About this cottage rental
This newly-renovated (summer 2022) country cottage was lovingly re-crafted with features such as vaulted ceilings and skylights, reclaimed distressed timbers, all new premium beds, appliances and a queen-size sleeper sofa. Beautiful lake views are afforded from the living room and an outdoor dining-ready, cable-railed deck. The kitchen features concrete countertops, maple cabinetry, an antique granite island, and the entire house has threshold-free bamboo flooring. The home is embellished throughout by original works of art by regional artists. Super-fast internet speeds power your devices and smart home tech throughout. All bedrooms feature 55” OLED smart televisions and convenient device power stations.
The entire home is available to guests with the exception of the following:
• a locked closet in bedroom 1 that is privately used to store the host's items.
• overhead storage in bedroom 1, bathroom, and study is not for guest use.
• the outside-accessible utility basement beneath the house.
• the outside shed is not for guest use and is restricted to children out of safety concerns.
The cottage on House Pond resides on 3 wooded acres with nearly 500ft of its own waterfront. This property has a secluded feeling but is only a short 3 minute drive to shopping, restaurants, activities, and more.
A 3-minute drive will take you to shopping, restaurants and bars, CVS, the Wallenpaupack Brewery, a great ice-cream stand, incredible hiking trails, and “The Big Lake” (Lake Wallenpaupack), where one of only two public boat launches is easily accessible to our guests.
House Pond, also known as Stonybrook Lake, is a private lake within a ten-home property owners association. It is well-known as one of the best fishing locations in the area, featuring rock bass, lake perch, crappies, bluegill, and many more fish species. It is home to two separate bald eagle nests, one of which is next to our property. Across the lake is home to a pair of blue herons and numerous land animals, such as deer and even occasionally black bear can be sighted. If you are lucky enough to sight a bear, don’t panic! They are quite afraid of humans and will usually move on if they hear a loud noise. But, please don’t leave your garbage unsecured as it may draw them, as well as other critters looking for a snack.
PARKING: The driveway parking area is large enough to permit a full turnaround for a trailored boat, jetskis, ATV, etc. It can accommodate up to 6 cars.
FIREPIT: We provide the wood and starter materials for the fire pit. No need to bring your own. We got you covered!
NATURE: Chances are good you will experience bald eagles in flight (or at least their calls from the adjacent nest) or encounter one or more of the many resident deer on our property. When it comes to nature, the Cottage on House Pond is truly magical.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: While we will accommodate if possible, we generally do not permit early check in and late check outs because we book our cleaners for a certain time and usually cannot change it due to their very busy schedules. If circumstances are such that you MUST check out later than the 11am check-out time, please notify us immediately through airBnB and we'll accommodate if we can.
CLEANING: Our cleaning fee helps to pay for the cleaning of the entire home. Washing of all our linens/comforters/pillow cases/pillow protectors/bath towels/hand towels is conducted at the conclusion of every stay.
WINTER SAFETY: The roads and weather are always unpredictable in the winter. We recommend at least all-wheel drive vehicles to our winter guests. If a snow storm does occur during your stay, we will have our snow plowing service clear the driveway and the hosts will clear steps and walkways. Please be patient as our plowing service is handling a wide range of clients all looking for service. We will be in contact prior to any meaningful snow storms just to check in about details and needs for our guests.
• The maximum guest occupancy is 6. Visitors beyond the 6 permitted guests must be cleared in advance with the host.
• Check-in by 3pm. Check-out by 11am. Early check-in and late check-out is by request and at the hosts' discretion.
• Please respect our neighbors by following our noise compliance rules: No loud noise after 11:00pm. This will be enforced.
• Pets, other than verified service animals, are forbidden as we have guests with allergies. Service animals must remain in the confines of the property and in the control of the owner at all times. Service animals are not allowed on beds or sofa.

• We do not permit professional photography and filming on-site for the purposes of commercial use or other commercial endeavor without the personal approval of the hosts.
• Garbage/refuse must be disposed of in the provided containers below the deck and the lids secured in order to impede animals. Guests are responsible for their trash anywhere in the yard and should dispose of it accordingly.
• Absolutely no grease or oils down kitchen/bathroom drains or toilets. We have a septic system. Please help us to maintain it.
• Please do not discard wipes, tampons, paper towels or tissues, even if they say they are flushable down toilets or drains. Discard these items in the trash.
• Use of the boat is permitted but life-vests are absolutely required. Vests for children and adults are provided in the mud room.
• Parking of boats and trailers IS permitted.
• FISHING on House Pond is permitted with a current PA fishing license. Licenses are mandatory in the state, regardless of the lake ownership. • No glitter or confetti inside the home, please! It's horrible to clean up!
• When checking out, no need to make the beds. You're on vacation!! Just leave the beds as is and it will get handled.
Route 590 from Hawley: Turn right onto Bone Ridge Road and travel 100 yards to the red mailbox onto a long gravel driveway. Please DO NOT take Terra Drive, as Google Maps may suggest. Our driveway entrance is a LONG gravel driveway with a RED mailbox and a green sign that says "Private Road - residents and guests only". Just go to the end and there you are! :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Quiet, peaceful, clean, secure and comfortable.

This cottage was absolutely delightful! We needed a vacation with peace and quiet and tranquility and we couldn’t have found a better place to stay! The pond is filled with wildlife, eagles, birds, chipmunks, frogs, geese, a family of ducks with 4 newborn ducklings that walked right past us, hummingbirds, and countless others! The cabin is clean and cozy, well supplied with all the comforts of home! The owners Scott and Joelle were readily available when we needed anything! The cabin is secluded and still only minutes away from grocery stores and restaurants, boat rentals or anything else you could need! We loved this cabin so much that we are returning next summer!

Our stay here was wonderful. The cabin is very nice! The remodel is excellent and well thought out. Everything feels fresh and new. The extra amenities offered by the host were appreciated( lots of towels, coffee and filters, sweet treats, use of row boat, etc.). The location is very convenient to the things to do in the surrounding area.(PA Rail Bike Tour, Claws and Paws, hiking trails, Lake Wallenpaupack, restaurants). The host texted a few times to see if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again.
