Enjoyed a lovely weekend at the Doric hotel.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself was very clean and nicely decorated. The food was very nice. The drinks were very reasonably priced. We were very happy with our annex room.

Reception area on arrival is lovely and modern. But looks can be deceiving. Venture up the stairs and you step through a time warp into what can only be described as something akin to Fawlty Towers. The stairs and landing are out of the ark with dated carpets and yellowing anaglypta. The family room that greeted us was no better. Threadbare carpet in places, mattresses that clearly had not been changed in many a year. Lovely antique ceiling tiles and with an appealing brown frame!!! An avenging wooden window overlooked the incredibly noisy extract fan from the kitchens!! Next morning I asked to change rooms and the very friendly receptionist obliged and put us in a more modern room, which was a little more comfy due to the updated decor and fittings, however the same ceiling tiles were still a feature. The bathroom was still dated and still overlooking the extract fan, however the double glazing of this window helped to dull the drone, and the beds, whilst a little better, were still quite worn.
Breakfast was mediocre at best, and if, like us, you were not dining at night you are treated as second class citizens in the table provision, as you were reserved your breakfast table at dinner the previous evening.
Generally the hotel staff, give or take a few, were friendly and helpful. Hotel is right opposite the tram stop, so that was useful.
Needless to stay we won’t be back.

Nice enough hotel, good sized family rooms, and included breakfast and dinner. Bathroom in our room was very dated and smells badly of cigarettes and noise from the hotel directly beneath our room until after 10pm each night, but nice and quiet after that so we slept well. Staff were all friendly but the service at dinner was painfully slow and disjointed, especially if you had kids because they had a separate menu, it took nearly 2 hours to get all our courses. Parking outside the hotel was difficult to find a space but there was parking avaliable for free on local streets. Also a good location for the north end of the illuminations which we thought was the better part.

Not the best. Bad creaky floorboards. On the 4th floor that’s all I could hear day and night. Tiny lift only fits 2 people in so if you have mobility issues and don’t want to wait about move rooms

Room looked nothing like the pictures on the hotel website. We were placed in a family room that was old dull and by it's sell by date. Toilet didn't flush took 3 days to be fixed. extremely noisy at night due to a generator noise outside the room window which was on constantly until the early hours of the morning. Family room not suitable when you have kids with this going on. Entertainment very loud while in room

Was disappointed to have to pay per night holding deposit in case we damaged the room - this was not told at time of booking with Hotels .Com - reception staff were not interested that we were OAP’s
Will not be going again and would not recommend

We had a great few days. We paid for the all inc and didn't regret it. The free tram pass was a surprise and well used.
Breakfast was good made better by Louise and the team .I did expect pastries etc at Breakfast as I don't particularly like meat so was disappointed and the all-inclusive didn't start till 3pm which considering the cost for the package was a little pathetic, hence the title

Overall the hotel below average for the price paid, the room was very small and the decor was dated, there was only one lift working and the other one could only take two people, if you had luggage only one person could fit in,

Great hotel with entertainment. Loads of choice from Room Only up to All Inclusive.

The indoor pool area needs a bit of work

We stayed in the part of the hotel that was not renovated and the lift was broke so had to carry the pram and suitcases up and down the stairs (the corridors were too narrow to get to the other lift with the pram) we couldn’t use the pool with the baby as this was being painted and no ventilation in there. Staff were helpful however had to wait a long time in the restaurant with meals due to staff sickness which again was really hard with a baby. Would visit again and feel it would have been a much more comfortable stay if it wasn’t for above issues.

The room had a musty smell we got moved witch seemed ok,but when we went to bed the mattress was very uncomfortable the springs were sticking in your back we complained the next day they said they would put something over the mattress but it was just the same, me and my husband didn’t have much sleep in the 3 nights we were there, the room was very hot the food was excellent and the staff in the dining room were excellent and the entertainment was very good

We enjoyed a 1 night stay here as a family of 4. Room was good enough, a little small but still comfortable. We all had a good sleep. The hotel was clean & well kept. Would return again

Excellent value for money
Only negative is parking although there is parking opposite in a pay & display car park at the back of the sports bar
Might be an idea for them to let guest know this especially as the machine isn't working and you have to go into the club and give them your registration number £7 for 24 hours which isn't a bad price

Fantastic hotel. Stayed in room 3 and it was lovely and modern. Staff made the stay being so lovely. Entertainment very high standard for a hotel and meals where lovely. Thank you team Doric!

We’ve just had a 3 night stay at Doric, we were pleasantly surprised having read a few poor reviews. The stand out for us being the restaurant staff, very helpful and friendly. The food was nice, especially the lasagne and there was a decent choice of vegetarian options for my daughter.
The room was clean and functional, the main bed was comfortable but the mattresses on the bunk beds were not, my daughters could feel the springs ‘digging’ into them, there also didn't seem to be enough plug sockets, but there were 4 of us all with phones to charge etc.
The general areas at the entrance, bar area, reception and dining area are all pleasantly decorated, however, the stairs and corridors on the first and second floors could do with a refresh, a bit thread bare in places, and we were not at all impressed with the indoor pool, it’s in the basement and is small, and seemed grubby so we didn’t use it at all. The outdoor pool however was very pleasant and it was a shame that the weather wasn’t very good so we couldn’t use it.
Overall, if you’re looking for a good value place to stay in Blackpool, which is clean, functional with friendly staff, I would recommend the Doric.

First time at stopping at the Doric absolutely fabulous hotel. The staff were amazing a massive thankyou to the Kitchen staff , my son is a very fussy eater every breakfast/ evening meal they prepared a meal separately for my son. The pool facilities and accommodation absolutely brilliant thankyou for a great stay we most defiantly will be returning

Very friendly atmosphere and staff room was perfect for the weekend

Decent property but two points to note, we stayed 3 nights Tuesday to Thursday, on the last night a gang of new guests arrived, lots of noise, kids running around room corridors around 1am, rooms around TV blasting until 1am could hear everything.
Hotel takes £50 per night damage deposit. For 3nights £150. A bit over the top. Given the current economic situation, school holidays, 4 days after my stay I am still awaiting the refund at the time of writing!

Me and my daughter stayed for 1 night perfect little break felt like we were abroad with the outdoor pool
2.0
Horrible beds/mattresses. The whole bed moved if person next to you moves. Same for the bunk bed too. Couldn't sleep the whole night.
Shower was not working properly.
Toilet flush was extremely slow too.
The floor creacked and was extremely noisy.
The only good thing was - they offered us food from al carte menu as dinner buffet was closed when we arrived.
4.0
Stayed for 1 night. All staff were lovely & welcoming.
What is not mentioned is you have to leave your car keys with them if using their parking. It was full on arrival, a local pay & display was out of order, but managed free on street parking nearby.
Unfortunately there was a false fire alarm that panicked my daughter in the night, and our room was right next to a hallway door & noisy floorboards which woke us up a few times.
I did not realise the location of the outdoor pool so we didnt use it which was a shame. Indoor pool is only 3ft deep
We had a good stay but hoped for a bit more

Room 99 was adequate with bath/shower tea coffee biscuits, large TV half sea view corner room, double bed,
Breakfast help yourself to cereals fruit, with waiter cooked breakfast Inc toast tea/coffee.
Evening meal waiter with 4 coarse menu, no free drinks except water.
2 heated swimming pools outdoor and indoor, kids entertainment room and adults entertainment rooms all good,
Seating around hotel comfy,
Only bug bear is lift out of order for right hand side of hotel, so lots of stairs to go up and down, or very long walk across left of hotel to other lift and back to right of hotel.
Reception staff good and online check in also, WiFi adequate as well.

Whilst we enjoyed our stay we thought the rooms where very small for the money.

Overall a pleasant stay as a family of 3.
Triple room was a reasonable size. Room was fairly clean but not spotless.
Room was very warm particularly on day of arrival.
Food was okay but not great quality, a reasonable variety and overall good value for money (half board).
Outdoor pool was heated and well kept. Indoor pool had a strong chemical odour.
Evening entertainment was good especially for younger children.
Staff were generally very helpful.
Used free on street parking nearby.

Great location. Tram stop right outside the hotel. Literally took 5mins on tram, or 30 mins walk to the Tower/ North pier. Room was clean. Breakfast and evening meal was lovely. Staff were helpful and polite. An added bonus was the indoor/ outdoor pools. My 8yr old loved them. Great evening entertainment too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great check in. Had to park and pay at nearby car park. Room great, clean and well equipped. Bit noisy as over kitchen/swimming pool ventilation. Would use and stay again
2.5
Hotel is abit old school, but comfortable. Staff are a credit to the hotel and nothing is too much effort. Tram right outside makes it easy to travel around, especially as parking is a nightmare. Parked my car around the corner as there is no parking for the actual hotel. Overall a really enjoyable stay
1.5
It was ok. The onsite parking isn't a car park but a narrow area to the side where they Tetris in people's cars, so I parked on the street. The rooms are dated, hot, a little uncomfortable and a bit loud. But it did the job
3.0
They expect a £50per night refundable deposit per night dor any damages which is refundable.
The rooms were very stuffy and when you open the windows we was at the back near the pipes and it was so loud. Luckily they provided a fan.
Toilet had a very bad flush like there wasnt any water pressure
Parking is terrible have to battle to be able to park the car otherwise the local carpark is £7 for 24 hours

Great hotel. Food was great too. Great price. We stayed in family room and the pools kept the kids entertained.

Excellent value, friendly service, good food and entertainment.
Small free car park, pay and display across road.
Kids entertainment (a little late at 8pm) but overall we enjoyed it

All in all, I was very happy with our stay.
