The staff are all friendly and helpful . Bedding and towels and the room were all clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was able to get a table to eat.
I booked a single room. I was given a small room with a double bed and wardrobe and unit with kettle etc. There was no space for any bedside table or bedside lamp on either side of the bed so I had to open the wardrobe drawer to use as a place to put a drink down when on the bed. And leave my phone on the other side of the double bed for my alarm and a night light. there was no mirror in the bedroom to use to dry my hair, I had to angle the TV to see a reflection.
The bathroom was clean, the hot water kept cooling down and there is a drainage problem with the shower and I could easily have caused a flood.
the food was not great, roast potatoes that were hard from being kept hot too long for example.

Breakfast was good staff friendly
The Whole hotel was badly in need of a good clean it was very dirty and the carpets were filthy we were very disappointed with the accommodation plus the price for this awful inn was £110.50 we are going to complain to Greene king Inns and I have taken photos to show how this inn wasti stay very dissatisfied with the booking

The bed was comfortable - water pressure good.
Room could do with an update
Evening / night staff were helpful
The breakfast was diabolical and the staff were very rude. Were incapable of wiping a table and got upset every time I asked for basic things.

The outside of the inn is beautiful. The location was good for what we were doing.
When we arrived we couldn’t check in as the staff were busy dealing with a bar full of unhappy customers who had been waiting two hours for food. When we did get a member of staff to help us he was unable to check us in as he was either not trained or it was not his responsibility and we had to wait for someone else. When we were checked in we had to go through a room that had been used for a party by the looks of things however the fire exit door was blocked and we had to move the chairs to get up the stairs. The room was small which was fine but very dark.
On checking out, we were 30 minuets after breakfast was finished being served for guests but paying people could still have a breakfast, my husband had just been taking part in an endurance challenge which the staff never knew as he asked how it was, the offer of a coffee or something would have been really lovely.

The bed was comfortable
The person doing the breakfast service was very polite and apologetic about our experience but ultimately it wasn’t his fault or anything for him to apologise for. We appreciated his service and friendliness
The room was so small and very dingy. The room is dated and needs to be updated. The bathroom was tiny and shower was so small that neither me or my friend used it. One mirror and this was in the bathroom only. It was relatively clean but it’s just old and needs refurbishment.
The person who checked us in didn’t tell us that the door to the ‘hotel’ would be locked at a certain point and you’d need a code to get in. We arrived to the hotel at 12:30 (after our friends wedding reception) and couldn’t get in. We rang the emergency number which is for the general manager Claire and I rang this number multiple times and she didn’t answer. We were freezing- it was so cold and windy. We spent 45 minutes trying to wake someone up to let us in and eventually a guest came out to walk her dogs and she let us in. We would of been locked out all night had this lady not come outside. I sent a text to Claire and I have not received any communication from her since.
I feel we are entitled to some compensation for our experience.

food was good and staff were pleasant and helpful.
very noisy room constant noise from refrigeration unit in the kitchens below.

Location by the river was pleasant.
Location by river was pleasant.
Bedroom was too small for comfort and constant noise made good sleep impossible. Bathroom hardly big enough to use, WC could have been cleaner and shower soap empty. Waited 55mins for a dried up, virtually inedible breakfast.

Good location, sqeeky pub sign out side of bedroom window unfortunately.
Wouldn't allow me to change booking date at location and booking.com were not helpful.

Did not have breakfast but would have if there was a smaller cooked breakfast available, the children's looked good choice but not available to adults, but would have been a perfect choice for me at the advertised price.
We liked the location. The room had very good facilities
Kitchen fans were very noisy and could be heard all over the hotel. They went off just after 9.00 pm but were very distracting until that time.they came on again at 6.30 am so any sleep after this was impossible due to the noise. The ensuite was very small. There was only a bedside light on one side of the bed which was not very convenient.

The old pub and eating part. Being beside water
The staff were rude, I swing and ignored your presence!

No breakfast

The settings of the pub's location lovely
No cooked breakfast only advised when we arrived. Dreadful steak meal. All in all a very badly run business with untrained staff. Seemed customers didn't matter even when the place was empty.

The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive.
That and the position of the pub made for a great few days of walking, along with a pint and a delicious meal to look forward to each evening.

The bar area has been refurbished & creates a warm & inviting place to drink, chat & enjoy a meal.
We ate a couple of times & the meals were nice, hot & served quite quickly even though the place was very busy they managed to deliver good service.
First impressions on walking into Old ferry boat is warm & welcoming lovely old inn,
The room we stayed in had not been refurbished & even though the room rate we paid was cheap I did not like the room it was well over due for refurb. Greene Kings should think about their reputation & finish what they started & bring the rest of the pub up to standard.
Claire the new manager is very passionate about her new position & moved us to a refurbished room the next day which was super modernised & It made the rest of our stay so much more enjoyable.
Claire listening to my concerns & moving our room made all the difference of future custom from us & us recommending to others.
So thanks again for a lovely stay & we will return next year.

convenient to get to, plenty of parking. it’s a pub so do plenty of meals and drinks
toilet wasn’t properly cleaned and wiped down. couldn’t sleep properly as teenagers were up until the early hours of the morning running up and down the corridors made me think an earthquake happened.

Staff, food, location, atmosphere excellent.

comfy and friendly as well as good value for money
the restaurant was cold in evening.
3.5
Good breakfast, but cool dining area on a day when it was very frosty and sub-zero temperature outside.
Steep, small steps up to bedroom, which had the smallest bathroom I have ever experienced. The left side of the double bed had no room for a shelf or cabinet on which to place items such as a glass or travelling clock.
3.5
parking available and it’s a pub so there was food available
tucked away so hard to find but found it. Fan generator noise outside of the room I was in.

En suites need updating but management have this in hand

This Inn is in a fabulous location in a picturesque village beside a lovely river. The owners have only been there for a couple of weeks and have plans to update I look forward to seeing what they do in the future.
Although we had a good evening meal we weren’t offered a cooked breakfast as the kitchen wasn’t geared up to it yet.
Also we had a small room and the tiniest shower room.

Fabulous location next to the river - enjoyed a peaceful read and a pint watching the sun go down.
Loved the history associated with the pub and the fact that it's haunted!!
The kitchen was shut which wasn't a massive issue but would have been nice to have a meal looking over the river.
Has not stopped us wanting to return later on this year.

Staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Location is excellent on river bank in beautiful village. Bar area is quaint and appealing.
Greene King appear to have neglected the fabric of the building which must be one of their most historic and beautiful pubs. It needs maintenance and re-decoration inside and out. My room was over the kitchen and a very noisy extractor fan made its presence felt until 9.30pm and again early in the morning. There was was no desk area. Access to the bedrooms is through a neglected looking function room and up some very tatty stairs. According to staff I spoke to there is still no permanent manager and they are doing their best. They were unfailingly helpful and pleasant but the brewery needs to take some steps to improve the place.
