Excellent(501 Reviews)4.4
We’ve stayed in many small rooms in Japan, but while those were tiny, they were also excellently planned. This one was just small, with no planning whatsoever, and felt very uncomfortable for two people.
On the positive side, everything was new, and the staff was very friendly. Also, quiet area in spite of the neighborhood.
4.4
Small room for thee people (and their suitcases), but functional. Sofabed was not very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and diversified (a rare thing in Japanese hotels...)
4.4
Rooms are very small with next to no storage. Clean and staff were extremely helpful and unbeatable location.
4.4
We had a great stay. Very nice hotel with a good quality/price ratio. The standard rooms are a bit small and we would have enjoyed a cupboard.
The lounge area with a very cheap 2 hours drinks package was great to hangout before dinner.
The surrounding area is red light district. But we felt all safe and enjoyed the nearby restaurants.
4.4
The staff are nice and really doing their best. We were not satisified with the following:
1. Surrounding area - yes the hotel is located in the heart of Shunjuku but still requires 10-15mins of walking to the nearest subway. At night the area is busy, in the morning the area is quite dirty. You will easily catch ppl drunk on the streets and garbage around. (I even saw a dead mouse, first time ever in my past 3 visits to Tokyo)
2. The hotel room is small as exepcted but the AC, it kept blowing to our head doesnt matter how we position our sleeping position. Also the room is dusty, the rail for hanging clothes or even the door frame
4.4
The hotel was very clean and the staff amazing. It is good that they have laundry machines avalilable. Near Shinjuku station (6-7 blocks). The only note is that is within red district

Traditional Japanese room. Bathroom/shower/tub were great.

My stay here was wonderful! The staff was great and very friendly. The rooms were nice and clean. The hotel is right in-between kabukicho and Shinjuku so you are right in the middle of great food, entertainment, and nightlife. I can’t wait to be back!
4.4
Great location in Shinjuku, if your looking for affordability, centralized location, AND good atmosphere.
This location is near night life, food, 10ish minute walk to the Shinjuku hub station.
The staff was friendly and great to work with. The room was just what we needed for our 1st stop in Japan.
Do not recommend if you have younger kids.

Nice hotel despite being in the red light district of Shinjuku

Room is tidy and clean.
Bathroom also clean.
Water pressure is strong!
That was a good experience, I will come again.

Staff were great and the rooms and building were very clean and well-maintained.

We loved our stay at the amanek. The staff were so polite and the amenities were great!
Pros
-convinent location
-clean
-aircon was very effective
-communal lounge area was perfect for eating dinner from combini
-free water refills
-microwave, washing machines available
Cons
-every hotel in tokyo is tiny, cant hold it against them
-it would be good to have a place to put rubbish when the bin in the room gets full

Very good stay experience

Good place to stay in Shinjuku 👍

New, modern boutique hotel. Small room but functional. Staffs are great. Convenient location. Walkable to Shinjuku train station. Located in a high-energy entertainment area, I think the location is fun for young people but not great for family with kids. Nothing to complain about the hotel though.
4.4
Rooms are small, not enough space to open your luggage, bit of a walk to the station, and located in the heart of the Red Light District. Safe but seedy area for families. Free TV is essentially Youtube news stories, and there are limited room amenities other than soap and tooth brushes. Essentially a basic 3 star type hotel, nothing bad, but not particularly great either. Cannot comment on the food as we did not want to overpay for food with so many other options in the area. One of the only places that can accommodate three people.

Relatively new hotel. Ideally situated within 10mins walk of numerous subway stations in the heart of Kabukicho, always felt very safe even late at night.
Very welcoming staff. Clean room, large enough for one. Opting for the Japanese style double (in error) so it was mattress on the floor but it was so comfortable. Separate shower and bath, plenty of shower pressure. An all round great stay, highly recommended

It was great

Shinjuku is an area no Family Friendly with Kids. I was really worry during night time to go out with my family. Really, crowd and a lot of College and Young people hang out spot.

The staff at the Amanek were very hospitable and you felt welcomed from the moment you walked thru the door. While the room was on the smaller side it was perfect for us friends travelling together - it had absolutely everything we needed. The lounge was a real nice amenity in the evenings. Thank you for a great stay!!

Great hotel, great room!! Located in the red light district area. I would still recommend the hotel. Its great and close to everything. If you not bothered by the red light district in the evening then this is a great hotel.
4.4
This is a very nice hotel to stay in. Very satisfied with facilities and services. We will definitely be back.

If you are looking for a very clean place to rest for the night this hotel was great. It was right in the Kabuchiko area of Shinjuku. While the room wasn’t very big it had all you needed. The shower and bath was a good size. Especially being the room was relatively small. The air conditioning, at least in my experience was the best working and easy to use for a Japanese hotel. The hotel felt new and very clean. The staff were friendly.
4.4
Very well positioned, nice rooms and great staff
4.4
Nice hotel in a poor area
4.4
Very clean and comfortable. Location cant be beat. The room size is a pleasant surprise especially for the price! The bathroom has a separate tub and shower room / area and thr water pressure is heavenly. Breakfast is great and they even give each person a welcome drink ticket. 100% would book again in future visits

Hotel is new, rooms are small but very modern and clean. Area is sketchy and far from the Shinjuku train station. But for the $$ and the cleanliness of the property, I felt it was a great deal .

Clean and nice

rooms were not cleaned daily, every 3rd day ??
4.4
Had a great stay! Small but super clean and nice rooms. Comfortable beds.
4.4
Clean, comfy beds, quite very close to Shinjuku action
4.4
Excellent hôtel, clean and modern. Excelent shower.Amazing service. Free reusable water bottle to refill from the hotel in the lounge area.
Plenty of restaurants around the hotel.
Only thing to point out is that it’s next to the Kabukicho club scene. It’s still quiet but expect walking through that area to get to metro station.
4.4
The breakfast is worst, I believe hotel internal staffs left good review in regards about how good is the hotel breakfast offer there. The basement near the breakfast room smell like a toilet. I was there for more than 10 days, every day it smells tge same no one clean the basement facility area.
4.4
Good price for a small clean room in a busy neighborhood.
4.4
Place is very close to clubs and restaurants as well as many convenience stores. Walkable to train stations and right around shinjuku city. You can’t get lost around the area! Love the buffet breakfast. I wish they would change the menu everyday. Overall it’s Highly recommended!

This property was near various convenience stores and business to enjoy such as food and entertainment.
