Very poor service, staff not helpful for advice on where to eat and ordering of water taxi.

We arrived yesterday to the hotel and were notified that the air conditioning was not working and we could try to find somewhere else to stay. We could not find anywhere else to stay so we checked in. Our room on the third floor had the window open with one small fan on. The air conditioner had no cover on it and wires exposed. The room was 80-90 degrees with severe humidity. To add to the issue, there were ants all over the bathroom sink, floor, and even on the bed.

NO A/C - everything said it had A/C but when we got there there wasnt any only a hole in the the wall.

Nice location, rooms very small and quite smelly

Top location in the centre

Service was lovely but no air con in hot May in Venice which wasn’t great at all in a tiny room for 3 people. There were also barely any plugs in the room. Great location and friendly staff but needs an update to the interior

Good, quiet location. Rooms are a perfect size for two people. However, I reserved two single beds and ended up with one queen size, but we made it work.

This hotel is bad. Really lousy. I regret ignoring the negative comments about this hotel. In addition to what others have said, I was given the wrong room. I booked a 183 square foot room but was given a 118 square foot room. When asked for what I booked, the front desk said we do not have another room and that the marketing department did that.

The hotel can only be described as decaying grandeur. Clean and served the purpose for a brief 2 night stay. Bed was comfy but be prepared for an outdated decor and broken air con, although it was winter when we stay so not a problem. Quirky and we enjoyed our time in Venice but wouldn’t choose to stay in this hotel again. In its day, sure it was very grand and it still has a huge amount of charm but needs updating.

Great location to everything
Room was small and bathroom smaller

I felt like I went back in time with the theme of the hotel. It was nice. I absolutely loved the location! There were a lot of great restaurants minutes away and it was easy to het around to the touristy areas.

Clean place, friendly staff. My room tiny and dated (why it was relatively cheap). Had decent AC in my room. Couldn't figure out TV! Had staff to explain it. Traveling alone, so size was ok, not sure couples offered my room, but too small for two. No elevator (like so many older Venice places). Not super great location, but walk to San Marco sqr not bad, and useful stuff in immediate area (resteraunts, convenience shop, Italian fast food place, misc other shops.

Easy check in, simple accomodation for exactly what I needed it for. Comfortable and typical venice decor and style. A little overpriced but then it was over the film festival so to be expected.

Pictures of rooms are very misleading. Room was not as advertised. No air conditioning just two fans on each side of the bed. Very low water pressure in bathroom sink and could never get hot water in shower for our entire stay. Full bed was two twins held together with a sheet. Kept separating during the night. When I spoke to front desk I received a shrug of the shoulders and was told there were no more available rooms. Not any concern from them. If you’re looking for someplace to just try to sleep this is it. Only positive is it’s very easy to access shops and restaurants. Do your research before you decide where to stay.

Safe and quiet area, the staff was kind & helpful - the place: clean & tidy, all at a fair price.

The room in the second floor was without air conditioning.
We asked the front desk person and he said it is not working and there is a fan to use. Then we asked him to change the room he said there is no other room.
We couldn’t sleep the night and checked out in the morning
The room was very hot with the small old fan
It was a bad experience and waste of money

Stay away, unclean, dated old facilities, no air conditioning!! I would definitely avoid and urge others to do so. Room was stuffy and when opening the windows it was right beside a dead end canal that smelled of sewage. Does not look at all like the pictures…well maybe 20 years ago. The location was great and that was the only good point. It’s a hotel, but couldn’t even get ice for drinks.

Room was very small but quaint. Staff was terrific in helping with all our needs.
6.0 / 10.0
The positives: it’s a well located classic Venetian building. Easy to walk around the main sights of the city centre. Near shops, bars and restaurants. Our room was generous and the bathroom seemed to be much newer than the rest of the room. The shower in particular was good (and refreshing given the heat). All staff we met seemed friendly.
The negatives: the hotel has an air of Fawlty Towers, everything is just slightly faded and/or falling apart. The handle was barely on the window which meant opening and closing it very difficult, many rooms face the canal so attract mosquitos at night and the aircon barely made any difference to the temperature so it was stiflingly hot overnight.
Overall, it’s good value for the location. But I think that’s reflective of what you get.

The room was very beautiful. The nearest waterbus stop was under 300 meters from the hotel.

Has NO Elevator !! The front desk people are so in bad mud !! Far from Nice !!!

Room extremely hot….only way to cool down, which was suggested from staff was to open windows. Mosquitoes bites killed us….
Would not recommend staying in room 28

Mosquitos, cigarette smoke, no air conditioning and very small rooms.

There insects like formica etc. mold in the bathroom.
3.0 / 10.0
Other than the location and the friendly staff, I would not recommend the place. The bed is not comfortable and the bathroom is extremely small with moulds on the walls. It's also right next to a sewage outlet with unpleasant smell.

Great location and very helpful staff explaining the island .

Great welcoming and good service. Very well located. Rooms are tiny not recommended for family but couple. Breakfast was missing coffee. Rooms has one key that needs to be used to lock the door from the inside. Hence, all guest needs to leave or enter together at the same time

If you are looking for hotel to dump your stuff and run and explore the city this is the perfect one. Comfy bed clean room great shower small window air-conditioning no tea and coffee facilities only problem. Variety for breakfastClose to the city centre, no need for expensive taxis . I paid €52 for my room with breakfast included I wouldn’t want to have paid more than €70. But I got excellent value for my money. All in all I had a very positive experience.

Double room and bathroom are very small but for two young backpackers it was good enough. Breakfast has limited options but was good. They have a luggage storage room which is very convienent.

The hotel rep refused to let us check in, because he said it's not showing as paid in his system. It showed paid for me on the app. He could have called. Instead I called and he waited to answer the phone. Was very rude. We only needed the room for 2 hours! After he talks to the hotels.com rep, he acted like everything was normal. No, you are not getting my money after treating me that way! I ended up getting a voucher and waiting outside at the water bus stop.

Had a fabulous time in Venice and the stay at San Giorgio hotel made it even better . Loved the room and old world charm of the building . Staff at front desk was fantastic . Check in and check out were a breeze . Breakfast was ok , no hot food ,but enough choices to get you started for the day . Was a little hard to find the place when we first got off the water bus , but I think all of Venice is like that for a first time visitor . There is a supermarket close by to pick up snacks and stuff . Would definitely stay here again and will definitely be recommending it to everyone !!

The breakfast was ok but the hotel itself was challenging. Noisy room. Leaky shower. Minimal service.

When we arrive nobody was there. Somebody told us to go to other hotel. In that hotel, nobody was there to register. In both hotel were sign that they were in the other hotels. Very confusing. We went back and forth. One canal ends a few meters from the main entrance and the odor from the retained water is really bad.
