbing.
In addition there was an event at the hotel that night and when we got back from dinner there was no where to park our car. They were not helpful at all with a solution. Told us “I don’t know what you want us to do about it”.

The location was the most important for us because of the 20 mins away from Northwestern Stadium

Comfortable place. Paid breakfast was nice. The staff was courteous and friendly. AC was quiet, but confusing to get to. We kept trying to lower the temperature on the digital thermostat on the wall without success. Then we realized that the AC could be controlled directly by controls on the unit. Gym was adequate — it had free weights and treadmills. Overall a pleasant stay. We would go again.

We recently stayed at this hotel for a week and had a mixed experience. The front desk staff was nice and accommodating, which I appreciated. The location is convenient However, the facilities are quite outdated.
For the first two days, we stayed in room 1204, which is above the front desk. The noise from the parking lot below was easily heard, and the air conditioning was a bit loud. After I complained, we were moved to room 1415 on the 4th floor. It was much quieter, but we encountered several issues: the bathroom drain was clogged, the outlet next to the sofa didn’t work, and the refrigerator was broken. The front desk staff moved us again to room 1419. While this room was better, the two outlets on the desk didn’t work, and the bathroom door didn’t close properly.

This most recent stay was better. After the horrible stay with one room having bugs, another room with a broken toilet flusher, the staff moved me to Tower 1, it looks like their still renovating that part with the painting carts and etc. The room was a bit more modern, a bit too big for one person but nothing wrong with more space, I didn't have difficulty opening the door like with the other 2 rooms in my previous reservation, I had absolutely no problems with the room given. I slept like a baby. Nothing was broken and no creepy crawlies. This is what I expect from the Holiday Inn or any establishment, clean and functional,
bare minimum. I can't give it a perfect score because:
1. I had to make 2 different reservations to extend my stay
2. My horrible initial stay that hurt my view on the Holiday Inn
I cannot personally recommend this specific branch because of that. The guarantee you will get the bare minimum when it comes to a room is murky, unless you're very lucky.
However, the amenities are good and it's convenient there's a restaurant/bar on the lobby level.
Not too many late night options in terms of food in the area itself, there's a denny's about 10 minutes away by car, a Buffalo Wild Wings that's a 3 minute walk though I can't recommend them personally either.
In short, my stay this time was good. I just wished it was consistently good from the start

Had to request a different room. Room 1103 must have flooded at some point because it smells of mildew and the door is water damaged and near impossible to open/close.
Room 1125 smelled better upon entering however I stepped in soaking wet carpet in front of the fridge. I went to front desk to get more towels to soak it up. What soaked up turned the white towel black black.
Also, found a dirty man’s black Hanes sock between the nightstand and window.
Tyray offered a breakfast voucher but wasn’t planning on being there to eat. He said he would add some IHG reward points but I do not see them on my account.

Because our daughter attends college in Washington DC, we stay overnight there a few times a year. Although we have tried a few hotels (some chains, some not), we like the Holiday Inn for its consistent cleanliness, service, and the included breakfast.

I had quite the terrible night last night. I was in Tower 2 on the 3rd floor.
I couldn't even open the door! Ypu could hear the lock unlock after using the keycard but the door was stuck. Fortunately, housekeeping was there. The lady had use strength a jiggle the handle to get it open. After that it was okay from the outside, inside had to use a bit of force.
2nd thing was BUGS! I saw a small brown fast moving bug on the made bed as I was getting ready to sleep. I tried to kill it because I didn't know what it was. Then I had found ANOTHER one on the night stand opposite after a few minutes. It crawled into the drawer and I opened the draw to take a picture, it was gone. I had to call the front desk around 12 or 1 AM to ask for another room. Fortunately there was a room available, same tower but the 4th floor.
THE DOOR AGAIN, different foor but the door was hard to open again, same issue. After throwing finessing the handle and using my body weight it opened.
The fourth floor room had no bugs, thank the Lord, however, THE FLUSHER FOR THE TOILET WAS LOOSE.
You could not flush the toilet normally, you had to jiggle it. I called the front desk to let them know, because I only discovered it when I had to relieve myself. I was too tired and too stressed, I decided to settle on it for the rest of the day but it was a very poor stay.
The staff tried their best to right the situation with a different room and points (I am an igh member).

Very clean hotel. Room was very cozy, bed was comfortable, and shower pressure was great! Couple of downsides were: one elevator was out so we had to either take the stairs or walk to the other end of a long hall to the other elevator; breakfast was $17.99 for what appeared to be a typical continental breakfast.

We arrived late, so we were put in a different room than we booked. Which was fine. We were told we'd be in a quieter area of the hotel. Not sure what that meant because for 3 nights all we heard was slamming doors, yelling, loud talking & kids playing in hall after 1AM. Also ciggerette smell and ashes all in hall. Didn't complain since I guess that's what I get for booking a hotel at such a bargain price. Room was pretty good. Carpet sorta dingy, cleaned ashes off bathroom counter and toilet when we checked in. I always carry bleach wipes.

The staff were very nice and professional. Only 1 young man handling a busy bar/restaurant evening we arrived. Was gracious no matter what.
On top of room rate breakfast was $17 per person (same buffet as most free ones)
Our rooms were empty of supplies, linens didn't seem to be clean and pillows smelled funny.
We left feeling ill due to air filtration systems outside our rooms which had pools of water on the roof. A/C was hard to regulate.
Expedia had also screwed up our reservation and we had called before we left home but at the front desk get it straightened out. Staff was great about it and we got a better rate!
Location is right off I-495 with IKEA and WaWa convenience store (gas station).
3.0 / 5.0
The area was very convenient to the ikea and a Wawa convenience store but the road noise was very noticeable. Front desk staff was nice but there was some trash around the building including a tv thrown out on the sidewalk (it was cleaned up overnight). The bed was very comfortable. It was a fine place for one night.
