About this house rental
Welcome to The Lakeview - in beautiful Red Wing!
As you drive up to The Lakeview, you'll believe you've reached a traditional ranch style home but when you step inside the front door, you'll realize this is MUCH, MUCH more! The Lakeview is a majestic home situated on the bluffs of Wacouta Bay, overlooking the mouth of the Mississippi River. Bald Eagles nests can be seen across the bay, and visitors will see many eagles fishing and teaching their young to fly.

This space has hideaway walls that allow the deck to be open, or drop the sides and you're enclosed in a wonderful porch that has ceiling heaters to take the chill out of those cool evenings. The home also includes a large soaking tub, double sinks in the main level bathroom, walking trails that are 50' from the home, and a massive yard to run, play and enjoy all that the outdoors have to offer you here. We absolutely loved booking with Minnestay! The location was beautiful, clean, and inviting. Minnestay was incredibly responsive, kind, and hospitable. Highly recommended.

This was a vacation for us and all we wanted to do was get some rest. We spent most of our time on the main floor to take advantage of the spectacular views. The house is on a huge bluff above Lake Pepin, we saw eagles up close, hummingbirds, butterflies, bunnies, trains running on the other side of the water, boats fishing, a babbling fountain and flowers in the back yard, barges tugging things slowly up and down the lake. There was endless sources of entertainment just outside.
I only have three very nit-picky downsides - first, there were a few very minor things that needed fixing - light bulbs out in the kitchen, toilet paper roll that tilted every time you touched it, single brewer coffee machine that should be thrown. Second, I really wish Minnestay would give us the code for the house a day or two before the trip. We didn't get it until the afternoon of our arrival date. They have security set up to only allow the code to work starting at time of check in- so why not destress us a little and let us know the code before we make the long journey? Third, the only TV is down in the basement - a small cave like room - beautifully appointed, but no windows / view.
Again, those were all very minor - and the house suited our needs perfectly! If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to stay with fabulous views of nature - this is the place!

Took day trips to tour colleges with our oldest son, and this location worked great. Sparkling clean. Very quiet. What a view! We didn’t turn the TV on the whole time we were there because we just hung by the fire and enjoyed the view. Proximity to Red Wing, very convenient!

We absolutely loved our stay at this VRBO property! The view was simply spectacular and added a magical touch to our entire experience. The big dining room table was a hit – we used it for delicious meals, exciting games, and even conquered a challenging puzzle.
We decided to take the bikes for a spin along the trail, which was a fun addition to our trip. However, if you're a serious cyclist planning long rides, it's worth mentioning that the bikes on-site are more on the vintage side. Consider bringing your own for those extended journeys.
The check-in and check-out process was a breeze, making the whole experience even more convenient. Although we didn't do much cooking at the property, we did notice a shortage of pots, pans, and food storage items, which might need some improvement.
The property's decor was tastefully done, and it was spotlessly clean. For a weekend getaway, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this place, especially if you want to soak in that stunning view and make memories around the dining room table.

We stayed at the house for a family wedding weekend. The house was great! Only wish we had more time to enjoy it. Some items in kitchen were in strange places so you do have to look around a little and we never did find coffee filters but still really enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed the fire pit at night, watching the boats on the river during the day, visiting the Red Wing bluffs, visiting the Wabasha Eagle Center, getting ice cream at the Nelson Creamery. The place was perfect for us. We liked the huge lower level to watch family videos.

What you see from the front view is very misleading. The property is all updated. The views are incredible and they have an awesome screen porch that we enjoyed.

What A View. The property should be checked for chiggers or bed bugs

Nice house with beautiful views. If watching the day time traffic on the river wasnt enough The oriel nest in the neighbors tree made for an enjoyable week of relaxing.

We loved this property! It was a moms weekend away from our kids. It was so peaceful- we loved the screened-in porch! There were several eagles flying around the property and sitting in the tree on the property. We really enjoyed this beautiful home. Thank you!
