About this cabin rental
This character filled original weatherboard house, built in 1895, sits on huge grounds with uninterrupted views over the Kanimbla valley. The big sky will deliver magnificent sunsets and stargazing on the big old back verandah. Great kitchen, with open fireplaces in kitchen and lounge room. A large loungeroom with a projector and large selection of movies is available, or hook up your own laptop to stream any of your own programmes.
The bushwalking near the house in Centennial Glen is exceptional; waterfalls, canyons and renowned rock climbing - all only 10 mins walk from the house. Or jump in the car and head to Govetts Leap and the Grand Canyon. Great swimming at Minihaha Falls, 15 min drive towards Katoomba.
Blackheath is a cute little village only 5 mins walk from the house, with a pub, bottle shop, grocer, bakery, delicatessen, butcher, great cafes and huge antique store.
Please note: The 4th bedroom is quite rustic and very small, with a double bed and is only opened when you book for more than 6 guests, or upon request. Please let me know if you require this room to be opened.
Please note this is an old largely unrenovated house - the bathtub is a bit rusty, creaky doors and wobbly floorboards. It is however thoroughly clean and we provide crisp hotel sheets and towels.
Due to the houses amazing location on the ridge overlooking the Kanimbla valley, the house can occasionally be very windy.
There are 2 gas heaters which keep the house warm and cosy and wood for fires provided (during winter only)

Please note: The house is located across road from the railway line - hourly trains during the day and occasional freight train at night. We provide earplugs for light sleepers.

The cottage is quaint and original with plenty of space and suitable for 3 couples . It's probably best described as "shabby chic" as the decor and furnishings are interesting but the cottage is not renovated completely which is part of its charm and makes it good value. It has a lovely view from the back deck and is a five minute walk from all the shops and cafes in Blackheath. .
