No heat in December. In South Lake Tahoe. Let that sink in. They knowingly gave us a room without heat. The room heater was blowing cold air. We left for dinner and came back to an even colder room. The weather was under 30F degrees. When I asked for different accommodations, I was offered a small plug-in heater that is inappropriate for the room size and the space. The front desk said "it's too cold for our heaters to work". Again, this is Lake Tahoe. 30F degrees is normal for December. I asked for a different room and then was offered an inappropriately small room that did not match my original booking. When I told them it was not acceptable and that I needed a minute to gather my things and find a different accommodation, they told me to "leave if not using the room".

Black mold in shower, broken smoke detector and in room phone, gritty floors and dirty hallways. Parking good, reception good, breakfast ok

Great customer service. Room was nice and upgraded. Outside environment eyesore but do not let that be the reason to not book here, room was very nice and clean.

A good stay. I am still here for another week, but in a King Suite. Exceptional front desk, management. Will definitely stay again. One thing that stands out compared to competing properties is the complimentary breakfast. From Jimmy Dean sandwiches to yogurt, waffle maker, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, 4 kinds of juice, milk, coffee. Included are fresh bagels, jam, butter. Just about anything you imagine. Highly recommended.

It was a nice stay however room 116 window looked out to a hallway that had a light shining in illuminating the room all night. The curtains didn’t fully close so people walking by could see in.

Outside of entire hotel needs to be updated, very run down looking, including lobby area. Only one mirror in bathroom. Need long mirror. Fridge has no freezer.

It was nothing like the crisp, modern room shown on the website. The carpet is worn, the bedspread stained, and the sheetrock repair embarrassing. To be fair, the place was clean. Not quite a dump

air conditioner is very noisy, and could hear the people above us very early in the am. thin floors.

Location is in the perfect spot for tourists. 5 minutes away from Stateline and down the street from nice beaches. Room is very clean and cheap given for the location. Check in and out was easy and staff was nice. Would definitely stay here again for another weekend trip.

Amazing

In general, there were many thoughtful upgrades in the rooms regarding USB power and the like. However, the room had no overhead light, so it was quite dark. The stairs going up (no elevator) were slanted forward from years of use. There was a bad urine smell near our bed, and the caulk around the room jacuzzi was in bad shape -- there will be future issues for them about that. Breakfast is extremely continental -- waffles, pre done microwave sandwiches and flakes. Just look pretty tired.

We were in the separate building which was fine but had very limited parking near rooms. But noticed there was additional parking a little down the street that was also for the hotel. It would have been helpful if we were told the first night.

This was a place to sleep for one night. The first room was not clean and had stains all over the carpet. I received a different room when I informed the front desk it was dirty. The next room had no stains on carpet but the comforter has a few stains and cigarette burns on it. The hotel seems to be partially hotel guests and partially full time residents. Front desk guy was very friendly. I almost forgot to mention the shower was smaller than my RV shower. My wife refused to use the shower.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was perfectly clean, completely remodeled and the staff was very helpful. You definitely get a great deal for your money. We have been here before in 2019 and the property has really improved a lot since than. Definitely recommend it. I guess the lower ratings come from older bookings when the rooms had not been remodeled yet.

Econo Lodge Hotel Review: Aug 23 - Aug 25, 2024
The hotel room rate and amenities are fair, and the room was clean. The lady at the front desk was nice and informative about weekend activities.
However, I experienced two incidents during my stay:
1. There was a group of people in front of the hotel parking entrance screaming at the top of their lungs and cheering for cars passing by (I later found out there’s a car show in town). These people were flashing number signs indicating how “cool” their cars were. This went on for several hours during the afternoon and eventually got to the point where they partially blocked the entrance to the parking lot. I complained to the front desk, but they couldn’t do anything about the disruptive behavior. I don’t see why because they were clearly inside the hotel property standing next to the Econo Lodge sign.
2. Some guests were smoking weed on the balcony (in front of their door) next to my room. They were just hanging out and talking. I intentionally did not report this to management because I didn’t want to create problems or face potential retribution from the people staying next to me, so I let it go.
I’m not a picky guest, but these two incidents are clearly unacceptable for any reasonable patron.

The shower head does not work and the room view of the hallway was unfortunate for a King Room.

Decent place to stay, room was clean. Laundry room was a mess but otherwise got a good nights sleep.

For the price it was a clean safe place to lay our heads. We stayed two nights and didnt have any major problems. We were traveling with 2 dogs equaling 160 pounds and were happy they excepted us for only $15 dollars a night(pet fee). We will definitely stay again. Mind you we're easy to please and minor wear and tear on a building doesnt bother us.

It was a pleasant stay. Had the amenities we wanted (breakfast, refrigerator, microwave, and pet friendly). Service was friendly and helpful. Would stay again. Located next to good burger place and within walking distance to Heavenly Village.

The hotel room was clean and everything worked accordingly. The staff was accommodating and friendly. The location was convenient and accessible to the main street. Would recommend to all.

The bed was very comfortable but the floor was dirty, it smelled musty with bleach covering it up. I requested an ADA room and there were no bars in the bathroom. The toilet sits too low for elderly people with no bars to assist them to get up.

We had a pretty great stay. Parking was limited, guest room had garbage from previous guest, power for television was out, and the bathroom was tiny. Despite the negative remarks above, it is a great place to stop for a night or two if you have pets and need a place to crash. Would stay here again in the future.

The room was small and smelled of over used chemicals to clean. We ended up leaving within 30 minutes of checking in.
6.0 / 10.0
Staff were not willing to give us room service in the 4 nights we stayed there! We basically had to beg for clean towels. Needs modernization inside- especially the bathroom. Not anywhere to set anything down, toilet didn’t flush correctly. Do not recommend staying here.
