About this house rental
A newly built single-level studio is perfect for couples or business travel. Amenities include a kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, Keurig, induction cooktop, grill, electric fireplace, luxury cotton linens, & plush king mattress.
The unit provides filtered lake views on a quiet street with plenty of driveway parking for vehicles and RV hookups (220 hookups may also be used for EV’s). Walking distance to Knotty Pines Marina, Big Cove, and Lake Almanor Resorts, restaurants, and convenience store. You’ll love the deep forest feel, but close to so many amenities.
Adjoining main house (also a short-term rental and can be booked together for more space + full kitchen and laundry), but lots of space between the buildings. You have your own dedicated driveway large enough for RV + 1 vehicle and fairly flat. Corner driveway and studio. Garages are for the other Big Dipper listing, however if you need access, feel free to ask us ahead of time. Small garage attached to the unit has a grill that guests will have access too through the use of a garage opener. The space is your own and we are not far away if you need us. Always a message or call away.
You might see other guests staying in the Big Dipper house, but you have separate spaces, parking, entrances and common areas. Lake Almanor of course! :-) Luciano's Cucina Di Pasta, Il Lago & Carlos Mexican Food
Plenty of parking for cars and during summer you can rent bikes.
Stargazer is a shared property with the Little Dipper Studio and Big Dipper 2BD/2BA, which can be booked together, if you’d like more space and/or the property all to yourself.
During the Covid outbreak we are taking extra cleaning precautions and happy to host. If you need space and fresh air this is the place. Big Dipper and Little Dipper are separated by 40 feet and a common lawn. They have separate driveways, parking, and outdoor seating. There are external cameras on walkways, garage and entrances. A garage door keypad access code will be provided giving guests access to the grill.
We love dogs at Stargazer. We ask that you never leave your pet unattended, never allow them up on the furniture, and please clean up after your dog. Only one dog is allowed in this unit. If you plan on bringing more than one dog prior approval is needed and an extra cleaning fee will be charged. ($25/dog/night)
There is NO smoking or vaping allowed on the property.
Please remember that this is a rural property that is shared with Mother Nature. You may or may not see wildlife that can include, but not limited to, bears, deer, foxes, skunks, opossums, squirrels, mice, spiders, and mosquitoes. Please help us mitigate this risk of meeting wildlife by not leaving food outside or in your car. Lock and secure all trash receptacles and ensure your pets are secure on leashes at all times.
Finally, since our property is in CA, we are prone to rolling blackouts. These blackouts affect power and the internet. We have no control over when these blackouts occur, and while they’re short in duration, they can be an inconvenience to some guests. Most guests who experience the blackouts understand it’s temporary and enjoy the peace and quiet of this amazing property; however, if you are one that needs to be connected 24/7 with zero interruptions then this may not be the property for you. While we do have a generator, as well as, Starlink internet, the town and surrounding areas are affected much more than we are so please keep that in mind when booking.
Please consider this prior to booking as there are no refunds due to inconveniences.

Clean, comfy, and great location.
Communication with owners was appropriate and efficient.

"Cabin" is the description for an excellent 2/3 garage conversion (long and narrow). Too small, thus can't give a 5 star review. "Too small", meaning no dresser so clothes kept in suitcases (2 of us). No room for suitcases creating cramped quarters and safety issues. Beautiful place (great attention to detail) but would NOT stay there again.

Very efficient little apartment with a nice setting in a wooded community, though not close to lake. Nice to have cocktails in the evening in the clear piney air.
