About this house rental
Welcome to the Hudson Hideaway House, a charming historic home located just 3 blocks from downtown Hudson and 2 blocks from the St. Croix River. Our private setting offers a peaceful river-view retreat while still being close to all the action. Inside, you'll find all the amenities and extras you need for a super clean and comfortable stay. We invite you to experience the beauty of Hudson at our dog-friendly home!
The space
The house is set away from others on the block, nestled under the trees. Hence why we call it the Hudson Hideaway House! Close to all the action, but private enough to cozy up after a long day on the river or sightseeing. The large primary room is upstairs with an attached spa-like bathroom and large closet. The main floor bedrooms are smaller but very functional for what guests need during their stay. There are 6 total bed situations - one sofa bed, one full bed, one trundle bed, one cot/pull out ottoman stored on back porch, one queen bed (a king would not fit going up the staircase!) and a pack and play.
Guest access
Entire home. Excluded in access are: garage, basement crawl space, and the under-the-stair locked owners closet.
Neighborhood description
We are the second house in on our street, off the main road that you’ll walk to go into downtown. Great area with friendly people! Hudson is a dog-friendly community and we’ve never had an issue with other people’s dogs while here. Across the street is the beautiful and historic Phipps Mansion (currently undergoing some renovations- you may experience some construction noise). The Octagon House/Museum sits almost kitty corner from us. You can see the St. Croix River from our front yard. Just two blocks walk to the river, and three to downtown. We can get to our favorite restaurant in 5 minutes by foot.
Getting around
We have two driveways at the house. Feel free to park a total of three cars on property! This is a great find for being so close to downtown. No guest parking allowed on the street per the City of Hudson's parking ordinances. Parking guides are available in the house for downtown parking. If you don’t have to drive, we suggest taking the lovely 3 block walk to downtown and river! Uber is available in the area as well.
Other details to note
While we are equipped to host small children and provide items to make them most comfortable, we do ask you always keep them supervised as there’s always a chance for a mishap. There is a steep staircase (baby gate provided). There are child safety locks on the under the kitchen sink items, where your cleaning items are stored. There are some furniture pieces anchored down, but not everything is.
We are as hands-on or hands-off as you prefer or need us to be. We love sharing the area with others. But if you need a relaxing getaway, we won’t bother you! We are quick to respond via the app if you need anything. We do appreciate hearing from our booked guests at least once before check-in to make sure we’ve connected and make the stay more personalized, so please introduce yourself after you book!

This house is so cute, clean and well supplied. It is in a great location also. We enjoyed it very much. It does sleep 6 easily but we did not find an office with a twin bed. The upstairs main bed and bath is great and the 2 main floor bedrooms have 1 double and 1 trundle bed respectively. We didn’t use the pullout single bed in the living area.
We would recommend this rental.

Very clean and nicely decorated home. So many nice touches. Walking distance to the shops, restaurants and river. Nice walk out on the pier. We enjoyed our stay very much. Sherri was very communicative and accommodating. The only thing we would have liked to have, was maybe a card table and chairs for more than two people to sit at a table for playing games and eating. We did move some furniture around to accommodate this during our stay, so it worked out ok.

Property was as listed, very clean and had all we needed for a girls weekend get together. Good communicatuon with owners. Short walking distance to downtown Hudson was a bonus, especially when going out for dinner, as we didn't need to drive a car downtown snd look for parking. Would stay here again.

Our stay was incredible! Sherri was very responsive with any questions we had!! The house is clean, it’s cozy, it’s comfortable - it was perfect for what we needed it for. We visited my daughter who is a student at UWRF and for her to get a break from dorm life and have a house with laundry appliances was great! Kitchen is equipped with everything we needed and we cooked almost every meal there. Loved the location too! We would definitely stay again!!

This property was fantastic! Super clean, decorated perfectly and has everything you need. Its location was only 15 minutes from the college my daughter was looking at and the town of Hudson has the cutest shops. We also got a great restaurant recommendation from Sherri. Check-in and out was super easy. If my daughter chooses to attend school out there we will definitely want to stay at this property again!

My girlfriends and I loved this cute little house. We walked everywhere in Hudson because it was so close to everything. Also enjoyed that it was pet-friendly. My puggle Rolly loved snuggling with us all. The only downside was having a dining table too small to do a 1000 piece puzzle and having only one couch for us 5 girls (and a dog). But we had a great time!

Wonderful home with everything you need for a great stay! Only comment is that the stairs are steep to the upstairs master bedroom and may be hard for an elderly family member/friend or couple to access. There is a handrail however; so it’s safe. Everything was absolutely perfect and so clean you could eat off the floor! Updated home with an unbelievable charming atmosphere!! We would have this as our first choice when staying in the area again! No one wanted to leave!! Thank you so much!!
