The breakfasts that Carlo prepared for us during our stay at Akakura Akarien were *incredible* - the kind of food that had us energized and ready to hit the slopes, and were equally delicious. We were so impressed with the quality and thoughtfully prepared food, as well as the bar downstairs. It was a comfortable place to gather with other guests and relax in the evenings. We asked Carlo for recommendations on where to go with an epic 3 feet of fresh snow, and he not only offered us great suggestions, but also offered to take us up and show us the best pow stashes. He went above and beyond as our host at the lodge.
The lodge was also located in the heart of Akakura, just a few minutes walk from the first lift at Akakura Onsen. From there, we were able to get over to Akakura Kanko easily. The lodge is also close to the bus pick-up in town for a handful of other resorts, which was really convenient because we didn’t have a car.
We wish our stay had been longer - we’ll be extending our stay here next year!

Super nice breakfast fresh made by the host everyday. Hosts are good boarders and they are fun to hangout with on and off mountain.
The room is a bit small, and there is no room maintenance.
