About this house rental
Sunshine Daze is a cozy and inviting home to accommodate the entire family! The lake is right in your backyard and wildlife abounds! This spacious home boasts 4 queen beds and 4 twin beds (bunk and twin w/ trundle) has hardwood floors throughout, is surrounded by trees and offers a layout that enables family and friends to gather indoors in the large open concept kitchen/dining/living area on the main level or in the large open lower level. Enjoy your morning coffee or for a relaxing dinner on the deck. The very large back yard with lots of trees for privacy is a great space for the kids or a friendly game of cornhole . The kitchen is well stocked with everything the chef in your group may need. Guests are welcome to responsibly use the portable firepit, 4 kayaks and paddle boats. The community boat ramp is available nearby.

House was generally as described and we did enjoy our stay, however a few things to note for improvement:
The cleaners need to do a better job. For example, the refrigerator was not cleaned out and we had to remove and wash the shelves. Bathtub drain was partially clogged so water did not properly drain. The beds in the kids room were not made.
While the house has 5 bedrooms the dining table only sat 4 people. That said, we were aware of that when we rented so we brought our own table and chairs to be able seat all of our party,

Boat house was left in a messy state making the enclosed space unusable with all the water toys piled in it. Also the screens were missing from all but one side of the room. Fortunately for us, the mosquitos were not too bad.
Lastly, there is a conflict in checkout time between what is in the VRBO ad and what the Property Manager's instructions were. That said the PM recognized that and honored what was published in the VRBO ad.
All in all, we did enjoy our stay but there can be room for improvement.

This property has great potential. The way the house is set up is perfect for families with kids. The kitchen is spacious, but cooking/prep supplies is hit or miss-no large bowls for salads or mixing. There were lots of pots and pans, dishes, glassed, cups, eating utensils, although some still had dried food remains in them when I pulled from the cupboard to use. As mentioned in other reviews, the house was not very clean. Carpets were vacuumed, but our 2 year old swept the floor in the family room and got lots of dirt up when we arrived. Several toilets were not clean.
The house is pet friendly, with dog crates downstairs, beds in several places and even feeding mat for the bowls. We did find a kitchen knife on one of them when we arrived.
The dock area needs repair and clean-up, It was lovely to sit out there and the lake right off the dock was perfect for the 2 year old as it is not deep. We also enjoyed having kayaks to putter around in with the kids. The covered area on the dock was a mess, dirty with lots of floating tubes strewn around, table covered in dirt. However, the fishing lures, with hooks, laying around, on the floor (where I found before our 11 month-old did) and table was scary. Now, it’s explicitly stated in the handbook of the property that the use of the dock is at your own risk, but I would think that meant swimming and use of the boats……
So, with serious work to repair/clean, it could be lovely. Now, not worth the $600/dy (incl tax & fees)

This is a lovely and spacious house. All rooms are very good size. And the back yard is big too. Remember all the things you like to bring to lake front. The water temperature is very warm which is exactly what we like. The cons:
1. Even there are 4 kayaks and 2 paddle boats. There are only 2 paddles so you can only take 2 kayaks at the same time most. One of the paddle boat is broken.
2. There is no life jacket. I wish they would mention in the listing or reminding renter after the booking that you need to bring your own life jackets because we have couples at home and can bring them if we know in advance.
3. We have to unload the dishes in dishwasher when we arrived. They are clean but doesn't the cleaning crew should unload them instead of the next renter?
4. In the welcome book, it states all paper, plastic should be put in recycle bin. But I can't find any and message the host. The answer is there is none. Obviously it has been a while that they update the welcome book.

The property and Location Are very quiet and beautiful. The house and Equipment needs a Lot of updates, Deep cleaning and repairs. Lots of Wear and tear that for the price seems Not ok. Would Not stay there again.

A group of friends traveling from different locations came into town for a 50th birthday party of a full time resident who lives nearby. We had trouble getting the code sent to us so we could get into the house. There was confusion whether or not linens were provided (they are) but it was not posted under amemities. Some of the sheets were already on the beds so it wasn't clear if they were clean or someone forgot to strip the bed on the last stay. Since they were wrinkled we errored on the side that they were slept on. We tried to find new sheets in the house but luckily we had a few on hand because the linen issue was not clear from the get go. Be careful that NONE of your guests have pet allergies. The house is pet-friendly. One of our guests has a severe allergy to cats & dogs and woke up with swollen eyes and had an allergy attack. A previous guest must have let their pet sleep on the beds. The house was not the cleanest...mostly the floors - there was a lot of pet hair. The cleaners need a better vacuum. Overall, the house suited our needs and we had a place to stay to attend our friends party.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at lake Anna. The property was perfect for our group, we had a mix of adults, teens, younger children and a dog. The property was well equipped with plenty of water toys, we definitely got tons of use out of the kayaks and paddle board. The dock was a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the lake, although some spots the wooden decking was a little rough. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The Wi-Fi was a little slow but we didn’t mind as we were there to relax and unplug. We had a fantastic time and would definitely rent again!!

First and foremost, thank you for sharing and allowing us to stay in your home on our recent first-time visit to Lake Anna. We found it to be perfect to meet our needs in space, location, amenities and opportunity to enjoy the Lake.
The house was bright, very clean, well-maintained, beautifully decorated in "lake-style" decor and equipped with everything we needed. The property/yard is very well-maintained. With 7 adults and 4 small children, everything inside and out including bedroom and bathroom layout was ideal.
The appliances were all clean and in good working order. The washer/dryer was greatly appreciated.
The lake access and front yard was perfect for our grandchildren to enjoy the water and the adults to enjoy the dock, fishing, yard games and an evening fire-pit dinner of mountain pies, hot dogs and s'mores. All enjoyed the many rides on the lake in the paddle boats, kayaks and paddleboard.
We greatly appreciated the pet-friendly option as our 13 year old dog does not do well away from our special needs son.
The locate was private and quiet yet close enough to stores for a "quick run" for groceries or supplies.
We definitely would recommend this property to anyone wanting a quiet retreat and would certainty book again.

We loved our visit to the lake! It was so peaceful, the kids had a blast and the dogs had plenty of yard to run. The adults had as much fun as the kids!

Over-all the house was clean and spacious for our needs. The boat landing is right next to the property and the amenities were as stated.
My only gripe was finding out that the property does not supply bed linens. Really?? Who brings 5 Queen size bed linens on vacation? Let alone who owns that many? They'll supply them upon request for a $100 charge. This information was not conveyed prior to our arrival. I have stayed at several other homes around Lake Anna and this was a first. Aside from that, the outside trash can was over flowing when we arrived with trash which was emptied at our request but not before some critters decided to rip our bag open and have a field day. The ring camera and security cameras are a little intrusive but i understand why they are there. The dock was stable and secured our boat but is old and splintering everywhere.
As i stated, overall we were pleased with the appearance and location but for what I paid my standards are high and for what your charging you standards should be to!

A beautiful secluded location right on the lake! The house had plenty of room for the entire extended family-plenty of sleeping options. Just be aware that you have to take your own linens and all toiletries (no soap, shampoo, etc.). In addition, the property only had one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, one roll of paper towels, and one garbage bag. The house was fairly clean, but needs a deep clean. The view from the deck is wonderful, but the deck (both front and back) needs some serious attention! Having the kayaks and paddle boats was super fun - kids loved being on the lake.

Clean, comfortable Fruniture. We did have fun, but would not consider renting there again until grill works (missing the bottom-drippings all over the propane tank from prior renters-pretty gross and the grates are covered in rust and rotted out) and the basement ceiling had water dripping. The whole decking needs to be replaced, the bannister on the deck is wobbly and unsafe. There was no plan for what we should do with the garbage. We were told to keep the garbage in the house, really?! There were no external trash cans.
The Fruniture at the dock only had 2 chairs that were usable, the rest were rotted. Since we were renting in March, we were looking forward to a fireplace.
A last minute text from the owner stated the fireplace was not working. What a let down.
It was not prepared for renters. We saved our money to rent a house, and frankly felt we were deceived by the conditions.
Looking for consideration from the owner as we did not get what we paid for.

The house was clean, spacious and pet friendly! The area is private and quiet with an expansive backyard and convenient lakefront access. Check-in was easy and host was communicative. There was no "to do" list like some hosts require (beyond supplying linens). The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. We really enjoyed our family lake house getaway!
