Very cosy tiny Mod Room unfortunately facing the pool on 1st floor , it is noisy from appliances being used and noise from the restaurants. Agility required for the very fitted bed.
We got a late rate deal so probably shouldn't be too surprised.
The Dean is a lovely friendly hotel in a great location.

Very modern hotel with lovely staff. Very noisy outside at night time. Leisure area was amazing

Renovated city hotel. Very up to date. Parking was a bit of a pain. Convenient walking location and staff were very nice.

Very nice hotel in a super convenient area. Parking was a bit annoying as you have to figure it out yourself but we lucked into street parking right out front that is free overnight. The rooms are quite small but very nice and love the decor. Just make sure to bring your bathing suit! We deeply regretted not being able to use the outdoor heated pool.

Really nice hotel, the room was huge and super comfy! Really quiet and i had a great sleep my whole stay. Staff in the spa/gym were super helpful and friendly too. Really recommend this hotel for female solo travelers! I felt very safe and relaxed there.

Lovely hotel. Very comfortable bed and posh bathroom. Rooftop restaurant was excellent. My favorite part was the pool/giant jacuzzi.

The outdoor heated pool was unique

The hotel has a unique character and the staff was friendly and highly responsive. Request a room in the back as the first night we had a room facing the street and the noise kept me from sleeping. The staff happily relocated us for the second night and the room was very quiet and even offered a bit more room.

Very efficient check in. Nice room but NO storage - just a rail. Shower door too small so flooded the bathroom floor.
Exceptional servicing of room - reset room each day as if we weren’t there. Didn’t need to ring down for anything.
Bar staff need training - in speed and basic bar work - no ice or lemon in G&T in fact not even two glasses the same.

Was not made aware that we had to walk up a half mile hill with our luggage and pay for parking. Room very small and dated. Would not recommend. Staff very friendly and helpful but someone needs to make people aware of the problems.

We loved our stay at the Dean. We got upgraded which was so nice and our room was beautiful, it was the best shower ever. The hotel has a coffee bar downstairs & my latte was great, they also had a rooftop restaurant Sophie’s which was also amazing. We highly recommend!

We stayed here for a night. The place is funky and had lots of extra room accessories such as a record player. The hotel staff were attentive to the hotel guest. Able to hold our luggage. The room was clean and had two rooms as we had 4 people.
We did have two teenages girls with us and the pullout bed was really not suitable for them in length. It was not a true bed that would fit the kids. They also forgot to sheets and linen. The kids did not get the best sleep. And our bed had a weird center divit.
We ate at the rooftop restaurant. The service there was a little lacking and the menu/food was not that great (Steak mostly fat; pizza burnt) with slow service and forgetful of our drink orders. Our waitress just seamed overwhelmed.
Even with all of this; I really enjoyed this hotel. Easy access to the city. Eye Candy.

Beautiful hotel, comfortable room. Nothing to fault, loved it.

Very hip vibe. Great artsy interior design. Rooms had a lot of personality. Very comfortable.

The hotel is very kitschy… which is nice. My biggest issue was the room.. We had a king sized bed… assuming the room would be bigger (I know.. it’s Europe).. but the bed was practically the size of the room. No closet … luggage did fit under bed. A turntable took up a lot of space on desk.. I guess being older (64yo) we need a little more comfort … good for a 20 something.

Would have given the Dean a 5 star, but the bed was the most uncomfortable bed that we have slept in anywhere we have stayed. Everything else was great.

The hostess / waitress at Sophie’s Restaurant was excellent — we had her for breakfast twice and she was outgoing, helpful and professional.

Beautiful place. Note that Mod pods don’t have anywhere to put your clothes. Room floors were dirty wouldn’t go barefoot.

Unfortunately we had a blocked bathroom sink issue . It was blocked and would not drain . After several attempts to phone to reception … no answer so I went down to reception.I had to wait in our room for a member of staff to arrive with all the equipment to unblock it … which indicates it is a common problem in the Dean Galway.
This is unacceptable and no apology was given by the hotel staff even we checked out!
We did not find this at the Cork Dean hotel .
I think there is a lack of management of the young but well meaning inexperienced staff at Galway Dean .
As we stay each year in a Dean Ireland We were dissapointed. I

Hotel was amazingly decorated and laid out. Loved the bathroom in particular.
Only issues were the fact the speaker didn’t work (is it a prop?) and that when we asked for some decaf coffee we were given powder for a machine yet of course the room has no machine.
Small things but all in all a lovely experience

We very much enjoyed our stay, especially the hydrotherapy pool (highly recommend working in time to experience) and would stay again. Location was slightly out of the are of main attractions but easy walk. Short walk from bus depot and tour pickup spot. Only complaint about room was the lack of space for belongings and suitcases. Decoration prioritized over function. Everything else was fab and we were able to check in early.

Very nice and beautiful room, but small. Very nice staff. Central location and possibility to park the car quite nearby.
But the doublebed was too small, maybe fit if you are a newlywed coupe. But not for a little bit older couple.

Loved the stay! Hotel was clean, easy to get to, and in a very walkable area. The bar at the rooftop is really nice and pleasant in the summer to sit outside. Also the coffee bar in the lobby has great smoothies and coffee. Very cute design and would recommend.

When I booked this hotel, I was so excited to see it in person. The Dean did not disappoint in all areas. Upon arrival, the front desk staff (I didn't get their names) shared the best things about Galway, how to access them and engaged in a conversation that made you feel like you were a guest in their home. The amenities were outstanding and the design and function were clearly evident.
We ate dinner at Sophie's our first night and the food did not disappoint neither did the view.
I would HIGHLY suggest this hotel and want to give kudo's to the lovely young lady and gentleman that checked us in.

Nice property, same as Dublin and Cork. Great decor. Nice rooftop restaurant. Rooms are small but clean and shower works well. More for short stays. Be prepared for small room; this isn't the most ideal place for you if you plan on staying for a long trip and want to iron, hang items, etc. Pool is nice. Only downside are some of the staff. It's either a kind, friendly "johnny jump up" style or it's the totally the opposite. Particularly, Peig’s Bar staff. The bartenders there are absolutely rash, unconcerned, neglectful and inattentive for such a small spot. Sad, since it's the hotel paid a lot to make such a welcoming space.

Room was nice but small. All shelf space was covered in mini bar and hotel stuff which made it difficult to unpack bags and settle in. Fridge was full of bar stuff too. Please make space for guests.
Bed had a sinkhole in the middle. Very strange.

Everything went very smooth, nice room, good food, very friendly and helpful staff
