Escape to the woods and experience the beauty of nature in this charming, authentic log cabin. Nestled in a secluded area, this cabin is the perfect getaway for those seeking peace and quiet.

Things to note:
*must climb stairs*
*bugs including bees, stinkbugs, ladybugs, spiders, rodents turkey, deer, and other wildlife are present/unavoidable because they too live in the woods*

The cabin features a cozy living room with a fireplace, perfect for snuggling up with a good book or enjoying a glass of wine. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your meals, including a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. We have WiFi, and 2 TV's with Direct TV.

The loft (stairs to access) bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed, and there is also a sleeper sofa with memory foam mattress in the living room for extra guests. The bathroom features a stand up shower.

Outside, you'll find a spacious treehouse (outdoor living room) with plenty of seating and a grill, perfect for cooking up a delicious meal while enjoying the fresh air. The cabin is surrounded by trees, providing plenty of shade and privacy.

There are plenty of activities to enjoy in the area, including hiking, fishing, and boating. The cabin is also just a short drive from restaurants, shops, and other attractions.

*MUST climb stairs, steps and ladders* Adults are best suited for this retreat due to stairs and ladders to access the cabin and bedroom, we are not set up for children. We do have bugs, snakes, small rodents and other wildlife, being surrounded by the forest-be prepared and aware of this prior to your booking. Parking-please park in the gravel only and be aware of surroundings when pulling in and out please. Water is pumped up the hill-do not overuse water please. Septic-we are on septic, do not flush or put anything down the drains besides water and toilet paper we provide.

This authentic log cabin is a part of our family history going back to the 1800's; we recently re-located it and had it moved to our property. We built on a loft, kitchen bathroom and separate treehouse/outdoor living space.

We do have 78 acres in total : also on the property we have our personal home along with another short term rental/Maxwell Mountain Cottage (VRBO #795626) we have been hosting for 6+ years. This log cabin is located halfway up our MAIN gravel driveway; the driveway up is fairly steep but it's our daily driveway and will be shared with others. When you pull off the main gravel driveway, you will have your own gravel parking area.

Great kitchen and views. Only thing I would add are some wine glasses! Other than that, the place had everything we needed and more. The hill to get there is a great workout as well if you’re looking to go on a run. It’s a very safe neighborhood.

This was the perfect spot for our anniversary weekend! We loved the set up and seclusion of the property, yet in was only about 15 minutes from good restaurants and activities. We were able to visit some waterfalls in the area, as well. It was an amazing trip!

We loved our stay at the Love Shack. I love places with character and this cabin did not disappoint! It has the best smells of cedar wood which instantly set the tone when you walk in the door. I was in awe of the cabin finishes and cozy decor. It had everything we needed for a short stay but would definitely come back for a little longer next time! The outdoor area with a fireplace and tv has comfy furniture and a table for eating. We spent our night in the outdoor area playing cards by the fire and watching tv. So relaxing and enjoyable. Thanks to the owners for being accommodating and quickly responding to our questions. The location is nice because it’s about 15 minutes to Cookeville which has tons of restaurant options! It was about 25 minutes to Center Lake which wasn’t a bad drive…we came for the lake but honestly I wanted more time at the cabin!

This is a very cool property to relax at up in the trees. Rustic cabin that has been beautifully restored and brought up to date with all areas updated to be enjoyed. We sat outside under the covered entertainment area and relaxed for hours, only a couple of bees flew by to interrupt the silence. I will definitely stay again for a quick getaway with my wife.

Very clean. Well stalked with supplies! We loved the beautiful setting in the woods! Very private. Host brought eggs which we appreaciated! Loved sitting in the outdoor gazebo with a fire and were able to get in to Netflix right there on large screen tv. Listening to nature all around us!

Very well maintained and clean. Kitchen is well equiped. We loved the treehouse where the wind blew a cool breeze all day long. We lounged a full day lulled by the laziness that the peacefulness brought. Excellent location to anything you could need or want. Host very responsive. Nice cozy cabin nestled in the woods, quiet, peaceful but close to everything. Nicely decorated and stocked with everything you would need. Host even left us some snacks n the cutest carton of farm fresh eggs which we had for breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

The owners have done a fantastic job taking a part of their family's past and turning it into a beautiful retreat to get away from things and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Great communication throughout the process and everything was exactly as promised. Our favorite part was the "outdoor room" where could watch TV by the fireplace and feel outdoors. It was a great place to wind down after exploring many of the nearby state parks. Thanks for letting us stay and we hope to return some day.

This place is amazing! If you are looking for a private getaway to have some down time then you will not be disappointed. The cabin is very clean and very well stocked. The owners make it feel like home and has thought of pretty much everything you could possibly need. Elizabeth left a welcome platter of goodies in the fridge for us which was so nice. We enjoyed a much needed get away! Cabin was perfect- from location to decoration. We just wanted to relax and get away for a long weekend. The cabin was exactly what I wanted and more. The outside was so pretty. We loved the poplar siding and the old logs. The inside was so cozy. The kitchen was so so cute! It was well stocked with basics that we needed to cook. Every little detail was thought out perfectly. The outside space with the fireplace was so inviting. We spent most of our time there by the fire. Nate came by and was as nice in person as he and Elizabeth were while we messaged about the stay. They were quick to respond when I had questions. We absolutely loved it and will definitely make plans to go back. If you are looking for a place to get away- this is it! Thank you Elizabeth and Nate for sharing your cabin with us!

This was a great find for us! This cozy cabin tucked just outside of town in the woods was perfect for a little getaway. We found the cabin clean, stocked with the essentials we needed, and just as described. The "outdoor" living room is the perfect place to spend the morning drinking coffee and the evening enjoying each other's company. When visiting the area we will most definitely be back to The Love Shack.
