Enjoyed my stay. Parking was very convenient and close to everything I needed

An older property but very cozy and comfortable at a great price. Great service, especially the little breakfast cafe which was very convenient. For those who attend Dragonsteel this hotel was a significant cost savings, less than half the price of the designated convention hotels and much easier to access. Highly recommend.

Salt Lake Plaza hotel was convenient, clean and comfortable. Wifi was fine. Some furniture and other things were a bit shabby, but everything worked.

EVert ib was very nice. On the 13th floor, the cabinet with wires was open with wires trailing down.No one seemed to be working with it for the 2 days that we were staying. We always like staying at the Plaza because it is so close to so many interesting places. And we also liked the available breakfast fare.

Great staff at the front desk who were friendly and helpful.
The view was great and the room was comfortable.
The walls were a little thin, but no more than most hotels.
I would be happy to stay here again.

Older building. Walls were NOT soundproof so wind and other guests were easily heard all night long. I was also charged almost $100 more than my receipt says with no explanation.

My room was one of the cleanest ones I've ever stayed at, and I travel a lot!

Place was nice but the lobby and communal areas were so hot it was making me sick. It was literally like sitting in a sauna with my clothes on.

Cons
First issue - there are balconies but you are not allowed to open your belcony door to the balcony. All of the windows are screwed shut. So it doesn't make much sense to pay extra for a room with a balcony when you technically still don't have a balcony it just looks like you do.
2nd - our phone in our room didn't work, and it was never resolved. I argued with the maintenance guy at the front counter for 5 minutes about it being plugged in & still didn't have a dial tone before just giving up and leaving for dinner.
3rd - the parking garage was a bit of a nightmare. Very low, make sure to go slow through the ramp areas it will rub. There's also only one easy access point from the garage to the hotel and it's the main floor. You're either walking all the way to the bottom level to enter to taking the stairs.
Our bathroom was ALOT of mirror (like all mirrors) lol like more than necessary to go to the bathroom.
Hotel is very outdated
Pros
- check in was easy and the security hold was returned promptly
- location, you're super close to alot of stuff which is very convenient. The cost and location are the saving grace of this hotel. It's affordable and clean and good for in a pinch. We were there for medical so money definitely was a factor.
Hotel was pretty quit, we never heard anyone else while in our room.
If the situation called for it, we'd definitely stay here again. But it could use some updating and give people the belcony they paid for.

Hotels.com deliberately or at least negligently gets you to book the wrong night and when you cancel and rebook they charge for both nights. Scam alert!!!!

Great location to the City Creek Mall, Temple Square, and the light rail station. The room is not big, but it is O.K. as it has a good city view. The water pipe upstairs or downstairs made strange noises on one night. The lobby has complmentary coffee! Overall, if you do not have a car or plan to use the public transportation to explore the city, it is a good choice!

We always love staying here, as the symphony hall is right across the street. I feel parking should just be included and not cost $10 extra but other than that, it was great!

I was in Salt Lake for a business trip and I have stayed at this hotel once before, and only stayed here this trip because the normal places I stay were really pricey.
This hotel has an excellent location near shopping and restaurants, has covered parking and feels safe. It is dated but that is part of the charm. However, I had a suite that had a large spa, but this was really dated and not appealing at all to use. Transitioning these rooms with showers would be much better. The televisions were very dated and not very clear. An update here would also help.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. And I was a little scared to be on the 13th floor... Superstitious I guess..
