I have to say that the building and its location are just beautiful!
Our room had very low ceilings and getting to the bed I had to bend over and cracked my head a couple times! But I'm sure that's not the case in every room. The only other thing was that the breakfast was nice, but the eating space was very tight for the number of people.

This was a great place to relax after a day of hiking! Appreciated the hot tub

Stayed in lots of places in Iceland over the past 2 weeks. This was the worst. Uncomfortable beds, smallest room, uneven water pressure and hot water.
Included breakfast was surprisingly good.

The bad: Very uncomfortable beds and sheets. The bathroom smelled like sulfur and no soap was provided. The shower temperature was finicky. There is no one at the property to answer any questions or help out. The sound is awful and you can hear all other guests in the building. The hot tub was not hot and it had algae growing in it.
Check-in was ridiculous. The listing said that an email would be sent out 24 hour in advance. It was not. When I called during the specified check in time, I was hung up on. The owner seems to ONLY speak to someone who has called on the phone that is inside the property building.
The good: The location is beautiful. The sheets smelled clean.

No staff to help with queries! Couldn’t get in our room til almost midnight! Phone numbers on the doors are not answered and spent almost 2 hours on the phone with Expedia in the middle of the night to get in. Over priced for what you get but clean and well maintained

This is a self check in hotel. Our room had not even one chair, no night lamps and wasnt the cleanest. On top of that water smell of rust and solfur. For what we paid I expexted more

This was very cozy. I thought it was even better than the listing indicated.

It was a nice place, but way overpriced. We enjoyed the free breakfast and easy check in, but were surprised at how expensive it was for limited amenities and a very average room. Would definitely stay again if it were cheaper!

The location is breathtaking! Rooms are nice too, but we didn’t find a way to lower the temperature of the room, it got too hot! We had to open windows! Otherwise it was ok

Nice quiet place with an incredible view. Lots of sightseeing to be done nearby.

Loved the building, very quiet, no one else in the entire building.
We originally thought that there was some water quality issues or sewage drainage being our room had a sewer gas smell to it. Used the first floor bathroom and did not notice any issues there. After visiting another hotel, realized it must have been the smell of "minerals" in the water.

Looked so nice in photos, but in person the bathroom facilities are soooooo dated & rusty. The rooms only have a tiny refrigerator. Just not what we were comfortable staying at, and they didn’t offer a refund, or any discount. The little homes out front were a MUCH better option.

Everything is great. Beautiful surroundings and is in the midst of many natural scenes.

Excellent property, wonderful staff and such a fun stay. I’d recommend this place to anyone traveling to that part of Iceland. My entire family was just so happy to stay there.

Stayed here 8 years ago and was happy to be staying here again. In a beautiful area with a great hike to a geo thermal pool tucked away in the mountains. Breakfast service and hot tub! Look forward to another future stay here.

Cute hotel at the end of a private drive. We had room 201 and shared with friends of ours. The room was very tidy and spacious, with a lovely balcony with great views. Yes, the bathroom smelled like sulfur but it's common in Iceland with hot water.
The common area was very spacious and was a great place to hang out. We loved the breakfast served in the morning, which was just enough fuel for the start of the day. Unlimited access to coffee and cookies was also a delight throughout our stay.
We enjoyed the hot tub outside, but wished it were a tad bit warmer. Overall, this was our favorite hotel that we stayed at in Iceland. It's private, quiet, has an easy check-in process, nice breakfast, and is very spacious.

Cute little place. Very clean and good location right next to Skógafoss.

Check-in could have been better, the instructions in English were not specific enough.. saw some ppl get fed up and leave, thankfully we checked fine.. it did take us a while to figure it out

Bad attitude

The location was nice and the grounds are nice but the customer service was terrible and rude.

Loved everything about this property. Cozy room, cozy living area for everyone to share, good breakfast in the morning, nice hot tub. Felt very remote and the views surrounding were breathtaking.

Stunning location! Quiet and private with incredible scenery. Breakfast was great, hot tub was nice.

A perfect last minute stop, mountain side along the Southern ring road with easy, quick access from the main road. Perfect breakfast in the land of few restaurants far and between. Very responsive to get check-in code for room via email and or phone at reception.

Relaxed in the hot tub on arrival with views of swirling birds overhead near cliffs. Breakfast was excellent

Really nice property, but one complaint. There was a deck area that staff used for smoking. It was both under our room window and also in a spot I would have like to have had breakfast. The inside breakfast area was cramped and the outdoor area was great--other than cigarette smoke.
3.8
It was conveniently on the Ring Road, quiet at night, breakfast was well-rounded for all tastes and the hotel was clean.
3.8
Beautiful place and great breakfast. The room we stayed in had a bad smell and the hot tub wasn’t hot but overall we would come back.
3.8
Very clean and inviting decor and room. Beautiful location, kids enjoyed running up the little mountain in the back. Hot tub had a great view. Breakfast was by far one of the best Ive had at a hotel, fresh, delicious, well presented, and extensive. Would totally recommend!

I will say that the building has a log cabin feel to it. The appearance from outside and the entry are fabulous. Check in is by a phone call. They give you your room number and code for a key box. Our problem was our room, #104. Once I entered the room, smelled like a backed up septic problem. I immediately had to open the windows to air out the room. Since no employees at facility, no one to talk to. Needless to say, less than satisfying experience. I hope the other rooms smelled better than ours.

Clean and great design of the building

We booked a last minute stay here in room 201 for our family of four. It was a really nice property beautiful views and a cool river right in front. The hot tub was warm not hot but that was better for my kids anyway (if they added a cover like other places we stayed it might have been hotter) we didn’t notice any sewer smells the water everywhere smells like sulphur though in Iceland. We were the only guests at the hotel so got the whole common area to ourselves. The breakfast was basic mini pancakes (probably frozen kind) pastries fruit and yogurt along with warm rolls.
Try to get the code in advance via email otherwise it seems you can’t call for it until after 4PM which is check in time anyway. It was on the pricey side but Vik was more and only 30 minutes away. The Skogar waterfall is super close and had a great restaurant

Super great place and we loved staying there! An Icelandic gem! Just wonderful.

This hotel offers the breathtaking view of mountain and a peaceful moment from hot tub. You can get free coffee whenever you would like and good choice of breakfast. I liked the quiet and awesome log house style. You can just step into the another world. Thank you so much.

This was a horrible experience. You never see the booking staff on site and they’re impossible to reach via phone. When I finally did connect them about my booking to check in, they said my booking had been cancelled and hung up. I never cancelled this booking. We had to book a last minute room and then look for new lodging altogether. When I contacted Expedia to resolve the issue, they said there was nothing they could do to refund me the money taken by this property. I’ve been scammed out of $1,000 USD. I will never book at this property again and I will never book through Expedia again.

We reserved two night at this property in April 2022. One week before our stay we were told that they were overbooked and our reservation was cancelled. Expedia helped me rebook one night but I found after booking that the price had doubled. Two days before this stay w

The floors squeaked horribly above us. Sounded like the people above were about to fall through the floor. If you go here I would highly suggest a second floor room and be mindful of the people below you.
For the price, this should be addressed.
Water in hot tub was not hot, hence nobody ever used it.

It is a beautiful area! Staff were friendly in the morning when serving breakfast. Self check in was easy.

It is a strange place with no atmosphere. For a hotel as expensive as this one it is surprising that no one appears to work there or cares about the guests. It feels like a university residence with spare, random and ill fitting furniture. Bare bones breakfast and no interest by the management to customer service. It feels like you are creeping around in someone else’s house. A very large let down and grossly over priced.
