Very friendly & helpful staff. As a coeliac they made me feel safe with my meals & had made an effort to accommodate my needs. The building is very old which makes it quite different & my room was up 2 flights of a stone spiral staircase & had a very unusual layout!

This is a superb hotel, I was met with a very warm greeting, all of the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough. My room (Le Meschin) was huge with a superbly comfortable four poster bed and a multi-function shower in the en suite that was perfect after my day of cycling. Food was great, location excellent, I have already recommended to friends

Really enjoyable visit. Staff very attentive and gave prompt services. Room was enormous with a bed with 2 time zones. Made us feel really small, initially we thought it was hard but we slept so soundly. Jetted tub with the tv in the wall was a nice touch. Small gardens but immaculately kept. Very quiet considering we were just below a major road.
Breakfast was really good and the staff were really efficient and were able to supply a good breakfast

I had a wonderful stay at Moresby Hall. Idyllic scenery and friendly, helpful staff. Food was filling and standard so no surprises on the menu. As a solo traveller I was disappointed to have limited dining opportunities in walking distance. Beautiful historic building.

What a beautiful looking hotel, with the staff and new owners to match, my stay at the hotel was a very special one, celebrating my 60th birthday, the owner Steph and her lovely family made me feel very special. Thank you so much for your hospitality, wish you all the best for the future.

Another fantastic stay in this beautiful building. The owners Jane and Dave are so welcoming and couldn't do enough for me. Moresby hall is very well maintained, very clean and just a lovely experience to stay in such a historic building including an amazing breakfast! I loved the huge 4 poster bed, period furniture and complimentary shampoo, shower gel and body cream which are a great quality for once! They also have meeting facilities. I will be returning with my family soon as I would like them to experience what a difference this hotel is from the the regular, impersonal and generic hotels we usually have. Thank you Jane, Dave and your staff!

The room was located in backyard house, where highway maintenance trucks were parking directly in font of the window.
The room for two was equipped for one.
The building is located directly beneath the highway and would be pretty noisy.
At our stay it was closed due to construction work.

Booked for a business trip, I had a meeting mid afternoon and wanted to be settled in the room before starting my online meeting, this meant checking in early, I called the hotel and they were very polite on the phone and happy to oblige. On arriving I had to ring a bell to be let into the building, I was shown to my room, Rooms are ok, comfortable enough and clean if a bit cold. The lady that checked me in asked what time I want breakfast, I was leaving early, before usual breakfast service but was offered for there to be some cereal etc out for me to grab, which was a nice offer. I then found the restaurant is no longer operating, which wasn’t on the Expedia listing. So I ended up at the premier inn restaurant down the road for dinner. On arrival back at the hotel I was greeted by someone who seemed annoyed at me, told breakfast was not possible as they lock the rooms downstairs, as well as the front doors?? Seems like they don’t trust their guests. Any way I said it didn’t matter and went back to my room. Slept ok, got ready to leave for the day and just as I was on the way out, I was offered breakfast which I now didn’t have time for.
There is a building site right outside the hotel, I didn’t notice noise, but others might. Turn into the hotel is very tight if you have a big car. Without an on-site restaurant and other small niggles in all honesty it’s not worth the effort, just stay at the premier inn.

Beautiful old building, lovely grounds staff were excellent. The bed was not that comfortable. Currently no restaurant. No laundry on site only a laundry service. Entryway is a bit tight for getting a car in

We had a wonderful stay at Moresby Hall. Our room was lovely with plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and delicious biscuits.
The breakfast was hot and delicious. We hope we can make a return visit soon.

Claire was in charge when I checked in. Although she was new to the job, she was great. Rooms are large, bed very comfortable. The house is very old and jam packed with history. Loved it

Staff, room, food were all excellent. Bed was a little lumpy and creaked every time I moved

Lovely room with comfy bed and plenty of space. Chef/Manager Adrian, was very helpful. We ate there the first night and his suggestion in Whitehaven, The Peddlar on the 2 nd night.
Easy parking and convenient location.

Well adapted to current situation and made everyone feel comfortable. Had a lovely room, nice food and very friendly hosts. If you like walking there is a great path from the hotel to Whitehaven right on the coast.

Fantastic time, food brilliant good to relax in front of the fire, definitely worth a visiting.

This is an amazing place, full of character and finished to a very high standard. Everyone I met was friendly and helpful. The room was nice however quite cold, despite the heating being on, however once i was snuggled down it was rather pleasant. Due to prior arrangements I didnt eat at the hotel, however I have no doubt that the food woud have been as good as the service. I would certainly stay here again.
4.6
An amazing building with many interior features of note combined with a great location. Great staff, reception, and breakfast will stop again on business.
The bed was very comfortable and the room laid out very effectively.
4.6
Unique location, great history. Parking a bit tight and difficult to use charger as it had scaffolding in front. Studio was an eclectic taste but roomy. Good breakfast, cooked to order. Would stay again.

Very impressive place. Still a lot of work going on, but my room was lovely, spacious and comfortable.

A gem of a place. Great breakfast and hospitality.
4.6
Bed and breakfast in a charcterful building dating from the 17th Century or earlier. Friendly owners. If you needed to stay in the Whitehaven area and have a need for an overnight charge of your EV, this is the place to choose.
4.6
This is a beautiful old building with a very nice garden. The room was excellent and quite large and a very comfortable bed and nice views to the sea. The cooked breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. We did not have an evening meal whilst we were there. They only do evening meals on selected days and with prior booking. The owners do not profess to being a full blown hotel so it is important that you read their website to understand what they offer. If you want nice hosts, peace and quiet, nice gardens to sip G&T's in and a bit of history this is just the place. If you want a full scale hotel with bells and whistles then maybe not so much. Personally I had a very relaxing time
