The house is beautiful, cozy and welcoming. The views are magnificent and the location is perfect. It’s a 3 min drive to the village - this house ticks all the boxes! The host was very communicative and so nice. We will be coming back for sure!

The location is wonderful. We stayed in the summer and were only a short walk or bike ride to Donovan Park (great for families) or the Gore Valley Trail. Close walk to Grand Hyatt where we rented bikes. Grocery store is close by as well. We enjoyed the beautiful views and spacious yard, where the kids could play. We had 2 families and there was plenty of room for everyone. Larry was very easy to get ahold of and very responsive. Would definitely recommend as a great place for a family vacation in the valley.

We all had a wonderful time in this fabulous house! We were there for our daughter’s wedding. Would definitely stay here again! Owners were very helpful too!

We looked at many properties in Vail, but we kept coming back to this property. I contacted the owner and after talking to him, I realized this was definitely the place we wanted to stay. We were in Vail for my son's wedding, and this property had everything we needed. Plenty of bedrooms, and bathrooms! We used all four bedrooms , and never felt like we were crowded for space. The view was great from almost every room in the house. Everything in the house worked, and there was even a pack and play for our granddaughter.
The proximity of the house to everything was good. Grocery store 10 minutes one way, and Vail Village 5 minutes the other.
Reserving the property went smoothly, and about ten days before, we received the checkin instructions and also a list of things to do in Vail. Communication was never an issue with the owners before and during our stay.
Overall, we were very pleased with this rental. The only negative about our stay was that when we were leaving, we wished we could have stayed a few more days to just relax at the house after all the wedding festivities! Would stay here again.

My kids, kids in law, and grandkids stayed in this home and we had a wonderful stay for a week in winter after Christmas. The listing accurately depicted the home and the owner was very prompt and helpful. The 12 of us (7 adults and 5 children) were very comfortable. The kitchen was outfitted with everything we needed as we ate most meals at the home since we had small children. The home is very comfortable and well furnished.
As advertised the Cascade lift is only an 8-10 min walk and the free Vail bus service located there as well. The location is great for experienced skiers renting at Ventures sports located in the Grand Hyatt. It is a little hike if you own your own skis/board and carry them down and up each day, as we were unable to use the valet for our own equipment since we were not guests at the hotel. (On one occasion an overly aggressive employee told us that were were not even supposed to rent since we were not staying at the hotel.)
I would highly recommend this home for winter get a ways.

Larry's home is beautiful and ideally situated just outside of Lionshead Village walking distance from Hotel Talisa. The home is very large and well appointed. The pictures do not do it justice. The master bedroom is large and comfortable, with a four post bed and large walk-in closet. The master bathroom is very luxurious with a double vanity and walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub. The other three bedrooms are very nice as well and the bathrooms are luxurious with double vanities. The home is perfect for large groups of friends or families. There are also pull-out sofas in the living room and family room downstairs. The kitchen is well appointed as well and perfect for cooking for groups and families. There is also a new, big, curved LED TV in the living room with plenty of seating. There is room for one car in the garage and probably 2-3 outside. All in all, the house was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Larry is a gracious and attentive host. Highly recommended.

We just returned from a great week at Larry's home which is amazing and attributed to our "Best ski vacation ever". Thank you Larry for your gracious hospitality. The pictures do not do it justice. The view from the house looking West is incredible and the house is extremely spacious, well decorated and very comfortable. We would start our day sipping coffee admiring the unobstructed view of the mountains and then gear up for for a day on the Hill. The house has everything you would need to enjoy your stay, We had 4 adults and 5 kids (11-17) and everyone was happy and had plenty of space. The flow of the entire house upstairs and downs stairs was perfect. The kids utilized the downstairs media room while the adults enjoyed the evenings sitting by the wood burning fire eating cheese and drinking wine. The Kitchen is well equipped (appliances) and has all that you would need to prepare your meals. There are many TV's throughout the house and the new large TV in the Living room made watching the Football game feel like you were on the field. The location of the house is also a huge plus. It is a quick 10 min walk to the Hotel Talisa and the Cascade (Chair #20). While Lions Head and Vail Village were crowded at the start of the ski day we simply walked on to the Cascade chair. (could not have been any easier) We also rented our Skis from Venture Sports (located in the Hotel Talisa) and they were terrific. You drop off your equipment in the evenings and pick up "warm" boots to start your day. It was so easy and the Hotel also had great amenities for both kids and adults. (Apres ski/Hot Chocolate everyday 4-6).
Depending on the day we also skied right back to the Venture Sports/Hotel Talisa to drop of our skis, a quick walk back to the house or call to be picked up, so convenient.
Larry is a gracious host and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our kids are already asking to come back.

This was a return visit to this home. It is perfect for our family of 8 plus an infant. Private bed and bath for 4 couples, 2 huge common spaces and a very well equipped kitchen (plates and drinkware for 20). I hope this home is available should our travels bring us back to Vail.

Our visit was outstanding. The communication was great and the arrival process and checkout were super easy. The location is fantastic, a short walk from a lift or drive to the main gondola area. The house itself was superb. Can't say enough about it really. The view, the setting, everything! This is the best place hands down - look no further.

What a wonderful house! We visited with my husband, parents, and niece and nephew. Everyone had a room and a bathroom. Bedrooms are comfortable, cozy, with great decor complete with at-home amenities. Bathrooms are beautiful with high end finishes. Kitchen is complete with everything you need to make a variety of dishes during your stay. Grocery store is a 5 minute drive away. The view is just spectacular and the location hard to beat - walk to bus transit and chair lift close by. Thank you so much Larry! We will be coming back!

This was my first experience with VRBO homes and the house exceeded my expectations. The house itself is beautiful, with plenty of space for both togetherness and alone, quiet time. Considering its convenient location in Cascade Village it is nonetheless quite private with a beautiful view out the wall of windows at the back. The kitchen has everything for easy meals.
Ample parking for three cars, and the shuttle to Lionshead and Vail village easy to access.
Larry and Julie were very responsive to my email inquiries.
From the moment we stepped through the door we could not have been more pleased with this home and in fact are talking about another, longer stay in Vail in this home next year.

Our group was four couples. This wonderful, well appointed, nicely decorated, well stocked home had plenty of room for everyone. I have been to Vail numerous times and had never stayed in the Cascade area. This is Vail's hidden secret. Never a line at the ticket window or lift. Very convenient to Lionshead or Vail Village. We ate in several nights and plenty of space in the kitchen for all the cooks, and afterwards in the den for everyone to watch a movie. We also really enjoyed the hot tub. There are also large towels for hot tub use - nice touch. We have rented numerous VRBO properties and the beds at the Blivas house were all very comfortable. The house has a hot water system such that you never run out of hot water. 8 people took showers around the same time frame every day, after the ski day ended, with no issue as to enough hot water. When you rent a house, you often find you need to buy assorted seasonings and sauces if you want to cook meals in. The Blivas house was already well stocked with all the little niceties (spices, seasonings, olive oil, etc.) you always seem to forget. The bathroom floor in our downstairs bedroom was heated - really comfortable and a nice feature. Very good directions in the house on the TV remotes, wifi, all the little things have been covered. We drove to the Cascade parking deck every day, about a 90 second drive. Of the 8 days we were there, we were only charged to park one day (Saturday). The Charter Sports at the base, recommended by the Blivas's, was excellent. They will store your boots and skis, and even have a boot drying system. I have my own equipment and they were nice enough to store my gear as well. Other reviewers have commented about the 65" UHD TV in the den; at the end of the day when everyone is tired, this was a wonderful gathering spot. I could go on an on about how much we enjoyed this house. The best compliment I could give is this - of the 8 nights we stayed there, not one of the 4 women ever had a negative comment about the house. To anyone who's reading this review - if you rent this house, you won't be disappointed.

The Chateau is uniquely situated in Cascade Village with beautiful views of the Valley from the living room and hot tub. I had a group of friends in for Super Bowl weekend - the fantastic curved screen TV and comfortable living room worked great for the game.
The renovated lounge and restaurant at hotel Talisa was perfect for Apres - followed by time in the hot tub to relax after skiing.
Great trip - Great house - Great Lounge at Talisa!

This home is so incredibly well-equipped - everything you could possibly need. It's absolutely beautiful and sleeps 4 couples in wonderful comfort, spaciousness, and privacy. We had a blast - favorite night was "Cooking In" - wonderful kitchen, fireplace, big screen - what more could you ask for? Highly recommended - didn't want to leave and can't wait to come back!!

This house was great over Xmas break for our family of 9, although easily fits 12. It had everything we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms. Beautiful home in Cascade village with an amazing view of the mountains. Although it was high season, we did not feel it at all since we skied out of the cascade chair lift at the Grand Hyatt which is totally private and only used by hotel guests and nearby neighbors. The Grand Hyatt is a 6-7 minute walk down hill (up hill at the end of the day). We rented our equipment at the Grand Hyatt Venture Sports (the staff new Larry and were very nice to all of us). Renting at Venture sports allowed us to ski in and out of the Grand Hyatt and use their ski valet! We changed into our ski boots at the Grand Hyatt, got our skis from the ski valet and at the end of the day, we left our boots and ski with the ski valet, and walked home in our snow boots. The Cascade lift should only be used by people who can ski, as it is fast and takes you to a part of the mountain where you have to ski to another lift in order to keep going up. There are no beginner bunny slopes.
If you are a beginner and you plan on taking lessons, or have kids who have to go to ski school, you will have to either drive to Lionshead, take an Uber to Lionshead, Walk to Grand Hyatt and from there take the free shuttle to Lionshead, since the schools and instructors meet at Lionshead. We are all good skiers so for us Cascade Lift was amazing and not crowded. One guest had to take their kid to Lionshead everyday, which adds about 20-30mins to the morning routine. Our private instructor met us intermediate skiers at the Grand Hyatt Cascade Lift so this was perfect for us and recommended if you want an instructor and do not want to schlep to Lionshead in the morning.
Truly a nice home in a great location. Would definitely rent again. Thank you Larry!

We had a great time at Larry's house. The bedrooms were all very generous in size , were decorated beautifully and had very comfortable beds. The home is about a .5 mile drive to the the Cascade lift which is very easy to access and has a public parking lot ($25/day) about 200 yards from the Cascade chair lift.
Larry was very easy to work with and was responsive to any questions that I had. I would definitely stay here again

This was a great house with great communication with property manager and owner. They went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay and had everything we needed.
The inside of the house is well laid out. The downstairs area with three bedrooms is great for families with children.
One of the features we particularly liked were the operable skylights.
However, there are a couple of things that I wished I knew before booking. First, the description on VRBO says the house has A/C but it does not. I understand most mountain homes do not have A/C...however, we specifically picked this house bc it said AC on the description and were disappointed it did not.
Also, the outdoor area could use some work. There was a metal table and chairs with no cushions to sit upstairs. Downstairs had limited seating that was dirty and had debris and pool chemicals piled up. We were looking forward to sitting outside to enjoy the Colorado weather and it just wasn’t conducive to doing it. I don’t think it would take much to make the outside area great!
If the air conditioning description is removed from VRBO and the outside was to be improved it would definitely get 5 stars.

We stayed at this property before and are glad we came back. We had a few minor issues and the property owner was very responsive to our needs. The house is in a great location, it was very quiet, the kitchen was adequately stocked for cooking our meals at the Château, and we had plenty of room to move around and enjoy our time together. Thanks for sharing your home and providing us a good experience.

This property is fantastic. It’s beautiful, well-maintained, and has everything to make guests feel at home and on vacation. Our extended family with 5 kids were so comfortable in the space and really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much to Larry and Julie. We hope to return.

We had an amazing time and stayed at this property for our daughter’s wedding! I couldn’t have picked a more perfect or beautiful home to stay in! The view stunned us each day and this home is gorgeous!! I highly recommend staying here and will stay again in the future!
2.0 / 5.0
This property is conveniently located near Vail Village and does have lovely views and a nice hot tub. However, I would not recommend staying in the summer as it has no air conditioning and no shades on the wall of windows and it reached over 86 degrees inside the house each day and didn’t cool off until the middle of the night. It was so unbearable at times we considered leaving. The owner does not respond to calls and is very slow to reply to texts (or doesn’t reply at all) and the property manager isn’t responsive either (she said she was out of town and the office was very busy). The water was cut off to the house because of a leak in the irrigation system and it took a very long time to reach someone. There are mice in the kitchen that we alerted the property manager about and she never responded. The listing incorrectly indicates that you have pool access at the Hyatt but does not mention that you have to say you are staying at a neighboring property to access (which we chose not to do). Although the listing indicates check out time is noon, we were told we needed to be out by 10:00 am for the next guests to arrive (the listing also states there is a minimum one day vacancy between guests for cleaning).

Loved our return stay to Larry's Vail house. Wonderful morning and late afternoon views and proximity to the Cascade lift makes it (almost) ski in/ski out!

Great house for our entire family, eight adults and three kids. Easy access to the bike path and thus Vail village Backyard proved to be perfect for the kids.

The property was great. The only description that was omitted or not explained was that there is a different residence attached to the bigger one. The picture lead you to believe the entire property is included. Fortunately no one was staying there during our stay.

My family gathering in Vail, renting several homes - this one was our main meeting place and it was absolutely perfect! Gorgeous inside, gorgeous views, immaculate and had everything we needed. The yard is large and was perfect for our larger gatherings and for when the kids were with us (ages from 5 - 35!) outdoor games etc. Larry was easy to work with and we would definitely rent this space again! The only slight issue was that with the beautiful large windows the upstairs did get warm in the hot weather Vail had during our stay. It did cool down at night with the open windows and fans. Downstairs stayed perfect temperature! (Just FYI for those who are concerned.) We HIGHLY recommend this home and look forward to returning.

We stayed June 2021. This property was perfect for our family of 8. Everyone had a comfortable bed. Being able to open so many windows and, especially, the skylights, gave us a great summer breeze in the home. The views of the valley and mountains are wonderful. The owners have labeled everything you might need to use so that it’s easy to figure everything out. We used the hot tub every night. Finally, the location is fantastic. We enjoyed being in a quiet neighborhood (with MANY aspen trees) out of the crowds in Vail, yet only a 5 minute walk and 5 minute bus, 15 minute bike ride, or 35 minute walk to the village.
