We had a great time staying at this lovely home! Clean, spacious and great location. We loved the special treats and check in from the home owner. Highly recommend!

All of our guests were immediately impressed by this home. The accommodations were immaculate, supplies were provided for anything we needed and extra treats were left to welcome us. I grilled one night on the back patio and enjoyed the view of the park and neighborhood.
The BEST house we have stayed in this year!

I cannot say enough about the kind and caring host. Schannette is the absolute best to work with. She was from beginning to end an amazing communicator. The property is fantastic. It is spotless, spacious, and has everything you need. I definitely recommend staying here. It will meet all your needs.

This home is in a quiet location and within walking distance for coffee, food, etc. Parking was easy. Home had everything you needed to enjoy your stay. It was stocked with water, snacks, toiletries, plenty of towels, paper goods, and the like. Beds were comfy and the ability to control the air was a must; it was definitely cool. Seating for eating and relaxing was also comfy. Though we spent most of our days out and about, it was nice to come back to a place that felt like home. I am definitely recommending this location as a great place to stay.

Although we chose this home because of its proximity to the Washington Hospital Center, we really enjoyed the home and the neighborhood. Bloomindale is a charming neighborhood, and the home is directly next to a small park where families have picknicks with small children and folks are walking their dogs. A great location to explore DC from and then get away from the hustle and bustle while still being in the middle of it all. A very clean and spacious home. The owner, Schannette, was a delight to work with. We definitely recommend this home!

I felt at home as soon as I walked in. It’s a wonderful home with a beautiful kitchen, lovely deck, and a fabulous little park right outside the back door. There are some convenient shops and restaurants nearby. It’s a great house in a great neighborhood… what’s not to love? The floors are a bit ‘slopey’, but that’s what character is all about. I would say, however, but if you have party members with mobility issues - you may find the stairs a challenge - as there are no bedrooms in the ground floor. That wasn’t an issue for use, however. We loved it!

We really enjoyed our stay in DC. We were celebrating a high school graduation with family and it was the largest group we ever tried to travel with. The house was clean and gave us the space we needed. Worth noting that the Metro station is a 15-20 min walk. We did not mind this at all, but some might. There is a lovely little park out back and we enjoyed sitting on the deck watching people walk their dogs and play with kids.

Stayed for our daughter’s college graduation. House was great, very well stocked, back deck was a plus.

Host was excellent and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. House and location were great and had everything we could want. Highly recommend.

This was the most welcoming VRBO we have ever stayed at. The host responded quickly to all questions and was particularly helpful in getting us a car tag for parking. The home was immaculate and very comfortable. Don't worry if you forgot something, it was stocked from snacks, water, soap, etc..... We enjoyed the deck daily after visiting the state's capitol. the neighbors were very friendly. I highly recommend this home. We would rent this home again.

First time in DC…. Wow were we lucky with the decision to book this place! Ultra clean….. beautiful neighborhood…… close to everything…. Host was very easy to communicate with!
Thank you for ALL of the extras ~ we also have a VRBO property and I thought we supplied adequate things but you definitely go over and beyond! Very nice touch! Best home we have ever stayed in.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It was perfect for our group of 7. The house was clean and comfortable. The host left many little extras that were a nice surprise! It is a 15-20 minute walk to the Shaw Metro station so there is easy access to all the downtown attractions. Highly recommended!

My family met up in DC for the long weekend because our daughter goes to GWU. We had never been to the Bloomingdale section of DC and wanted to try it out. The row house on V street listed as dog friendly and near a park, so we took our chances. We absolutely loved it! The home is beautiful, spacious, warm, inviting and just lovely. The park behind the house and the surrounding neighborhood are wonderful. The Bloomingdale community is unlike any other I have visited. We just adored it.

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spot for our stay with 3 teenagers. The boys were able to have the room with 2 beds, our girl had a room to herself and then the spacious master suite was great. We were all ready to space out at the end of long sight seeing days!
We’ve stayed at many VRBOs and Schannette goes above and beyond with the extras she provides (snacks, water, toiletries). We got in a bit earlier than check-in while they were still cleaning from the previous guests but she graciously let us drop our bags there so we could walk and explore. We did eat at a couple of restaurants that were close within walking distance. The teens raved that the wings at the DC City Smokehouse were the best they’d ever had :) The neighborhood is very cute, quiet and safe.
My husband and I did explore our transportation options the first day and walked to the metro by Howard University and went downtown. We walked around a bit then took the metro back. It’s about a mile walk to the station from the house so we decided for the sake of our sanity with the kids and to save a few steps going forward we’d Uber to the downtown area which worked out well. Truthfully traffic here is crazy so walking can be faster. It’s all personal preference.
If we’re ever back in the DC area is definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

We had a great stay in this home. The beds were comfy, and the house was well stocked with everything needed including snacks, coffee, tea, and bottled water.
We were travelling with dogs, and the dog park directly behind the house was great! It was decorated for Christmas and very well kept. This was a huge consideration for us as we had two dogs with us.
We were able to park a Suburban in the parking spot behind the house which was great too. I wasn't sure it would fit, because the listing stated two medium cars, but the space was deep enough for the Suburban with no problem. The walk to the metro took about 20 minutes which wasn't ideal in the rain (although the house does have umbrellas in it for your use which was great). After the first day of walking, we drove to all the places we visited and had to pay $20-$30 a day to park. That said, if travelling with our dogs again we would definitely choose this house because it is a great find for our DC trip.

This property had so many perks! From snacks, to many different coffee flavors, the toiletries were great as well.
Fabulous location to get downtown. Bedding was very comfortable, kitchen had everything you'd need.
The only thing id want to stress is that the stairs were really steep, so my elderly sister felt insecure climbing them without assistance.
I'd love to come back again with my adult children!

Schanette goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay, including snacks and toiletries. The house is large and well equipped and we enjoyed evenings on the back deck.

The place is super clean. I felt very comfortable having my children, ages 6 and 1, sit on the floor and play. The off street parking is definitely tight for two cars but we made it work. We were slightly disappointed that the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was out of order but not a huge deal. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans and dishes. I had no trouble cooking meals. Overall if felt very spacious. We had four adults and two kids and we had planty of space to relax. The park right behind the place is a super convenient area to walk your dog. Generally speaking it is a nice neighborhood.

Great property and location..with history! The owner had lots of convenient extras...snacks, water, toiletries, cable, and tips, for our comfort and ease. We had a great time and rested well every night. We'd definitely stay again!

Very nice property with everything you need to have a great stay. Plenty of room for our group of seven to spread out and also enjoy family time. The artwork is great and we really enjoyed the back deck that looked over the neighborhood park. The main bedroom had a very nice bathroom that my in laws really enjoyed. Several very good restaurants within walking distance. Short taxi drive to downtown though the metro was a bit of a walk if you have elderly ppl with you! Our group was very impressed with this property!

We have stayed in many vacation rentals across the East Coast, and this one really set the bar high. I was a bit apprehensive, because I never book without other reviews, and this didn’t have any at the time, but I was overwhelmed by the care given, not just to the home, but in the consideration towards the visitors. I everything is as shown. Not only did Shenette reach out ahead of time to be sure I had all my parking needs, but when I missed some of the street signage regarding the street cleaning schedule, she took care of the ticket. Sidenote: pay extra close attention to the signs! The location is close enough that, with good weather, we were able to walk to museums and monuments (about an hour each way). Comfortable beds, home full of character and history, and a home owner that knows what you need and provides it. I wish she could provide lessons on how to share your home!
