This lovely hotel in Waddington is warm ,friendly and comfortable .
Headed by by Michael who is a very talented chef and Rebecca and her team who could not have been more friendly and welcoming to us .
First time at The Higher Buck and cannot wait to return .
We cannot recommend this hotel more highly .

Tastefully design and fitted out bedroom. Plenty of room. Ideal for having a dog along with us. Dinner and breakfast of a very high standard. Delicious cuisine. A beautiful village location.

What a lovely place to stay, immaculate, lovely staff very homely. Will definitely be back

Great friendly & welcoming staff

We loved everything about our stay - staff, breakfasts, evening meal, village, countryside, home-made mandarin vodka etc. We hope to get back soon

Great location, lovely clean room, staff really helpful, both the evening meal & breakfast were excellent.

We stayed at Higher Buck whilst attending a recent wedding, and it was a great experience. Plenty of car parking space (could do with a car charger). We had a really nice welcome, and were shown to a really nice room. Tastefully decorated, kettle, tea & biscuits! Good bathroom, with very nice towels and goods etc.
We left for our wedding through the restaurant, which was packed and the food looked good.
The room was very nice, and the only reason for 4* on comfort was that the room was very hot, and having to have the windows open meant that the road noise was an issue.
Breakfast was great - very high quality and very nice service.
I would strongly recommend this inn - but I would ask for a back room away from the road

Lovely overnight stay here and enjoyed an evening meal in the pub. Have to say the food was amazing and the morning breakfast was very good.

Good food, pleasant staff, nice quiet location and easy to park.

An absolutely beautiful pub with lovely rooms in a really picturesque village. All of the staff were friendly and professional, the service was excellent. Room was lovely, really cosy and warm. Excellent shower. Excellent choice at the bar, with 4 hand pull beers as well as a choice of lagers. The food was just superb! Great choice, clearly homemade, fantastic quality. Would absolutely recommend.

Great room and gorgeous food / recommend

Fabulous all round. Lovely room, very comfy bed. A lot of lazy flies in the bathroom for some reason.
Staff were very warm and welcoming and the food was amazing.

The food and the staff were excellent.

The room was extreme small No where to put bags no wardrobes to hang clothes apart from three hooks on the wall. The room is positioned on a corner with Tractor's and lorries passing continuously throughout the evening.
4.8
Beautiful stay . Rooms slightly small for price but not a a major issue but the huge selling point is the quality of the food. Outstanding evening meal and gorgeous breakfast

Good accomodation in good location. Food in the pub was very good. We would stay again.
Rooms were a little warm initially, had to turn down heating, but came good. Breakfast ok, but not up to the standard of the pub meals.
4.8
Lovely setting. Great food and service but bedroom, though beautifully clean, was tiny and not worth what we paid with nowhere to sit.. Also we were put on a soulless table in the corner at the back for our evening meal. We presumed this was as they were busy, but realised as we left that this was not the case (was hard to see from where we were sitting)

Lovely place and great service

Great, cosy room with fantastic food and service situated in a lovely village!

Excellent stay. Staff very friendly. Food was good

We stopped overnight on our way North. The welcome was friendly and helpful. Accommodation was beautiful, spacious and immaculate. Dinner was delicious, excellent choices but service a bit slow although very friendly. Breakfast was great with self service cereals and fruit etc plus delicious cooked options including home smoked salmon. Definitely worth seeking out

Absolutely wonderful place, the rooms were beautiful and spotless, the village is lovely and the staff couldn’t have been any more accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed in the cottage which was adjacent to the pub. The bedroom and bathroom are a good size. Bed really comfy. Small wall mounted TV, a bit dark in the room.
Our bedroom window was on the ground floor which looked out onto the street. Unfortunately, they had table and chairs outside our window, for people to have a drink. Therefore, we kept the blinds closed, for some privacy.

Great food. The room located at the front of the building on the road was extremely noisy and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable. Fine for an over night stay. Go for the food, but maybe stay somewhere else.

Relaxing and friendly.

Lovely hotel in a lovely village I would highly recommend it

Nice gastro pub with good size rooms and excellent food and varied menu. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well and there was a good car park as well.
4.8
Our room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Very comfortable bed too. The only downsides were lack of storage as we stayed for 3 nights and only had space for 5 hangers between the two of us so had to live out of the suitcase which wasn’t ideal. Also, the emergency green light on the ceiling in the room lit the room up at night and kept us awake. That said, the food in the restaurant is outstanding and the staff were very friendly. Would stay again as the location is beautiful but hopefully in a bigger room.

Rooms vary considerably, I was allocated the Roe I appreciate the weather has been hotter than we are used to but this room was uncomfortably hot with only 1 window, which was opened for the time I was there. Staff did get a small fan but it made little difference. The Higher Buck is positioned on a road junction which is extremely busy and with the window open the noise was quite loud and disturbing. Staff did try to help but this didn't work. Food was good and place was clean.
