Ok room with toilet outside. A lot of noise from the church opposite.

This is your choice if you are after a budget stay. The staff who works at the reception speaks perfect English which makes checking in and out and making enquiries a lot easier. The hostel is also very close to the main tourist attractions.

The chambermaids were
Very kind and consistently
Kept room clean. Rooms are small, but authentic. Shared bathroom shower leaks, but cleaned daily. Street noise, unavoidable with the great location.

We are old people. We booked 3 nights. But the stairs in room are broken and not stable. What is very strange is that we had to pay a much higher price first before we could see and change to another room. That is why we made the painful decision to leave the place. We stayed only 1 night, but paid for 3 nights. Until today we
have not got refund. Is there no regulations about this?

Basic single room accommodation with shared bathroom. It's a good area, narrow street but easy to find good eating places and some of the major attractions. Staff were extremely helpful with any requests. I would definitely stay there again

The service was excellent, got some nice tips, thanks!
I would recommend installing mirrors to every room, weatherstripes to all doors(for better sound proofing) and a larger trash can to the toilets (more space to put toilet paper as the paper was forbidden to put in to the toilet). Those costs about nothing.
The roof terrace was nice!

Very comfortable, so glad we stayed here. Room was super comfortable, clean, and air conditioning was quiet and effective.

Very cosy hotel/hostel. Staff was supernice and location excellent! The terrasse on the 3 floor was an unexpected surprise. Very cosy with great surroundings. The room was simple but nice.

Very central located and very convenient. But a little white paint and some good lighting would do wonders to this property. Okay for Sevilla and its prices but you have to have modest expectations.

Nice location, fine for one night stay in centre of Cadiz.
Walking distance of train station and airport bus stop too

If you are bring a car, do not stay here. They said they have some parking space but actualy it is not.
Also the room was so cold so we had to wear our jacket inside the room.

The room got fluid after a person took a shower.

Neighborhood was difficult to navigate when driving and loaded with extra luggage.
5.0 / 10.0
The desk manager Angel was friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. Trying to navigate the complicated traffic of downtown Seville was a challenge, but at least the Monterena offered private parking nearby. The rooms themselves are within walking distance of the cathedral, the royal alcazar, and other key sights.

The staff is very gentle and clean; sometimes other visitors are not.

Guests screaming and no reception during the night.

Parking was terrible. There is nowhere to park, even for a short time in front of the pensione to offload luggage. I had reserved the day before, and nobody got back to me about parking until 14.00 the day of check-in. I had to park very far from the pensione. The couch, which they claim sleeps two, has support pieces under the padding which fall off (too short). Nobody in the office speaks English or makes the slightest effort to understand English.

A good value ,well located hostel near enough to train station and Santa Cruz area.Room was perfectly clean and comfortable with air con unit. Shared bathroom was also fine and just across the corridor. Close to restaurants and bars along with tourist sites.

The pension is in the very centre of the town from a walkable distance from every important sites. It has a nice authentic Andalusian atmosphere. It has its own garage if you arrive by car, but secure place in advance.

Amazing little place with lovely courtyard! The room was lovely and was comfortable. For the price it was a really good stay!

old school Spanish pension. Good facilities, pleasant atmosphere, well maintained and clean. Reception staff exceptional - went out of their way to help and give information. Location is fine on the edge of old town with plenty of facilities around. Can be noisy from the street / neighbors. Will depend on who else is staying regarding noise from bathroom. Excellent value overall.

Good location and good service from Michael, gave good directions and suggestions.
First Room was clean and worked ok , moved to second room that was very small not so ok .
The outside patio was lovely , unfortunately the damn barking dogs made it difficult to enjoy . Little bar and restaurant a block away had good breakfast too.
Easy bus ride to and from train station only a block away too. And 15 min walk to Alcazar

Too much noise from the streets. Plus when the cleaners arrived in the morning, they shouted to each other. So we always woke up. The room was standard but clean. The mattress was ok so it was convenient to sleep. Very difficult to find a parking space (the pension couldn't guarantee a space, however I contacted them to reserve one as advised on their website). The location is good, close to all everything, walkable distances.

Great location, close to touristic visits!
We parked our car on the street, very safe, we didn't have to pay the 18 euros per night.

on a cold day would be nice to have some heating on before the guest check-in

Worst place I have stayed in 30 years

This hotel was down a warren of narrow lanes off a main street. The cab driver dumped us with few and incorrect directions. A cafe keeper on the corner gave us some directions, and as we got closer another young man saw our puzzled expressions and led us right to the door. It was located in a narrow "kissing" lane where sounds echoed mightily, and a group of young people milled in the lobby. We soon met the manager and learned that we would have to climb two steep flights of stairs. He convinces us to stay by taking our baggage to the room. The place is charming, and we had room for our things, but the very new shower leaked. It was central to what we wanted to see and do with interesting street life nearby.

The room reminded me our miserable life back home.

It was good, but poverly furnitured and not too clean. There was a bad smell in the room. It was also very small and noisy.

It's great if you just need a cheap place to stay. The locks on the doors did not seem very safe and they have shared bathrooms for the different floors. Very hot at night. Very poor quality utilities, but it was super cheap. I'd stay there again-- not the worst place to stay.

It was good overall if you only intend a bed for your back and aching feet. Was expecting it to be air conditioned as its gets too hot even at night, but it didn't matter in the end.

Apart from the entrance there is nothing nice about this place. The room was like a cell, basic at best. The bathrooms were either out of order or I felt dirtier after I came out. The place is very noisy at night (even the staff!), there is no lounge/communal area and no kitchen. The staff are friendly if you approach them but speak surprisingly little English or any other languages. A tour of the facilities would also have been nice since I only accidentally stumbled on the rooftop on my last night.

Great location, lovely building and spotlessly clean. Small room which was quite noisy but for the excellent price we paid during Semana Santa I don't feel right to actually complain. Recommended for the budget traveller.
