We stayed for three nights in this lovely home. The unfortunate part of this stay is that we barely had any hot water while we were there. We had to take cold showers based on the way the heating system worked. We shower in the evening and could get a warm show to save our lives. It made it tough at the end of a long day. Also, for the price And in today’s times, there should be WiFi access even if it is a paid amenity. It becomes difficult to plan your stay with no access to Wi-Fi.

We woke one morning with no hot water. Our son found the water heater and turned it on and gradually we had hot water. Other than that we had a pleasant stay.

My reviews on this property (Galway Bay Resort, as it is listed on VRBO, not "Goway") are mixed. The house is clean and comfortable, and located in a safe area.
What we found frustrating about our experience with the property management company (Trident) was the difficulty communicating with them. We were required to call the property manager 24-48 hours to get instructions for obtaining the keys: she never answered her phone and I had to resort to emailing the company directly, who tracked her down and had her call me. I messaged her a couple of times during our stay (we had problems unlocking the doors and windows upstairs and consequently those bedrooms were extremely hot and stuffy), but she never responded.
The other thing that left a very bad taste in my mouth was the manner in which the property "nickel and dimed" us... I don't expect a VRBO to provide basic supplies, but compared to other places Galway Bay Resort was very poor: there was not a single roll of toilet paper (maybe leave just one?) 1 thin pillow per bed, 1 small towel per guest, no coffee maker, and (read the fine print before you book...) no wifi???
Even though it was clean, we wouldn't recommend or return to Galway Bay Resort.

We were really pleased to stay in this accommodation and really can recommend it to friends and anyone who loves to travel with friends and family.
Thank you

The property listed on VRBO had wrong information listed. There is a third party management company adding another layer of communications to deal with.
Our stay was paid for in advance but before we could get the entrance code, I had to give an agent my credit card number over the phone to an individual agent so that I could be charged for electricity. This is an UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS business practice.
We were not told there was no wifi available until after we checked in. DEAL BREAKER.
Tho generally clean, there were no amenities that I have come to enjoy over the years from VRBO. No coffee or tea, no hand towels or bath mats in bathrooms (unsafe on tiles ), cold water in upstairs sink not working, water standing in the washing machine. Not even an extra roll of toilet paper in the bathrooms.
It was the most expensive property we rented. Wished I had stayed at a hotel. I will NOT recommend this property to family or clients.
VRBO not up to the warm welcoming standards I've come to expect over the years.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - so overall very good. However in this day and age the house would benefit from WiFi. The shower was very poor and there was never enough hot water for 6 people. Basic essential were available - but no extras such as a coffee cafetière or egg cups. No welcome pack as promised - towels were extra and only one per person provided at extra cost. No outside furniture or a BBQ which was a shame as the weather was fabulous. We wouldn’t return to this house - as we like a few more home comforts but it was adequate for our stay.

Lovely spot
Not a lot to dislike bar one issue re electricity not included in price
Make sure the bins outside property are empty, or at least, have some room.
Electric bill on departure would make me reluctant to rebook.

Really nice place
The house is located in a small village called Renville. It is very quiet there and you can relax very well. There is a circular path around the village and you can walk to the ocean. The house has 6 beds and three bathrooms. It is easy to get to Galway and Oranmore has everything you need.

Galway Bay Lodge Renville Village
I gave check-in and communication 4 stars because of the difficulties of communicating globally and not having any prior experiences. The pictures adequately represent the property. I'm not sure I understood the utility information very clearly and I'm still waiting to see how we are charged for that.
We had planned on another couple coming with us but they were unable to. There was only one day we didn't have enough hot water for both of us to shower and there are directions in the welcome folder explaining how to get a boost of hot water but it was not a big deal. I'm not sure how it would have been if there were several adults using hot water on the same day, especially since we didn't run the dishwasher or washer but once while we were there for 9 days.
There is a beautiful walking path in the Renville Park. The is no Wifi unless you go to the golf club and that stunk. There is one flight of stairs which wasn't a big deal until I broke my foot at the conference I was attending; however there was a wheelchair accessible ramp going into the house. The ramp was helpful not only for the broke foot but for rolling luggage in and out as well.
The weather was great, rain and all. We slept with the windows and bedroom door open to enjoy the breeze. The only thing that could have made it better was if there was a gate that opened toward the path behind the house.

Needs some TLC
Nice looking property in need of some TLC. Most bathroom fixtures need upgrading. A few days in off season could fix the problems.

Perfect place to stay in the Galway area
This was a great place to stay, the home was very nice with everything we needed to make a memorable stay in Ireland. It's location was perfect for visiting the Cliff's of Moher and several castle close by, which is exactly what we were looking for.
