Location
When we arrived, the apartment was very cold and humid. The heating wasn’t working. We complaint. Someone came to check on it, by the time someone came we were out. When we arrived back there was a note saying the heating was fixed but it wasn’t. There was no central heating for the entire stay what wasn’t very pleasant.
The apartment was very dusty plus it is very close to a very busy road, extremely noisy.

No heating in house, central heating boiler not working all week even though gas repair engineer worked on boiler. Still cut out no Heat just electric heater that where inadicate
3.5
Good location despite being on a busy road
Needs a deep clean
Central heating needs replacing, works randomly. This is obviously know as there are a number of plug in heaters supplied.
No gas supply to the gas fire, why have it?
Random odd pieces of crockery, at least buy a cheap set
Oven needs cleaning

Two bathrooms were a bonus. Lovely kitchen, and use of private garden across the road. We stayed when the weather was glorious and I used the garden to sit in & relax.
Enjoyed the walk into Ambleside, and the Roman Fort.
The hot water was not plentiful for bath and showers. Spiders web had spent considerable time, making their presence felt. These really should have been removed.
There were recycle bins & general bins available. However no instructions left for collection days.Parking a little limited if guests had arrived in separate cars.
Eccentric plug socket arrangements in main bedroom.

The whole experience as well as the kitchen facilities and gadgets provided
There could have been clarity regarding the heating and hot water system

The easy access to Ambleside and local footpaths. A great kitchen with a good range of appliances. Comfortable and welcoming.
The bottom step of the stairs was dangerous as it wasn't covered in carpet - we slipped on it several times as we couldn't see it in the dark. Instruction booklets for the gadgets would be good. We only had a very thin quilt on our bed during very cold weather, and no extra blankets. I would recommend providing these for guests. I think 4 adults would struggle to fit around the table, too. We did enjoy our stay, but we felt that these issues did let it down a little, and they are easy to solve.

The busy road we had to cross with our little dogs, to get to the garden

The double bed was comfy and it was nice to have shared access to a somewhat rundown garden by the river.
15 minute walk to get to Ambleside mainly along a busy road. This property was immediately at the edge of the busy road so no sense of the peace and tranquility one usually finds at the Lakes. The dining area was far too small for 4 to eat comfortably.
Unfortunately the property had not been cleaned when we arrived! Sykes Cottages who managed it did a great job with turning it around in 2 hours and they did give us £50 to entertain ourselves while they cleaned it but it was not a great start to a holiday with foreign guests!

once we found it .. was not easy .. we really liked it. Central location, nice facilities.
Wethought the lack of basic supplies was frustrating. No soap in the bathroom supplies and a little paper towels would have been really nice

We liked it as it was home from home feel.Comfortable to relax and eat in it's open stable door kitchen.Beautiful kitchen. The lovely decor was good with quirky features to enjoy.Huge fireplace and leather Chesterfields sofas.Central heating and Hot water was great along with WiFi.Bathrooms were clean, one had a shower and one had a bath, both had sinks and toilets. The double bedroom upstairs was nice huge space but no en suite.Plenty of drawers n wardrobe spaces.Off the twin bedroom was a door to a small courtyard with iron table n chairs nice tiny space.Overall a beautiful property with a 15 minute walk into town.
The twin beds were ok just a little too basic could of needed an extra comfyness to match the feel of the cottage.Roomy with plenty of drawers n wardrobe spaces. Some wardrobe knobs were missing but was ok.

Great location just outside of Ambleside and within walking distance. Lovely riverside garden just over the road. Lovely cosy house with plenty of bedroom space and two bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen.
Good WiFi. Central heating is easy and efficient.
A bit of a shame there was no toilet roll supplied and only soap in one bathroom. No other toiletries supplied. The thimbleful of washing up liquid in the welcome pack is a waste of plastic.
Extras like this aren't expensive and would give an otherwise fantastic house a more luxurious feel.
