The hotel was a little dated but met our requirements the room was adequate. Nice and warm room. Meals were ok the staff were friendly would stay again value for money.
Entertainment on the Saturday was brilliant it was George Michael Tribute.

Room was alright’ we would of liked a breakfast but with me I don’t eat meat but my husband does I asked if I could have a child’s portion knowing I wouldn’t be eating much at all we didn’t want to pay £12 each just for possible y a few beans & toast ‘ we have eating there before and really enjoyed the food so really having a opition of small & large would be good ‘

You get what you pay for, and the non-sea-view room was decent for the price. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. The room was a bit cramped, especially with luggage.
A few things to note:
Wi-Fi: As advertised, there's no free Wi-Fi. This wasn't a surprise, but it's worth mentioning.
Mobile Network: The mobile network wasn't great, though we managed.
Staff: Our experience with the staff was mixed. While one staff member was less courteous, another was very friendly.
Location: The location is fantastic, right by the pier and within walking distance of the city center.
Overall, it's a satisfactory budget-friendly option, but there are better choices in the area if you're willing to pay a bit more.

We were given a first floor room that was awful! The windows looked over bin storage at the same level, all the blinds were closed but even if you opened them it was as dark as being in a basement room.
We refused to stay there and were moved to another room overlooking the road, the daylight was welcomed so we stayed there.
Uncomfortable beds and paper thin walls.
The whole hotel is outdated, but it’s a budget stay.
Fantastic location! So our focus was on outside the hotel not inside.

This hotel is the worse i have ever been to. Says free WiFi on site but only free in lobby area, charge is £7.00 per day per device in your room and we had booked for 8 days!
The food was so bad we had to eat out, trays of fried food every day , we had to ask what it actually was and when i asked what type of fish one evening member of staff just shrugged, its fish he said!!!
Window were screwed shut in restaurant in case "seagulls got in" it was stiffling. Oh and the rooms were never cleaned, not company policy, , onky things "topped up" if you put out a notice , so nothing done for whole stay, needless to say we left early.

Awful place . Looks like the hotel from the shining ins side and out

I stayed on a half board option the breakfast choice was acceptable but I was very disappointed with the dinner choices and was given the same pudding for the four days I was there.
Also although the room was large and overall clean we had a cistern leak in the bathroom which I had to report three times before it was fixed “Grand it was not’
3.3
I’ve always wanted to stay in this location stunning views and walks up its great that they are working really hard to bring this hotel back to the best condition I hope it becomes as popular as it once was where I stayed was spotless enjoy xx

The floorboards creaks around the bed really bad in the room..

Stayed for two days, putting a Premier sticker on the door does not make it a Premier room, just stayed at the Grand Hotel in Scarborough, a far superior Hotel, even without the sticker on the door, the other downside is the scandalous price for a very poor Breakfast.
3.3
Hotel and staff very good. Very good breakfasts but the evening meal was utter crap.
3.3
Lovely and clean .

The Grand Hotel is a very dated now. Our room was small with 2 sockets on one side near the television and kettle, which sounds great but when I plugged in the hairdryer I could not see in the mirror as it was too far away. In this day and age we need more sockets or USB ports. However I say in this day and age, but the hotel is suited for the older generation, with Bingo every evening. The breakfast was adequate not really much flavour its obvious the cheapest produce had been purchased. We did not have evening meals there as we ventured out. Staff are pleasant enough. Cleanliness: I did clean the light switch as there a brown mark on it and I did not want guess what that might have been. Décor in our room was very dated as well.
3.3
The hotel was brilliant and the room had everything we wanted and even a coffee machine. The food was excellent except for Tuesdays soup which tasted like tomato cuppa soup
3.3
Internet dirty bathrooms and a broken shower. I do not recommend the Grand Hotel
3.3
It waa a lovely hotel nice and quant with lovely wiew across the bar
3.3
There is no onsite parking at all you have to park in town and walk. The hotel is very dated. Our room was unclean and very tired. We didnt even stay for breakfast. 2 bags of rubbish and dirty glasses left on landing by lifts. We wont use this hotel again
3.3
Great location and the price is good for what you get .
Hotel need improvement and reception staff not very professional
3.3
Worst experience. The front desk lady told us there’s no availability. But we double checked online, and got a room. After checking in at the hotel, the toilet’s clogged and poop floating. It was traumatizing.
3.3
My recent stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. First of all there is a misinformation on hotels.com about the wifi as this hotel actually charges for wifi but it’s not written anywhere in the description. Apart from that, room was extremely small, the entry door was almost hitting the bed. It’s misleading picture on hotels.com as they just show a closeup of the bed and nothing else. And k paid £218 for 2 days which is a total ripoff. There were hairs in the bath towels. There was no soap to use while taking a bath. The coffee in the room was the worst I had in my life. I will never go back to this hotel and recommend everyone to not go to this hotel.
3.3
While sleeping, water from the ceiling flies to the floor
3.3
It was not a great experience as there was only 2 sockets and 1 was not working and the hair dryer has a hard button and very hard to operate and the carpets are dirty and zero ventilation and Very important no mobile signals and unable to use internet and no wifi in the room it was very hard fke us to use mobile phone without internet and sad part is you have pay for WiFi if you need to use WiFi in your room I really feltchwated af that point of time.Very old building highly exaggerated however it was not a great experience at all only realised after staying there for one night. Please don't go by photos as the may mislead and not to forget their premium phone number for the hotel we're a regular plan will not connect to their hotel number can't believe this kind of phone number for hotel so that guest would find so difficult to reach them so horrible
3.3
Small bedroom with woodchip wallpaper painted brown. In desperate need of a refurbishment, very uncomfortable worn out mattress. Staff on reception not really interested. Food choice at breakfast was poor with very little choice.
3.3
Our stay was good. We'd like to thank Max the maintenance man who was very very helpful to us.
3.3
A totally mis sold experience. The photos of the standard double room looked lovely & when we arrived we were so shocked at the shoddy room with a bathroom that looked like something out of a caravan…not what was in the photos. There was a massive queue at reception with customers complaining so we gave up. The room was noisy with a dog barking in the next room & the fan in the bathroom made a terrible noise through the broken ceiling. It was the worst room I have ever stayed in & I feel annoyed because it was not as described at all.
3.3
Lovely staff but very pricey
3.3
Not a lot to say. I would prefer to shower, which was not an option. Competitive price and comfortable. Staff were pleasant.
3.3
We booked a standard room the last minute and the room we got was in such a bad state. It had no windows except for one on the ceiling with continuous noise of seagulls. The flush tank in bathroom was leaking continuously resulting in wetting the room carpet as well. There are no phones in rooms to call reception, they have no Wi-Fi in rooms. After complaining, all they did was put a bunch of towels on bathroom floor. After a while the commode also got full of water and was in unusable condition. They finally agreed to change our room for the next day but we wasted a huge bulk of money for that one night without any rest and sleep.
3.3
The property was on the sea view but the conditions of the property was too poor . The lock of the main door wasn’t fully locked & i complained but wasn’t fixed. Even the sink in the bathroom was too small and separate tab for cold and hot water which doesn’t make any sense. I paid too much for this property
3.3
Booked the hotel for a laugh having stayed at the other Brittania Grand hotel in Scarborough. It generally didn’t really meet even our very low expectations as the rooms were boiling hot with no way of ventilating as the windows/balcony doors were secured shut. Every single bit of the floor creaked in both our room and the room above making the likely innocent movements of our neighbours above sound like they were having a Morris dancing competition at 3am. The bed, although likely relatively new, was of extremely poor quality and tough as a rock was higher at the foot than it was at the headboard leading to an extremely uncomfortable nights sleep while also being kept awake by the tap dancing above. The shower head was new although the bathroom extremley dated and there was no soap avaliable for showering or handwashing after using the toilet. Downstairs, the entrance and bar area had been given a fresh lick of paint and comfortable armchairs decorated the “nan’s living room” esq entertainment room. The seating while large and comfortable did lack in avaliability. Housekeeping started banging on doors from 9am but were friendly enough. Its best suited as a beer and banter hotel but would suggest booking an extra night for late checkout as you won’t get much sleep at conventional sleeping hours.
3.3
Jaded grandeur, broken window, blood stains on pillowcase.
Not worth the price.
3.3
The room we had was a rear facing room on the 4th floor with a window looking out onto scaffolding boards. which was disappointing. However the room was adequate. In fact the bed was amazingly comfortable and was fitted with a mattress protector and pillow protectors and a spotlessly white duvet. There was an empty beer bottle behind the curtain when we drew them properly. and the room hadn't been hoovered properly, as when we moved the cube seat to sit on it there were bits of rice underneath it.. However the bathroom was ok ,the shower worked fine and there were lovely fluffy white towels provided. The toilet really didn't want to flush and although they did send maintenance up to fix it. it continued to only flush occasionally. We did sleep very well though. The public areas were lovely and all of the staff were too. Especially Troy the young man behind the bar. He was so enthusiastic and charming, a real asset to the Hotel. We ate at the hotel the first evening and it was cheap and cheerful, nothing to write home about, Breakfast was really good and cooked exceptionally
well. would i go again yes, most definitely. It is in the perfect spot near to everything.
3.3
Good old traditional seaside hotel, we must support them to keep them running, yes a little run down in places but bars and rooms are stunning, didn’t eat there but heard from other guests the food is lovely, Troy the bar lad works very hard
3.3
Staff were friendly and extremely helpful especially when we had a problem with the room: it was dealt with quickly and efficiently.
3.3
It looks like it has not been refurbished since the 1960s.
3.3
The downstairs of the property were lovely and well maintained, the bedroom had been recently renovated badly, poor paintwork etc, heating was provided by a portable electric radiator because the big radiator was turned off... the bed was like a park bench... other facilities were ok and clean. Dont think I'd stay there again unless like this time it was cheap...
Only one member of staff on the reception although there were staff milling about but didn't want to help the girl struggling with the numbers booking in...
3.3
Great stay here, VERY clean staff were great too, will definitely book again !
Only downfall was the mattress abit to firm for my liking but over all very satisfied
3.3
Location and price were fine.
Staff were also nice but the lack of any clean towels, hand wash or even working shower gel dispenser was not a great look. Especially with a 3 night stay. Wi-Fi did not work either
3.3
Stayed Feb 24 room only. In summary:
Stunning location on bay by cliffs.
Old hotel undergoing refurb one floor at a time.
Reception tidy with character.
Room decor dated but warm and clean.
Outside yet to be tidied and neighbouring site derelict.
Price compares favourably to other Llandudno hotels.
Main concern was that new carpet on 3rd floor fitted so that 2 HR fire door could not shut.
Each floor has 5 rooms facing internal courtyard that lack natural light.
An average hotel at a reasonable price.
3.3
The staff could not have been more helpful and the hotel was very clean and warm, the food served at breakfast was excellent and the variety was very good. The building itself was very interesting and the history was fascinating. Refurbishment was ongoing while we there which tended to take a bit of the shine off our experience but these things have to be done. All in all a very good stay with the only complaints that the room seemed a bit cramped and the bed was old.
