The most classic of Vermont experiences awaits at this beautiful, light-filled home, scenically situated with views of the Ottauquechee River and the surrounding treetops. Skier, golfer, or fall leaf-peeper, this is the perfect home base in small-town Central Vermont.
Originally built in 1850 as worker housing for the mill that became Simon Pearce, this two-story home is in the heart of Quechee, just a few houses up the road from the picturesque Quechee Covered Bridge. Right in the village, you can stroll to a number of restaurants, shops, and the famous Quechee Hot Air Balloon Festival that fills the skies each June. You'll also find Quechee State Park (just over a mile) and the village of Woodstock (seven miles) close by. Two miles away is the Quechee Club; purchase a pass and access two championship golf courses, a driving range, indoor and outdoor pools, a state-of-the-art fitness center, eight Hard-Tru tennis courts, pickleball, paddle tennis, a lake with boats, a dock for fishing, a beach, an alpine ski hill, and a trail system for hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, and backcountry skiing. You'll also be 12 miles away from Dartmouth College.
After a day spent hiking or tasting the local maple syrup, come home to unwind in rocking chairs on the porch. Set the table out back for dinner at golden hour and gather around the firepit for s'mores and stories once the sun goes down. (Firewood is provided.)
The interior is a seamless blend of the timeless and modern, where wide-plank wood floors meet lofty, two-story ceilings. Enjoy a cozy living room with a smart TV, a kitchen with every essential, and a formal dining room for family meals and nightly board games. There's even a special play loft for the kids, offering an array of toys, books, and games.

We enjoyed our stay here! Check-in and unlocking was smooth. The house was very clean and well supplied with everything we needed. The beds and pillows were so comfortable! Kitchen was well supplied, and we appreciated some of the little things that were provided, like paper towels, dishwashing liquid, salt and pepper, and plastic bags. We had one cool evening when we had a fire in the fire pit, and it was great to have firewood at hand, including kindling, and matches in the kitchen.
The only thing lacking, and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, was communication or description that told us there is no bathroom upstairs with the bedrooms. For most people that would not be a problem. For us, that may have changed our decision to stay there, because one of our party had a hard time with climbing stairs multiple times per night.

Bags of trash on the property. Frequent promises to pick it up but no one ever did. Unhealthy attraction for rodents.
Broken overhead kitchen light
Very hot weather with no AC on first floor and old ineffective window units in second floor bedroom and hall.
Other bedroom had only a fan. Made stay sufficiently uncomfortable that we considered leaving one night early. Weather improved slightly so we did not leave early.
No place to put our trash as outside barrels were overflowing. Had to put some trash in dumpster at Dunkin Donuts. Left remaining trash bagged in house for cleaners to remove.
Very poor performance by management company. When responding to kitchen light issue, requested us to check breakers in musty basement. Also suggest we check bulb - which could only be checked by use of a step ladder. Daily promises to remove trash were issued and never fulfilled.

We have stayed in Quechee many times now and enjoyed how close this house is to the mountain as well as close to the market and coffee shop! We are a family of 5 and had plenty of space for all of us.

The place was and older but updated. It worked out great: clean and with everything we needed.
Thanks
