Good location with easy access to public transport. Catering excellent. Would have given a higher score but for one thing: the toilet facilities. Without going into gruesome detail, using the toilet required contortionist's skills when seated as the lid would not stay up.
4.2
Simple, clean and comfortable
4.2
Excellent hotel. Service great and brilliant city views. Good value too.
4.2
Excellent place. The hotel is just next to Nottingham Palace. The receptionist was very professional and gentle. The room as the perfect space for 2 adult and two small children. I loved all the little touches of kindness, like the soaps, wide selection of teas, cookies and even a relaxing aroma diffuser for the pillow. We had a pleasant night.
4.2
Good value for money. Clean and very comfy bed. 4 minutes walk to Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem Inn—a must see—and diagonally across the street from Nottingham Castle.
4.2
Good location but somewhat tired. I pre-booked the hotels underground car parking. If you do this be aware it is around 400m away and do not use if you have a large car! It’s tight, really tight…
4.2
Unfortunately my room was next to the lift and I was kept awake most of the night by the loud noise of the lift going up and down all night.

If is had been Four in a Bed i would have looked to knock money off for:
The shower, where the riser was missing an end cap, which meant the chrome had started to corrode.
Also, at breakfast it was disappointing to find there were no sausages, and even more annoying to see some on someone else's plate as we left. Obviously they were a bit slow at replenishing the tray.
Finally, it was not made clear that the ticket we were given to pay the car parking was only a discount and did not cover the full charge, which led to an embarrassing situation at the exit gate.
4.2
Hotel quite tired looking along corridors and room but very convenient city centre location
4.2
Good value city centre location with convenient parking on site.
4.2
Great time at Rock City .Hotel was convenient.
4.2
Reception staff very efficient, good service, corridors where rooms are could do with painting, good size room, great location,

The hotel is in a very good location, with the castle a short walk away (you can see the castle from the front of the hotel). It is also only about 10 minute walk from the train station, and a short distance from the city centre. Good size room for solo use. The only problem I had was the comfort of the bed because I have arthritis of the spine.
4.2
A great location next to the Castle, oldest pub and super restaurants . Car park is a little awkward and its pot luck whether the exit/ entrance will be clear ( not the hotels fault!) Do drop your luggage off first as theres no direct access via car park.
I damaged my calf muscle at the beginning of my stay and the staff could not have been more helpful and considerate. Special shout out to 'Alex'(f) and 'Maddie' who really went the extra mile. Would stay again.
4.2
Excellent stay one night for the cricket 8 of us no complaints from anyone great breakfast as well
4.2
Perfect location for city centre. Stayed in room called Crash Pad which is a small double basically for one person and included good tv, tea and coffee with kettle, iron and ironing board and hairdryer. This room looked out on to National Car Park so quite noisy. Staff very helpful. Breakfast was good with choice of continental or cooked. Everything was help yourself which was no problem.
4.2
The hotel was lovely. Loved the 'dream spray' in our room! Wish there was more ventilation in the room and bathroom as it was quite warm but there was a plug in fan to use. Overall, really lovely stay.
4.2
Nice room - lovely staff -quiet
4.2
Stayed here after day at Trent Bridge cricket. Just over 30 minute walk to Trent Bridge. Would definitely consider again when back in Nottingham
4.2
Tiniest room ever. No air conditioning but a half broken fan was provided.
4.2
It was average - shower was stuck on very hot so could not use.
4.2
So close to the castle, very nice

Had a lovely stay in st. James. Friendly staff
No issues got an upgrade which was appreciated
4.2
Great as always
Stopped here several times now
4.2
It was nice will go there again
4.2
The staff were very pleasant. The room was dark and didn’t have any aircon. To be fair ot doesn’t claim to have aircon, but the room was uncomfortably hot.
4.2
A comfortable hotel, in good condition and really handy location. Staff friendly. Room could do with air con but other than that all good
4.2
The property is in a great location. Rooms are nicely furnished. Breakfast was pretty good with quite a few food options.
4.2
Staff was very helpful and allowed us to leave our bags until it was time to check in.
4.2
Lovely hotel however could do with fan or something as so unbearably hot in the room and could not sleep. Need to consider changes in UK and invest in some aircon
4.2
The hotel was advertised as boutique but we felt it didn’t live up to that standard. The lifts were shabby and the decor was impressive in reception on arrival but throughout the hotel less so. The shower head in our bathroom wouldn’t stay upright so we ended up having to hose ourselves rather than have a shower. It seems a small thing but was disappointing when you consider how much we had to pay for the stay.
4.2
Great location and good food
4.2
Only there one night. Arrived late and left early, but it got the job done.
4.2
First room was very small, second room was very hot and heating couldn’t be controlled. I couldn’t be bothered moving to a third room.
Breakfast was good, lots of choice.
4.2
Affordable comfortable rooms , very helpful staff

What a wonderful stay’s being so close to Nottingham Castle was icing on the cake!!! Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff.!!

Great stay
4.2
Struggled to find the place got sat navved. The room was not huge but the bed was very comfortable I got some quality sleep and the breakfast was very good with a wide choice. Very convenient for the city centre. Car parking was a touch expensive £15.95 for 24hrs in the old narrow laned multi storey virtually next door. I could have saved some money getting the NCP app prior then it would have been £9. But it was all a bit last minute as I had been bumped from a booking elsewhere that fell through.
4.2
Lovely hotel clean, room lovely , small double i booked which was compact but was fine for a day , shower wasn't the best not all the jets in shower head were letting water out, staff were lovely, didnt eat there but had a drink, no view in 110, just some windows and building ,
4.2
Small but comfortable room and adequate for one night stay, staff polite and friendly.
