About this cottage rental

This is a charming historic 1860's cottage in the heart of Missouri Wine Country. Nestled in the green foliage & trees, right on the creek. Wildlife and nature abound. It’s one of a kind.

The Ivy Cottage is a magical & eclectic private getaway for partners, two friends, or extended stay for remote work, writing, reading. Take a mental health break away from the hustle & bustle of your busy life. Our cottage is walking distance from downtown Hermann restaurants/bars/ live music. Hermann has a vast selection of biking/walking trails, wine, coffee, food, and vintage shops. This is our home away from home, we live here half of the year.

***Please keep in mind all three house rules prior to booking, as they are strictly enforced. 1.) This is a NON-SMOKING property. Absolutely no smoking or vaping on the property, in the cottage, or on the decks. A violation of this will be an additional $500 damage cleaning fee, and an immediate cancellation of your reservation. 2.) This is a two person property, per the permit through the city of Hermann. There is no more than two people allowed at the cottage and on this property at all times. If additional guests show up, you and your guest will be asked to leave. 3.) No pets. I am immunocompromised and this is my family home. Thank you in advance for respecting these three rules.

Highlights include:

• Double-decker deck placing you directly in nature. Newly added screened in porch on bottom deck.
• Fire pit for roasting marshmallows or enjoying a glass of wine under the stars.
• Full kitchen with everything you need to cook your favorite meals.
• Primary bedroom with a king-size bed and private bathroom.
• Loft area with a sofa and plenty of space to relax, read, or listen to music.
• Laundry facilities on-site w/ laundry soap provided.

For security purpose ONLY, there are 5 EXTERNAL Ring Flood Light Cameras on the property. Driveway, Lower Deck, Upper Deck, Rear Entry and Side of the Home. Rear Entry and Upper Deck cameras can be turned on and off for privacy. Directions are provided in the House Binder located in the Kitchen.

The cottage is very homey and comfortable. Anything you could need is ready and available. The property owners were accommodating and easy to communicate with. Great location. Off the beaten path yet still quite a bit within walking distance. We would love to stay again on our next trip to Herman.

My husband & I rented this for the weekend as a bday present for his sister, and we’re so happy we did! This fairytale cottage is beautiful. You can tell the owners love this place by all the small details and finishes throughout. It is furnished with anything you may need for an overnight stay, plus it’s a short walk to all the shops in Hermann. Can’t say enough about this place. Absolutely breathtaking! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My wife and I rented the cottage for a fall weekend and we had a wonderful time. The cottage is great and secluded while being close to Hermann's amenities. Hermann is a neat town with lots of history and a variety of things to do. The property manager was excellent to deal with and very thoughtful during our stay. We plan to come back in the future. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at the Ivy Cottage twice this year. After the first visit I found it difficult to express just how charming the cottage really is. Now it's even more difficult because the cottage is even more spectacular. The hosts have an incredible eye for detail. Everywhere you look there's a treasure to be discovered. From the art on the walls to the games and even art supplies there is something new around every corner. I fell in love with the covered patio on the first visit and arrived this time to find it fully screened in. It was an absolute joy to start the evening on the patio and finish the day around the fire pit. We enjoy visiting Hermann but, honestly, we come for the Ivy Cottage. We can't wait to come back again.

We absolutely loved our weekend away at Ivy Cottage. It was quiet, private, well appointed and the owners were fantastic. It was only a couple of blocks from the main streets in hermann so we were able to wAlk to all the action but also enjoy the peace and quiet of the home. They had a list of great food and drink options which were also on point!!! Thank you for an amazing stay amd we loom forward to visiting again in the future!

This cottage in Hermann was just what we were looking for. The property was clean, well stocked and accurately represented. We had a relaxing time and the property owners were easy to work with. There was a lot going on in Hermann the weekend we stayed and we enjoyed the festivities. The cottage is quiet and the decks are great for evenings and morning alike. We will definately rebook when we visit Hermann again.

This cottage is absolutely charming. The photos and description truly do not do it justice. Everywhere we looked there was obvious attention to detail from the art on the walls to the well-stocked kitchen. You can see in the photo the is a patio beneath the deck. What you can't see is the steel sheet under the patio that keeps the deck dry and comfortable, even in heavy rain. It was heavenly relaxing in the evening while listening to the rain and wildlife all around us. This is just an example of the careful thought that has gone into the details of this cottage. The cottage truly is a short walk to downtown Hermann. We were able to walk to town every time the urge struck and never felt we needed to take the car whenever we felt like exploring. The comfort, sense of privacy, and convenience balanced into a fantastic experience. It was a pleasure working with our hosts. Alexandria was delight. I'm not exaggerating when I say we were planning our next visit before we had even unpacked our bag.
