Built on the site of the renowned Bear Pit, a venue for animal sports in the 1600s and 1700s, and referenced in the diaries of Samuel Pepys, this home boasts unique historical significance. Some original elements of the bear garden still exist beneath the property, making it a true historic London gem. Erected in 1860, Pepys House offers a direct link to the past while providing all the comforts of modern living with its stylish interior.
This spacious property features four inviting bedrooms, all located on the ground floor, comfortably sleeping up to 8 guests. Perfect for families or groups visiting London and looking to immerse themselves in history, or executives looking for a stylish property in the heart of London.
The master bedroom features a grand super king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with bath and built-in wardrobes. The second bedroom includes a king-sized bed, en-suite and dressing table, while the third bedroom offers the same, without the en-suite. The fourth bedroom has a double-sized bed and a lower-level office space. Each room is thoughtfully designed for comfort and style, ensuring a restful stay for everyone.
Upstairs, you'll find a breathtaking vaulted entertaining space with a double-height ceiling and original wooden beams, adding to the home's historical charm. Although there are strictly no parties, stag, or hen celebrations permitted, the large, open-plan living and kitchen area space invites you to gather with friends or family and make the most of such a grandeur property.
