Lovely cosy little rooms with fabulous view. Well appointed, with a small fridge, massive shower, and instant oats and pastries left for you in case you wanted a snack in the morning.
I would recommend arriving in the daylight if possible; partly for the view but also because the car park and approach to the rooms are poorly lit.
Good value for money.

A very pleasant stay, self check in was smooth with lots of information provided and the instant porridge breakfast was a nice touch. An easy walk down to Sowerby Bridge for good pubs and restaurants, but recommended a taxi back, particularly at night.

The Hobbit Rooms are in a lovely quiet location high in the hills above Sowerby Bridge with lovely views. The rooms themselves are comfortable, clean and cozy with a really super fab shower. We’ve stayed there twice now and have booked again for Christmas. The Hobbit used to be a pub and restaurant too that has sadly closed but there are plenty of other options in Sowerby Bridge and surrounding areas.

Looking at the photos on the website I was expecting a hotel with a bar and restaurant so was disappointed when I realised it was just rooms. I should have read the reviews but selected it because friends were staying there. The drive from Sowerby Bridge was harrowing up the hill and as someone already commented, not for the faint hearted. Didn't want to go back down to find something to eat. However there is a better approach from Ripponden which I found out later. That said, the room was fresh, very clean, warm and comfortable. You could smell the cleanliness which is always good in my book. Very organised check in and out. Oh and the porridge and pastries were a nice surprise. Would I use again? All things considered maybe.

They text me the code for the safe key, internet details and kept in touch. Easy access, lovely room, little unexpected extras in the room. Self service access was easy. Will book again.

The New Hobbit Hotel offers the good location in Peak District if you want to get a good view of village from the top of the mountain. I personally think it offers a good view. The hotel is still under renovation for its restaurant as we were told when we booked, but Karen (the hotel rep) gave us good suggestions for the nearby good restaurant. We did enjoy our short journey in this hotel.

No messing about with checking in/out. Key code emailled in good time. Early check in requested and approved. Bit of brekky and bottled water provided and all at a very reasonable price. Will definitely stay again.

We loved this place so have booked another night. Very high up with lovely views and everything you need is in this room.
The self entry is so easy with a code they send to you to get your keys . The decor is nice and the room was very clean. A little bit out of the way but well worth it.

This is far better than the standard one night places for working away.
Even had a mini fridge and some breakfast bits.

The property was clean and had lovely views across the valley. The shower room was lovely, with miniature shower gel/ shampoo & conditioner. Large shower area with two shower heads. I would have liked a shelf in the shower. Nice addition of breakfast items. Key in box was a bit fiddly. Staff friendly and helpful.

We only stayed for one night and i wish it could have been more. Lovely room and it was so quiet. Nice touches such as porridge pots, croissant, cold bottled water and lots of tea, coffee and milk, just made it comfortable and great price. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely clean quiet accommodation. Lots of parking at the front.

The room was great. Really quiet, clean and modern, and an excellent use of space. There was every appliance you'd need (kettle, fan, iron, TV, extra heater and even a fridge) and even some thoughtful touches with breakfast snacks included.
Self check in and parking were simple and accompanied by clear instructions by the host on the day.
It was convenient enough for visiting the Piece Hall and we'd definitely stay again.

Excellent communication. The room was absolutely beautiful. Really 5 star. Couldn’t fault it. Very reasonably priced. Easy parking. Great views too. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

The hobbit hotel rooms was absolutely fantastic to stay in! The self check in rooms were brilliant for our late arrival which we were surprised to arrive to such a lovely tranquil location.
Everything you would need was supplied, from tea and coffee to croissants and porridge for the morning. Will absolutely be back for my next stay!

Stayed during a warm spell and it would have been good to have had a fan in the room, however as we were upstairs we could have the patio door open to get cool air into the room, but was still difficult to sleep in the heat.

What a great hotel. We stayed in one of the rooms with a balcony giving fantastic views over the surrounding area. The room was well equipped with a refrigerator and even nice breakfast treats. The staff were very helpful and supplied us with extra items when needed. The walk-in shower was wonderful. And all at a great price.

This is a very nice away from it all stop.
Well furnished rooms and fresh new walkin shower room.
Lovely views.
There is noone there. So no services you have a key box and code.
Nice bars and restaurants short drives away. Nothing there. I love it. Have to be self sufficient car vital.

The check-in was very easy with the key safe.
Bathroom very modern and clean.
Bedroom looked as if could do with being redecorated as walls grubby and splashes of tea/coffee around tea making area.
Would stay in the hotel again. Hope it will do food in the future.

Little gem of a hotel tucked away in a peaceful beautiful spot. Rooms were lovely and tea coffee water and even porridge and biscuits were all free. Would highly recommend 😄

The room was absolutely fine for a short visit. It was quite compact, with a huge, comfortable bed and ample hanging space. There wasn’t much drawer space if staying for more than a couple of nights, but as I was only staying for one night I didn’t need it. The balcony as small, but allowed me the option to sit outside

The room is lovely as well as the bathroom! They don't have a couple of the common conveniences but went out of their way to make up for it.
The only issue I had was with the comfort of the bed but i know others would like it.

The location was really good and the property was very nice had everything for a short stay. Pleasantly surprised only thing is I would have preferred a later checkout.
But all good

Self check in worked well. Room had everything you needed (fridge, iron, kettle). Bed was comfy. Bathroom was good. Great for a one night stay.

We used this hotel for a concert at the Piece Hall in Halifax. £8 taxi to and £11 taxi from the event.
Exceptionally clean. Nice comfortable bed with enough pillows. Towels were nice and soft.
Tea and coffee plus pain au chocolate and porridge for breakfast.
Make sure you look on Google Maps before setting off as the roads are VERY narrow leading to the accommodation - but well worth the effort.

The room was perfect, comfy bed. The shower and bathroom were great. Lovely touch leaving porridge, water and brioche roll for breakfast thank you. The key safe was easy to use and meant no delays with check in/out etc. great value I would definitely book again.

The property was modern and cleaned and decorated to a high standard. The complimentary breakfast was very much appreciated. Self check-in was easy. Our only niggle was our accommodation smelt strongly of cigarette smoke as though someone had been smoking in the room. As nonsmokers this wasn't pleasant. The booking confirmation stated you get your check-in details and keybox code 24 hours prior however it's actually around lunchtime on the day. Updating this detail I'm sure would result in less queries for the owners/managers of the property.

Great value for money. Comfortable room with a balcony and a nice touch of a few breakfast things. We used it as a base for a gig at Piece Hall in Halifax and it was perfect , just a £10 taxi ride in. Would highly recommend
