About this cabin rental
Welcome to our beautifully furnished cabin near the top of Beech Mountain. Only minutes to the ski slopes and mountain biking trails, this cozy cabin has everything you need for a weekend getaway or a month-long stay. Whether you're looking for a romantic retreat or a family vacation, this is the one for you!
After a day of exploring all that Beech Mountain has to offer, come home to enjoy quiet nights in front of the gas fireplace with a glass of wine or sit outside roasting marshmallows over the custom firepit in the backyard. Breathe in the fresh mountain air, sit back and relax!
Our place is very accessible with only a few steps at the driveway to access the main floor. My 80yr old father who walks with a cane was very comfortable shuffling about the main floor without worrying about navigating steps. They stayed in the master bedroom and had everything they needed on one floor.
When you walk through the doors, you'll find the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, a full bathroom with shower, plus the master bedroom and ensuite bathroom. There is a futon in the master bedroom providing an extra sleeping space for little ones.
Downstairs you will find a games room equipped with a pool table, board games and a TV with Roku to access your streaming subscriptions. There are two guest bedrooms both equipped with electric fireplaces and TV's with Roku. Guest bedroom # 1 has a queen bed and Guest bedroom # 2 has a queen bed plus a double bed. There is plenty of closet and storage space to tuck your belongings away.
Downstairs you will also find the romantic, two-person jetted tub! This modern technology bathroom has a heated floor, speakers that you can connect to and a large, luxurious jetted tub.
The deck off the main living room provides seating for 8 and a Weber grill for your grilling needs. Picture yourself grilling your favorite meals while overlooking our spacious backyard with a custom flagstone firepit!
The kitchen is equipped with a coffee maker, griddle, slower cooker, blender and more! Making meals at home is easy and even washing dishes while watching for deer out the window is lovely. If you're looking for great restaurants though, you'll find there are many both on Beech Mountain and in Banner Elk. When you arrive, check out our welcome book for great places to eat and fun things to see and do!
Once your day is done, the outdoor firepit is a great spot to stare up at the stars or catch fireflies. Beech Mountain is a bear and deer reserve and we often have deer walking through our yard in the early mornings and at dusk.
There are so many great things to do at Beech Mountain:
Take a scenic chairlift ride to the top of the mountain and take in spectacular long-range views of the Blueridge Mountains! (See photos)
5506' is the bar at the top of the ski hill where you can enjoy a cold beverage!
In the summer the ski slopes are converted to mountain biking trails, with technical jumps and heart-stopping twists and turns!
5506' also offers weekend morning yoga at the top of the mountain and sunset dinners by reservation.
Sunset Park is just up the road and provides beautiful views as well.
The Land of Oz on Beech Mountain is a popular event that takes place only 3 weekends a year (Sept) and offers an immersive experience meeting the characters and walking the yellow brick road. Autumn at Oz Festival is one of the world’s largest Wonderful Wizard of Oz events!
The Emerald Outback trailhead is just 3 min away and offers several hiking trails leading to the to panoramic views of the Blueridge Mountains!
There are many waterfalls to explore and abundant trout fishing, too!
The Tennessee border is only 20 minutes away and opens up a whole other area to explore!
Dogs are always welcome but please, no cats - my husband is terribly allergic.
We look forward to making your stay as wonderful as possible!

Prime Beech Mountain location, convenient to Emerald Trailhead and Fred's, tasteful quality furnishings, great deck and backyard.

Wonderful location. Easy to get to and well stocked with everything we needed. Best part is the enclosed balcony that the dogs can stay safely on. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We very much enjoyed our stay. It was 4 of us, 2 children, and our dog. The house is amazing and sits well within a backyard of trees. Sitting on the back deck during the day and at night is very relaxing. You feel as though you are actually up in the trees. The house had everything we needed and more. Our children enjoyed walking our dog outside, exploring around the property. We also took walks around the neighborhood and it did not feel too busy. While you can see the other homes around you, it is very quiet and you feel secluded. We chose to visit Beech Mountain in order to escape the heat of July and it did not disappoint. The temperatures at the altitude of Beech were perfect, not too hot during the day and cooled down at night. There were also plenty of activities for us to engage in, in the vicinity (children's parks, creeks to play in, wineries, restaurants, alpine coaster). Tim and Sue were delightful to communicate with, they provided quick answers to any questions we had. We would certainly rent here again when visiting Beech Mountain. Thank you for hosting us!

This place is a real gem! It checks off all our boxes for travel!
Cleanliness: check - the cabin was very well kept and was stocked with everything you need.
Shower: check - great water pressure.
Bed: check - comfortable mattress and good sheets & blankets
Things to do: check - great location with plenty to do. Emerald Lookout is a very short drive and the jump-off point for several great hiking trails. Close to the “town” of Beech Mountain and Banner Elk. We were lucky enough to be there for Art on the Greene in Banner Elk as well as the Farmer’s Market in Beech Mountain.
Nothing to do: check - we took some time to just sit and do nothing. The deck is a perfect peaceful spot to sit and enjoy the cool summer temps in the mountains.
No need to cook: check - though the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need, we aren’t much on cooking while vacationing. There are numerous options for dining. We ate at Stonewall’s in Banner Elk, Holy Smokes in Beech Mountain and Beech Mountain Brewing Company and Grill at the resort. They were all good! We also enjoyed a drink at 5506’ Bar at the top of the resort. They had live 80’s music, which was a treat. We didn’t want to take the ski lift to the top, so we parked at Emerald Outlook parking and walked the 0.8 miles up the road to the top of the resort.
Overall, this was a perfect getaway to the mountains! The hosts were perfect and communicated very clearly throughout the process.

This is a great spot for mountain adventures regardless of the season and this mountain cabin does not disappoint. The huge back deck is great for cooking out and relaxing in the sun. The kitchen is very well appointed for those that like to cook. The outdoor fire pit is great for roasting s'mores and relaxing after a day of activity. Larger groups will enjoy the spread out floor plan as well as the pool/ping pong table and a host of games in the "basement." We were very happy to be able to bring our dog along with us. Oh and having a washer and dryer allowed us to pack lighter. There are so many things to do in this area year-round, from skiing to hiking to mountain biking. Banner Elk is close by and has lots of shops, restaurants and spots for craft beer. Definitely explore the area as there is so much to do in close proximity. We will absolutely return soon.

We loved our stay here and it was exciting to be the first guests! What a lucky find!
As soon as we walked through the front door, we felt the warm coziness of the cabin. The entire space was so clean and well-appointed that we felt immediately at home. It's ideal for whatever type of trip you are planning - family adventures, girls' (or guys') trip or a romantic getaway - there's plenty of space both inside and out whether you are a party of two or eight.
We whipped up delicious meals in the fully-equipped kitchen (loads of tools, dishes and utensils) and ate on the back deck while enjoying the sunset. Afterwards, we made our way down to the firepit to lounge in the adirondack chairs while enjoying an after dinner cocktail. If you have kids with you, plan on roasting marshmallows for s'mores. It's the perfect spot! I think we spent most of our time here out on the back deck enjoying the fresh mountain air and the sounds of the neighbor's babbling creek.
The beds were very comfortable and this home was very quiet. We got a great night's sleep both before and after our mountain adventures. On this trip, we chose to hike and fish and were close to everything we wanted to do in the area. Should you find yourself here in winter, you are mere minutes from the ski slopes.
The hosts were exceptionally responsive and helpful. We were also incredibly grateful to find a place that allows us to bring along our dog. Overall a fantastic stay and we know we will be back!
