About this house rental
This historic home is in the center of Newport. Restaurants and stores are right across the street. First Beach is less than a mile walk in one direction while the Newport Wharves, with more restaurants, shops and night life are ½ of a mile in the other direction. You will be in the center of all that Newport has to offer while enjoying all of the amenities of a comfortable, well-stocked home that is professionally cleaned between guests.
Your home is adjacent to the home of your host, who is happy to help if there is anything you need. Yet you will have complete privacy, and the home to yourself.
Be aware that you are in the middle of a city that is bustling in the summertime. Normally, this location is fairly quiet, but there can be times when there is noise coming from the street. This historic home is on three levels and the stairways are narrow and steep, so this cannot be considered an accessible home. Additionally, the stairs onto the third-floor lead into the main third floor bedroom, and from there you will access the other two bedrooms on the third floor, meaning that those using the other two bedrooms will need to walk through the main third floor bedroom to get to their bedrooms. The third-floor bathroom is equally accessible to all three bedrooms on the third floor. Please make sure this is appropriate for you and your guests.
From May 1st to October 1st, we will provide two guest passes so that you can park your car(s) on the street in Newport. Often this means parking across the street from the house, but in the busier seasons you may need to look around for a spot. There is also nearby public parking available. From Oct 2nd to April 30th, guest passes are not required and anyone can park on the residential streets in Newport without a pass. It is vital that you return the guest pass to us and we will charge $125 if it is not returned.
Please note that there are residents living in the area and it is important that you are able to keep the noise to a minimum and otherwise respect the neighbors. Parties are not allowed that are larger than ten people. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited. If these rules are broken, you will be immediately evicted and charged a minimum fee of $250.
We are happy to have your pets as long as they are well behaved, do not mark the home in any way and are not on the furniture. There is an additional fee if you bring your pet. Please be sure to register your pet and pay the fee when booking. True service animals are welcome free of charge.
This is truly the most conveniently located spot in Newport. We are looking forward to hosting you!

Very nice house with plenty of beds and areas to sit for multiple guest's. I’ve been coming to Newport for a long time and this was on of best stay. Parking passes are very helpful because the neighborhoods are narrow and not a lot of spots. Church St lot is a 10 minute walk and can part over night if needed and short walk to everything.

The house couldn’t be more perfectly located. It was the perfect place for a girls weekend in Newport

Perfect location! We were able to walk everywhere that awe wanted to go. Nice and big home. Only complaint is the amount of ants found in the kitchen.

We stayed here for 3 nights for my BIL’s wedding with our 3year old, SIL + BF, and my 70yr old in laws. Outside of a toilet backup (addressed relatively quickly by hosts), we had a great stay. The central location can’t be beat. Would definitely recommend to anyone who’s comfortable staying in an old historic home that is quirky but well kept.

My family and I stayed at this VRBO for my cousins wedding. The location was great and parking was available on the street for our two cars. The rental was clean. The owner does live on the property.

The location was better than I thought it would be from looking at a map, so it allowed us to walk to almost everything. And the place was very clean and comfortable to live in for the time we were there.

There couldn’t be a better location! Or a cuter house for someone wanting to soak in the historic charm of Newport.
Property manager was great.

We were in town for a local lacrosse event, and the convenience of the homes location was perfect. We were minutes away from everything by foot, less than 2 miles away from the facility where we were coaching.
The space easily accommodated five adults, and we will surely be looking to book this again in the future.

Cute nicely decorated spacious in town location. Steps to tennis hall of fame, mansions, and wharf.

We has a wonderful stay at the house. Very nice and helpful owners. Did not have a chance to meet them, but were always attentive to our needs. Thankyou very much for renting your house. We loved it.

Ideal location for touring Newport. Home was a little quirky with its uneven floors and unique bedroom arrangements on the 3rd floor, although it was as-advertised and is a charming. Home was a historic 1810 build -- before many of the Newport mansions were built!
Had six adults using the "facilities," which caused slow-draining showers and some concern over some unexpected discharge into the yard. Owner provided a "snake" since they were temporarily unavailable -- which we did not have to use, fortunately! Parking was a little bit of a challenge since it was first come, first serve street parking.

What a truly perfect setting to host a girls’ Bachelorette weekend… full of laughter and fun! The decor and space were so awesome! We just loved the charm of such a historic home. Everything was within walking distance… sites, shops, restaurants, and dancing! The memories will last a lifetime! Thank you to the VRBO hosts for having such a perfect spot to enjoy Newport!

Needed a simple getaway from Boston and chose this charming rental in the heart of Newport. The rental had everything we needed, good wifi to work remotely, and close to pretty much every thing we could ask for. Parking was easy on the street, we could walk the dog to a park 5 houses away, the beach and cliff walks were maybe a 10 min walk at most, and coffee and great food in every direction. Every bit of the home was perfectly cleaned and fresh when we arrived.
The only complaint is that memorial drive can be a bit busy with traffic noise, but very bearable.
Will likely use this getaway again!!
Thanks for a great stay!!!

The property was charming and very well located. We were comfortable and cozy. The property owner was easy to communicate with and the property itself was very clean and met our needs for a fun mother/daughter getaway.

The town of Newport is adorable. The location of the property is great, although it is on a busy loud corner. The home is located with easy accessibility to the cliff walk and down to the restaurants, shopping and water. The home is old and completely run down. Upon entering the home, there is an area rug that is filthy and stained. The home is charming since it was built in the 1800's but hasn't been mantained well. The home slants quite a bit which wasn't a problem at all, it actually added to the charm. The upstairs bathroom has mold growing on the ceiling near the shower and the bathtub hadn't been cleaned properly as there were clumps of hair in the drain. In the master bath there were no proper bath towels, rather beach like towels. The third floor has some odd addition so one of the hallways is probably five feet tall as you are trying to make your way to one of the bedrooms. The kitchen felt poorly equipped and we found it challenging to cook a meal there. They did have a washer and dryer which was great! I would not recommend or come back to this home.

We had a wonderful time. The house was in a perfect location, close to anything you may need. Being built in 1810, it has its quirks but also alot of charm.

Great location and extremely comfortable for a family or group of friends!

Overall, the stay was great! There were some things that went wrong, out of control of the owner (the key pad not working), but the were quick to remedy a solution. The house is perfect for a group of 4-5 if everyone wants their own space. Having the owner right next door was perfect. The town is great for a lowkey bachelorette weekend.

The location of this house could not be more perfect. It is within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, mansions, the cliff walk and most anything else you would want to do in Newport. Our family of 6 adults fit comfortably here with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials, bedding was comfortable and we loved spending time together in front of the cozy fireplace in the living room. We visit Newport often and will definitely be staying here again. It is quintessential Newport.

Perfect location for friends and family. Walking distance to restaurants, downtown, and even walked to see the holiday decorations at the mansions. Loved how the house was decorated and had everything we needed for a short stay.

We wanted to spend time together with private time as well. That works for two couples well, and the sound-proofing was good between 2nd and 3rd floors. The last two of the four bedrooms were accessible through the 2nd bedroom only. Not a problem for a bunch of kids. Maybe a problem for non-family adults.
Great location. Okay price when we stayed.
No booklet explaining the place. Fireplace was not operational because remote was missing.

It is a cozy yet comfortable house within walking distance to everywhere, and most importantly pet friendly! The property manager was very responsive to our needs during our stay. I already live in a historic home, but for those who don't have experience with those, just be prepared for some layout/design quirks (they call it "character" in the historic home world). Would recommend for anyone looking for a nice weekend getaway.

The property was great, just as advertised. Very comfortable and a great location. Walking to several restaurants, shopping and tennis hall of fame.
Check in was a nightmare due to the VRBO app, no fault of the host. The app redirected me to a different property which naturally did not have our reservation causing us to stay in a hotel the first night. We were able to straighten it out the 2nd day with no help from VRBO and am still waiting to talk with a supervisor. The property was terrific, VRBO-not so much!

Had a fantastic stay! This home is in an incredible location. Easy walk to restaurants, shopping, and groceries. We were there for the Newport Marathon and this location was absolutely perfect.

OMG what an awesome home!
The location is perfect. Beautiful neighborhood of historic homes. Very short walk to all kinds of restaurants, shops, stores, wharf’s & more!
The home is very well stocked with extras like Starbucks coffee & accoutrements. Very nice & appreciated touch. Hosts are so nice & welcoming. Answered all our questions very quickly & checked on us to make sure all was good.
This home is beautiful, charming & VERY VERY comfortable. We could have easily stayed for a month or more.
The layout is a bit different as most older historic homes are.
Their description of the layout is spot-on although we did not find the 3rd floor stairs challenging at all. Yes narrow & a little steep as most older homes Iike this are but not a problem at all to maneuver & we’re in our early 60’s.
We had no problem with parking & the hosts provided 2 parking passes!
It is quirky in that you have to go through the 3rd floor queen/twin bedroom to access the other two 3rd floor bedrooms & the 3rd floor bathroom so might not work for everyone but it was perfect for us. We were 2 couples and an infant. So we didn’t need to use the other 3rd floor bedrooms. It would work for anyone that didn’t mind or need the privacy of going through that one bedroom.
I don’t think I’d want to stay anywhere else & can’t wait to go back.
