Customer service through out the hotel was 2nd to none

Lovely old hotel but the room was pokey in need of updating. Felt like the carpet needed a deep clean.

I really liked the blending of the features of an historic building with modern amenities. There were explanations of the history of the building without it being in your face and looking like a museum. The buildings provided lots of pleasant areas to relax in.
The staff were excellent and friendly.
4.6
A beautifully designed historic building in a charming town. Courtyard drinking, and the best of all … an excellent dining experience.
4.6
Comfortable room but quality of housekeeping not great - looked like a 5 year old had made the bed. Service on coffe shop during day abysmal. Breakfast very average.
4.6
Hotel steeped in history. Room very well appointed with very comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food of the highest quality.
4.6

Beautiful historical old coaching inn at a lovely location.
4.6
Lovely historic hotel right in the heart of Oundle town. Friendly staff, comfortable room (although no aircon due to the age and architecture I would assume). Good breakfast and nice outdoor areas to have a drink.
4.6
Absolutely beautiful grade 1 listed hotel in a lovely village. You would need a car to get there and get around as there is not much to do in Oundle village is beautiful and would be great to stay one or two nights without using the car, longer stays would be good if you have transport. We don’t normally go back to places but will try to return here

We got upgraded from a classic double to the Mary queen of Scots room. The room was facing the main road, but it was so quiet, that you wouldn't have known. The room was really clean. The food was really tasty and well presented. That was both dinner and breakfast. The staff was amazing. We didn't want to leave.

Lovely traditional coaching inn stepped in history a real gem.
High quality fixture and fittings make this a comfortable place to stay

Lovely hotel
4.6
Fanfastically atmospheric old coaching inn, in an equally fantastic old market town, which seems to be dominated by a public school which has seemingly bought up several of the town centre buildings to expand, and in doing so has created a hogwarts like atmosphere

Beautiful hotel, interesting history - would definitely recommend!
4.6
Hotel, room and staff all very good.
Disppointed by breakfast, it was obvious by the curled up edges that the contents of the full english was not cooked fresh. I would stay again though
4.6
A comfortable and enjoyable stay for a family celebration. Delicious food, comfortable well appointed room and friendly, helpful staff

Lovely hotel - fantastic condition - bedrooms are excellent - staff super helpful - brilliant breakfast - in lovely Oundle

A charming hotel in a very picturesque place. The room spacious and comfortable. I appreciated the classical music from the radio and the lights on when we entered the room on our arrival. A nice touch!

The room are clean and comfortable
4.6
Fantastic hotel - great location centre of town, close to cafes and bars. Lovely decorated rooms.

The parking is limited but the hotel is great. Digital radio was a nice touch!

Always good!

Terrible food. Terrible Staff advice RE food. Lots of dust in the bedroom. The whole trip has made me ill.. food & allergies. Overpriced.
4.6
The food and service were excellent. Staff were particularly helpful, pleasant and professional.
We were allocated an accessible room even though I hadn’t booked one. The large shower room was sadly lacking hooks/shelving on which to put things. Also the window would not open more than a fraction and looked as if it needed replacing. It was hidden behind a blind.
The bedroom was huge and well equipped.
There’s a nice relaxed atmosphere and the location in the centre of town is perfect.
A lovely hotel, despite the shower room.

The Talbot Hotel is a well maintained, historical, comfortable Hotel in the region.
I have stayed there in and out for about a month due to business purpose nearby.
The stuffs are extremely friendly and helpful.
It feels like "at home" whenever staying there.

A lovely old coaching hotel idea for a short stay.

This is a beautiful property in a very quiet and quaint town. The staff for the on-site restaurant and bar are friendly, although service is a little slow. The food is wonderful and the ambiance is old world charm and cozy.

Very friendly, welcome note! Great coffee bar, breakfast etc!! Loved this place! Thanks

We had a really relaxing break in a beautiful historic hotel. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The restaurant was stylish and the food was superb.
4.6
The original 17th century building is amazing. Our room was in the garden annexe but very stylish and comfortable. Friendly, efficient service.
4.6
Only stayed for one night. We were upgraded to the Oundle Suite, and it's a very, very nice room, or should I say rooms. The hotel is a beautiful building dating back to 1600's snd is a collection of buildings with a unique character. Fantastic grounds, lit to perfection at night and looks like something from a fantasy movie. This is topped off with a wonderful eaterie and bar. The staff and manageress we lovely and could not do enough for us. We will definitely be returning.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. Bedroom and facilities were excellent and staff were helpful, polite and efficient.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone as first class.
4.6
A really lovely Hotel with very nice gardens in a lovely setting. We had an exec room which was great, had everything you could wish for and the bed was very comfortable.
Only one small criticism that a mistake was made at breakfast and we waited over 45 minutes because the order was missed, but it can happen and it certainly didn't spoil our stay. We would return and I would reccomend the hotel and Oundle.
4.6
We like our stay a lot, the staff were very helpful. Breakfast was perfect. We did feel dinner was a let down.
4.6
An outstanding hotel, steeped in history. I would have given 10 out of 10 if the food was better.
