About this house rental
Step into your spacious three room suite boasting charming built in bookshelves filled with classic books, as well as wide plank hardwood floors throughout. This one bedroom, dog friendly unit boasts a king size bed with TV, ensuite bathroom, large living room with a pullout sofa, as well as a daybed.
The unit comes equipped with a coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, and newly installed mini splits.

Howland House, located at 205 Spring Street, is in one of the best locations in Newport. You are a five minute walk to famous Newport landmarks such as: Bannisters & Bowens Wharf, Trinity and St. Mary's Church and The Black Pearl Restaurant. Truly, you are in the heart of it all with dozens of restaurants, shops, bars and sights right outside your door.
Hop in your car for a 10 minute drive to both the Ocean Drive and Bellevue Avenue Preservation Society Mansions.
Windward Suites properties are all keyless, and instead use keypad smart locks for all of the doors for both the buildings and units. All guests will receive an email the morning of their arrival with the instructions, codes to the doors and Wifi. Super easy!
Check-in time is anytime after 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Please be respectful of these times unless you have contacted us, as we have a cleaning crew who need the time to do a thorough job before and after all of our guests.
There are two on site parking spots which are on a first come first serve basis, but each unit also includes a parking pass for on street parking which is usually for Newport residents only.
Howland House is a classic historic, four unit, building with the original construction dating back to 1750. It is one of Newport's oldest homes predating the Revolution. It has undergone many updates and renovations to bring new world comfort with an old world feeling.
Unit 16 is located on the first floor, and is open and airy and gives everyone plenty of space to stretch out. Aside from the large living room with a coffee station, pullout sofa and daybed, the bedroom and bathroom are filled with natural light and have ample closet space.
All of Windwards properties are professionally cleaned between guests and come outfitted in high end linens and towels.
Aside from the cleanliness of the space, it is in one of the most sought after locations in Newport. You are steps away from Thames Street, Bannisters & Bowens Wharf, St. Mary’s church, and endless restaurants, bars, and shopping.

Great spot for a few days in Newport, perfect town location and quiet and very clean place. Will rent again.

Great condo, with Perfect location. The condo was very clean, well furnished, and had all we needed to enjoy our getaway.
We loved how easy it was to walk to everything along Thames and the Wharfs, all within minutes from the property.
Only “issue” was deciding on which restaurants to eat at with an over-abundance of great options.
You can’t go wrong with this one!

Wonderful place for three friend to have a getaway. We had the best food and drinks at the local restaurants, got our steps in at the cliff walk and relaxed at the rental which had all the comforts of home.

The location was very good for walking to most everything in Newport. The room was lovely, comfortable and cozy. It was very clean. I would definitely come back to this location in the future.

We stayed at the Howland House for a wedding. The location was perfect, plenty of room for 3 adults with extremely comfortable beds. I was a bit worried about not seeing hosts but everything’ was explained in an email regarding parking and entering the house and room. The suite was immaculate and there were extra towels and items in the dresser in the hall. We would definitely stay here again

This was such a wonderful place. It was quaint and inviting. I would definitely recommend staying here. Everything is walking distance from The Howland House, and very convenient.
