Generally, there's nothing to brag about. The worst part was the poor quality of all the soft drinks, including juices and coffee.

Had a lovely one night stay at The Fergus. Have absolutely no complaints, but have had better breakfasts. Beautiful view from our balcony

We had a great time at this property. It's location is ideal, only a 10-minute walk from the restaurants of Puerto de la Cruz.

In my opinion fergus has many issues to address
My room 101 was old and tired yes it had been painted but that was all
The outlook was awful ...facing big red pipes...steps..and never got the sun .....never sat on it once !
The room above the loading bay so noisey mornings .
The bathroom had issues for me ...the height of the towel rail ....no hooks to hang towels on ...there was a dividing wall from the sink to the shower and could not get to the bath plug without standing in the bath .
Toiletries could not be reached when in the bath as very very high up ....same as the shower .
Positives a nice sleep comfy bed and pillows ....plus a mini fridge .
Cleaners very good
The pool on ground floor does not facilitate the capacity of the hotel ....pool size ....1 toilet and shower for each sex !!! Plus not enough sunbeds ....the usual running on a morning with a towel to secure a bed yet there are leaflets put on each bed saying only 40 minutes empty !! No one seemed to take notice of this what so ever!!!!! Out of 9 days i managed a bed three times and that was because i went late afternoon .
The top pool was lovely for swimming but like climbing mount everest to get there .
I counted only 12 beds plus a double canopy bed ....people were laid on the floor on their towels ! The drinks bar was not open ......so you had to walk up and down mount everest if you wanted a drink ! Positive a good swim pool ...quiet ...and personal space.
The dining room was large and always a seat to

A really clean and beautiful hotel, good service and facilities. Only negative we picked up was the variation of the buffet, not that much variation otherwise really good.

Have stayed at this hotel many times and have never been disappointed. The staff try do all they can to make your stay what you would hope for. Looking forward to our next visit to Puerto and staying here at this hotel.

Good hotel BUT not for the 4 star:
- they have no respect for the disabled people. When I kindly asked to provide facility I've got reply neither in English nor in Spanish - anyway it did not make any sense. They didn't bother to clarify
- beware of SCAM. Having HB give you access to the kitchen but not everything is included there. There was no sign that it's necessary to pay for fanta. Be careful if they going to charge you for the napkins or oxygen you breath
- Don't bother with "sea view" rooms - you'll see a sea of roofs below you
- _ALL_ single rooms are on the top floor

Best part for me was it had a car park. Very rare over here.

Staffs are very helpful and friendly, food is also good. Did not like trying for long time to open my door.

Few staff really helpful and nice, some not and not easy to communicate too, swimming pool area clean, rooms were nice but a bit dusty and had a broken storage unit, food was decent but had a wide choice of variety to pick which was excellent, inside looks lovely but outside of hotel building needs some colour, some love to it, looks like a run down secondary school, enjoyed my stay tho beds were comfy, shower room really nice

We thourely enjoyed our stay here. We had new year at the hotel and they went all out. We loved it here

I booked with half-board, and while the food was generally quite good, I was a little surprised to have to pay for any beverages at dinner, including water. The hotel itself was lovely with two pools, and the room was comfortable. It is on a large hill, do returning from the main downtown area is a big climb. WiFi was a bit spotty on the 7th floor, and TV had limited English channels. All in all, I would stay again.

The hotel is located on a hill with great views from the top level to the sea and on the other side the mountain. Steep walk to the town center. However the hotel offers free of charge a bus shuttle service. The hotel has two pools. But pool towels are require a deposit. Use of a Safe, Kettle and mini fridge are also chargeable.

Couldn't fault anything, staff, food cleanliness, all great
Tip, ask for a room with pool or sea view

The hotel was well located near to the centre. A little dated, but comfortable and good value for money. Car parking is problematic with very few spaces in an underground car park with very tight spaces. The food offering was plentiful and varied.

Not recommended if you dont like hills rooms dated no english channels food no where near 4*cater mainly for germans lovely out door seating area

Beware - the hotel is only suitable for ablebodied guests! I survived for two weeks only because I had hire car. Without one, I would have been stuck at the hotel - Puerto de la Cruz is very hilly!
Parking brought its own problems and was incredibly stressful. The hotel only has two disabled parking spaces in an underground car park that was difficult to access. They really should have direct access to the hotel via a lift, rather than expecting disabled guests to walk up a steep ramp out of the car park, and then another steep hill up to the hotel. It was horrendous!
Another big disappointment was the pool. It was freezing! Why not install solar panels to heat the water? The hotel needs serious funding to modernise it and make it more comfortable for guests.
One more thing: this hotel is not suitabe for asthmatic guests. If there is a rule for smoking on the balconies, it is not enforced properly. I was unable to use my own balcony or leave the door open because guests on either side smoked.
In a hotel with no air conditioning, this is a serious problem. I really wanted to leave my door open at night but couldn't. I reported this to the reception staff three times but was totally ignored.
This hotel caters chiefly to tour groups (mostly German) and a solo travellers tend to get ignored.
I expected better.

Terrible experience. They harassed me for few hours to prove that I paid Expedia.
They say “we got the message from Expedia but we want to make sure you paid anyway because of beurocratic process” I showed them the email receipt, emailed it to them 6 times, they kept calling my room and pushing notes under my door saying “we also want voucher, can you give us more proof?”
When I told them to stop calling me at midnight because I paid and emailed receipt to manager they said “manager is not here but we need a proof”
The experience was similar to talking to a wall. Seems like they are not ready to work with Expedia...
The receptionist said “yes, it’s problem for old people to send us email proof if they don’t have smart phone we let them use our computer to login to their email and prove they paid. We prefer to work with travel companies that have real offices and give real paper vouchers to people”
So beware! If you book on Expedia you’re going to spend 3-4 hours trying to prove the hotel that you actually paid! Crazy!

Good hotel, although I would expect a bit more luxury from a four star.Staff were very nice. On our very late arrival, they had prepared some food for us, which was a pleasant surprise. There was no free parking at the hotel. You had to pay extra if you wanted a fridge in your room or to use the safe, which feels a bit like booking with a low-cost airline.

A lovely hotel in a good location not too far from the centre of town and the many bars and restaurants. It was also easy enough to get to other parts of the island such as Mt Teide. The hotel is clean and of a high standard. Breakfast was good and offered many options for all types of palette. The swimming pools are great practical as well as fun and the facilities poolside were also lovely and good value even if like us you were not all inclusive. My only slight criticism was the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room and the fact it wasnt complimentary at any time other than breakfast or for all inclusive.

Disappointing meat and fish dishes in restaurant. Excellent salads.

Took quite some time to actually get booked into the hotel. Staff rather slow, however this may have been due to new staff member. Balconies are very close together and one of my children climbed over to next door (where his brother was staying in the middle of the night) very very scary! Woke up to find him missing and door firmly locked...I was screaming out his name and finally his head popped over the next doors balcony. OMG I've aged a decade. Please be aware if taking young children.

This is a lovely hotel in a good area of Puerto de la Cruz. Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. They greeted us with champagne as we checked in. One evening there was a lovely reception with appetizers. For those who wish a less crowded pool atmosphere, there's a second pool up the lovely stone steps on another level. We were on the breakfast plan and breakfast was very good, all except the coffee which came from a machine and was not very good. The bed was comfortable, our sea view lovely as well as our view Telde. We would have liked more easy to use plug ins in the room. The one beside the bed would have been great, but our adapter would not stay tight enough in it so we could not use it. Overall, a lovely place to stay.

This hotel is certainly value for money, very good breakfast choices and spotlessly clean. I would like to have had tea and coffee facilities in the room but it will not distract me from giving it a 9.99 out of 10.

A very pleasant holiday with the weather around 27 to 28 degrees cooing to about 22 in the evenings so still warm enough to sit outside and eat.

We loved the hotel and the room was perfect it was our honeymoon so they gave us a free bottle of champers.
All was great however, reception staff on the whole (not all) we're not very receptive to us, we felt like British tourists were 2nd class citizens to them. For example we needed our return shuttle time confirming so we asked the guy on reception to do this for us. He instead of ringing them sent us off to find the office down the street, leaving us to deal with a confused member of staff who couldn't understand why we didn't just ring them rather than traipsing down there to them. We were equally confused by the situation, couldn't understand why he couldn't just have made the 5 minute call to them for us.
Having said that the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The lifeguard always got us our umbrella and put it up for us, little things like that made our stay, on the whole, enjoyable.

Decent hotel with really clean and functional room.
Big breakfast buffet.
Close enough to the city centre.
But, I had an issue with the person at the reception about my payment.
They asked me to pay at the reception while the payment was already done.
The person insisted saying that they never receive payment with expedia and that I just did the booking.
Confused, I payed. After checking my bank account, I went back to the reception. They apologised and immediately cancelled the transaction.
Also, the hotel is quite busy and the hotel can be a bit noisy in the morning.

asked why air conditioning is turned off at night and hotel tell said it was normal. 01:30 till 15:30 no air conditioning, but room was boiling even with door open. Strange thing on last day when the hotel had a lot of guests from either Spain or Germany the air conditioning was on all night.
Hotel staff very friendly. English not bad, 1 or 2 staff very good English.

I had an enjoyable time during my entire holidays, the hotel provided excellent food, good shows every day, the staff were very attentive, with beautiful views to the sea.

We found this hotel to be clean and friendly. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and of good quality. We only ate in the evening on two occasions. The evening meal is a buffet at a reasonable cost and with a varied selection of good quality food. We ventured out of the hotel on most evenings for our food and were not disappointed by the number and quality of the restaurants in the area. Most of the restaurants are a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel and offer a range of food from traditional Canarian to Italian. The hotel is very popular with Germans. We were two of only a handful of British in the hotel. And it's true that the Germans were always out at the pool early in the morning to put their towels on the sun-loungers. The pool area is limited and competition for sun-loungers in the busy season is fierce. That didn't bother us since we had a hire car and took advatage of some of the magnificent beaches on the island. A word of warning if you have a car. The hotel says that it has on site parking which is true but space is very limited and even at Easter we found the garage to be full most days. Street parking in the vicinity is in great demand and we often found ourselves parking up to 1/2 a mile from the hotel. If you intend to hire a car I wouldn't recommend using this hotel in the busy season. Apart from the parking issues (and the abundance of Germans) we found this hotel very good and was an excellent base for exploring the island.
