situation hotel, superbe vue.
le matin avec mauvais temps, terrasse petit déjeuner fermé, et donc 20 mn d'attente (vers 9h du matin)
et service au petit déjeuner pas toujours très aimable...

The view from "the Deck" where breakfast was served and drinks and snacks were available during the day was absolutely exceptional and the atmosphere was great. The staff were all lovely. We ate at the restaurant on the square which was lovely too. It was a great place to have as a base to explore other towns along the railway line and walking trails.
The stairs are hard work with cases but the staff were really helpful and offered to take them up and down for us. The stairs are well advertised and are the reason why the views are so good and it is quiet away from the business of the square. They are well worth it.

Breakfast was fantastic. View was unbelievable. The room was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. One of the men carried my wife's suitcase up the long stairs. We loved it here and will definitely return one day.
Absolutely nothing. I didn't see air conditioning but we didn't need it since it was first of May. I don't know how it would be in the summer, but we loved this place above all our other stays in Italy.

La vista sul mare. Fantastica
Bene o male andava tutto bene

The deck was exceptional

Our room came with an air conditioner, even though the booking said a fan will be provided! Basic breakfast with an awesome view.
None!

We were happy with the room except for the lack of AC. The view was satisfactory but especially the view on the hillside which we had to ourselves mostly. Breakfast was wonderful with a great view as well.
Didn't like the fact that there was no Air conditioning. Very uncomfortable for sleeping. Also, the room didn't have any fridge so we couldn't store food and drinks. I asked the staff for ice and they could only give us 5 ice cubes for 5 of us! Not okay. When I asked for more ice they said that they needed it and walked away from me. Not acceptable, they were not courteous or accommodating. The other thing is I wouldn't recommend the room for seniors because you have to lug your luggage hundreds of steps and no elevator. Staff need to be trained on being more hospitable, courteous and accommodating. We will never return to this hotel.

Great location but there are stairs to climb. Very pleasant stay.
4.1
Great location with wonderful view of the sea. Within walking distance from the train station and close to the restaurants in town.
The breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly.
4.1
The ocean views from the terrace are excellent and we were lucky enough to have our own deck! Stairs to get this view!
I thought the breakfast was adequate but could be better.
4.1
An elegant Italian rip-off in an amazing and unique location on the coast. The stay was during off-season, so there were less tourists there. The hotel was also running one (the only?) restaurant downtown open that served cheap Italian food - spaghetti Bolognese (almost 20 Euro) and a tin of Coca-Cola for almost 5 Euro. Conveniently, the staff forgot to credit us for also staying in their hotel (-10%). I wonder how much profit they generate in high season!
The rooms (floor, toilette) were not clean. The cheap table cloth-like towels also were not well really clean. The beds were horrible and the mattrasses well worn down. The heating was working and we were glad that we did not have to put on the air conditioners. Getting the most out the travellars only works because the location of the adjacent terrrace is absolutely stunning.

Location. View. Centre court.

location and very nice staff at check in. we also liked the restaurant.
Housekeeping knocked before 9am, which was a bit early for still jet-lagged visitors.

Food was wonderful - breakfast delicious and terrace was spectacular
Well - lots of steps but that is everywhere there.

This is an exceptional hotel with a new modern room and bathroom. There is a terrace with view to die for.
Less stairs but if you want a great view you have to climb lol
4.1
location and the deck for breakfast. the fact that we were able to be upgraded for 4 of 5 nights
the room that we booked through booking.com was far less agreeable than expected. It did not meet expectations - very small, noisy. AT arrival we asked if there was the ability to upgrade and we were upgraded to a room with a view for 4 of the 5 nights. The difference in the two rooms was significant.

Breakfast terrace was beautiful. Nice breakfast croissants, ham, cheese, great coffee, etc. Easy to find, they seem to be one of the main hotel/restaurants of the village.
Lots of steps to carry luggage, but they indicated that. Window had no view, just the wall of the next building. Black mold on the bathroom wall. Otherwise the bed was nice. Could have been cleaner. This is a very small village, so not a lot of choice or competition and I imagine it's a difficult place to supply, etc. but even so it was somewhat overpriced.

View and location are fantastic!
The staff seemed like they were bored with yet another tourist. Breakfast ok but not fantastic. room was ok but beds uncomfortable.

It's the location of this place that makes it. It has great balcony in the bar with a view that's hard to beat. Try the vernazza mule -pricey but nice.
The walk to the rooms are a bit of a hike especially if you have heavy luggage, and paying €15 for a veg soup/minestrone soup in the restaurant, I thought was a bit steep.

The location for the breakfast on an open terrace overlooking the sea is beautiful and one of the hotel's (only) attractions. Unfortunately, it was cool and windy, so we stayed only briefly and the staff already cleared my place even while I was at the buffet considering whether to take more.
We made one error in taking too much luggage from the car park - I knew we had to park outside town, but I assumed the "free shuttle" would take us to the hotel door - in fact it is about 300m away, so we struggled with bags through a Friday evening crowd to the hotel. Then learned that the room is about 100 steep steps up the slope in a different building from the reception. No help was offered with bags even though the receptionist led the way to the room. I felt the attitude was we were idiots to bring so much stuff so let us suffer. When we left, I asked for help but was told no-one was available so we did the same struggle back to the shuttle drop-off.
Vernazza is beautiful and picturesque but too crowded now - we thought it would be quieter in late September, but this did not apply to Friday evening and noise from the square kept us awake until past 2.00am.
The room was tiny with a strange layout, uncomfortable bed with hard pillows, no drinking water in the room (or available from the upper bar when asked), very narrow and ancient shower. The breakfast was miserable for a hotel charging €140-150 per night, a poor continental breakfast, some croissants and rolls, cold boiled eggs, cheap breakfast cereals, 2 types of sliced ham and orange juice & coffee.
Consequently the picturesque quality of Vernazza did nothing to overcome the miserable experience of an overcrowded tourist trap with lousy service.

The best thing is the location close to the centre of Vernazza. The breakfast terrace is an absolute stand-out of our stay, situated high above the sea with beautiful sunshine and spectacular views each morning to start your day. There is another terrace that is accessible which is a peaceful spot ideal for enjoying an evening drink in the moonlight. The hotel bar and restaurant is in the main square and the food is excellent with 10% discount to residents. Vernazza itself is a wonderful seaside village which is bustling but never too busy and we felt had a lovely vibe, with beautiful sunsets across the bay.
Nothing not to like

Nice, clean rooms with an old world Italian flair! The included breakfast was great and staff very friendly and accommodating. Also the additional areas of seating overlooking the sea were very nice!
Rooms got a little warm during the evening.

Two of the rooms were hot and lacked air flow.

location, close to the seafront, was very good
112 steps to our room!!

It was the perfect location. The restaurant is phenomenal, particularly the anchovies and the pasta with pesto. Breakfast on the deck was good and the view stunning.
Honestly our only complaint was rain our last day but that is no one’s fault. The rooms are simple, as we expected, no AC or mini fridge.
4.1
The breakfast balcony was gorgeous!
