Our second visit, and was as good as the first. Quiet spot at end of the road, plantation at the back of the garden with many walks straight from the house up the mountain. Perfect for our active dogs, they loved it. Had everything we needed, Peter also very helpful with our queries.

This was our second visit to Bibi's Joy and we were not disappointed. It is comfortable, spacious and off the grid - no worries about loadshedding. Peter, as always, is a great communicator and will respond within minutes to any questions one might have. This year he added two rechargable fans for the bedrooms - this was great as our weather was a bit on the warm side. Bibi's Joy is very quiet, private and in a very natural environments. Great place to relax and unwind and yet be relatively close to Swellendam.

The beds were so deliciously comfortable, we were sad we were only there for 1 night. The cottage is cold (well it was winter) but the fireplace heats everything up quickly. Very clean but a bit dark. Lovely garden. All solar or gas, so no load shedding issues
There could be more lighting in the kitchen area especially around the sink but otherwise nothing to dislike

Perter & Bibi's place is quite unique. It is quite spacious and is surrounded by a very attractive garden on the hillside in front of the cottage. The whole front of the cottage has essentially sliding doors making the garden area sort of part of the house. The big plus with this place is that it is off the grid. Just solar and gas. Thus no worries about loadshedding and losing your power and Wifi. This is a great place to chill out. Definitely a place to return to. Thank you Peter!

The rural setting, art, caring for environment, bird pictures & nesting boxes, solar power, comfortable beds, lovely fire in the stove.
Garden needs tidying.

Enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and hiking trails in the back yard. Double glazed windows does wonders for blocking out noise too.
The bed wasn't made in 1 room. We ended up getting here quite late in the night and then still had to spend time making the bed. Main bathroom had a very strong odour

This property is quite exceptional and based on the price this was unexpected. It’s really homely but stylish…. One feels treated.and the location is somewhat rural but most about being in nature snd with nature in the most comfortable way. We loved our stay

Lovely, spotless, spacious cottage nestled in stunning surroundings. Our dogs were in seventh heaven exploring the massive, completely enclosed garden for hours. We swam in the river and hiked straight from the back yard. The owner was very responsive and helpful throughout. So much care and thought has gone into this property, it's quite wonderful. Exceptional value for money. We can't wait to go back!
I was a bit warm at night. Fans in the bedrooms would be a great addition. The kitchen is extremely well appointed but we could have used some steak knives and a pair of scissors. Some outdoor cushions would also be very welcome.

Tranquility, very good level of household facilities, access to countryside.
Everything fine with the accommodation. Bear in mind though Suurbraak is a quiet small town with limited facilities. That is part of the charm & not a complaint. Swellendam fairly close by at 28km.

The firewood was wet and couldn't be used. So no warmth and wasted my time trying to get it going. Worse is that i was told it was an issue with the previous guests to.
No instructions as how to use the Dover stove. Not a biggie but just in case people wanted to use it.
There was a security camera monitor that freaked my partner out as she assumed it meant the house was a security risk. This was not explained to us on booking or in a welcome note.

It is a very quiet and peaceful location with all the necessary comforts for a very relaxing stay.
The only thing I missed in the kitchen was a toaster.

Beautiful little cottage nestled in the forest. Our check in was easy and everything was explained perfectly. Great value for money to have the entire place to yourself and be able to pop out for a walk up the mountain or on the river. Wish we could stay longer.

Absolutely loved the nature surrounding the house and all the hiking trails and the swims in the river and dam. It was tranquil and private.
