About this house rental
1850 Watson House near the Catskill high peaks, with the beautiful sound of the nearby Bushkill Creek. Spacious, clean, peaceful. Fast reliable WIFI. Big stone fireplace. Two roomy bedrooms, screened porch, and a picket-fenced yard. AC, fire pit with adirondack chairs. A comfortable mix of art and wooden mid-century minimalism. The house is in a beautiful natural area while a short drive to town, restaurants, farm stands. Favorite summer spot – the sunroom with french doors open to the garden.
Watson House has a TV for streaming, living room, sunroom, a well-equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, full bathroom with tub, half bathroom, stone front porch, an herb and flower garden, picket-fenced yard with fire pit and adirondack chairs. Watson House is a mix of old and new. We restored the original wavy glass windows, exposed the ceiling beams and removed walls to create an open airy space. We have a paperback library if you’ve forgotten a book.
Watson House is in a row of houses, far from the madding crowds in Woodstock, while close to Boiceville Market for groceries, Migliorelli Farm stand, Bread Alone Bakery, The Pines, Phoenicia Diner, Country Inn, Woodstock Brewing and a liquor store (all about 10 minutes away). Lots more in Woodstock, 25 minutes. The Kanape hiking trail, swimming holes, the Ashokan Reservoir Promenade, Ashokan Rail Trail and fly-fishing on the Esopus Creek are within 5-10 minutes.
Watson House is one of three entirely separate buildings on our large property along Watson Hollow Rd. Each has its own entirely separate outdoor space, driveway and yard. Watson House is close to the house next door, and the buildings are visible from each other. All houses are for quiet use by small groups or couples. While the houses are close to each other, all of the spaces described above are for the exclusive use of Watson House guests. There is respect for privacy here. The creek area is shared between the houses.
15 minutes to Phoenicia and 25 minutes to High Falls and Stone Ridge. 35 minutes to Hunter and 30 to Belleayre skiing.
Guests have the house to themselves. Most closets and one of the three bedrooms is kept locked.
We host an absolute maximum of 4 guests. Please count everyone in that number, including infants.
We allow one dog with a $75 pet fee. No puppies, dogs under 2 years, cats, or other pets.
We happily welcome all responsible, happy, independent guests, and especially want to be sure that people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, races, ages and religions feel welcome.

Cute house with a lovely yard for our dog to run free. Close to lots of trails, falls, quaint towns and a large variety of places to eat!

Beautifully maintained and thoughtfully renovated home--loved spending morning in the sun room and dipping our toes in the stream across the street. Our 20 lbs dog had tons of room to run around in the yard, and we had a lovely evening or two around the fire pit. Would gladly stay again!

Really a stunning property—we loved the porches and the decorating. Great kitchen, and nearby to tons of things to do, with a great fenced yard for our dog.
