The publicity said this was a modern updated accommodation but we found it was not. The basic facilities were adequate but not modern and the sink was difficult to empty.
Breakfast appeared to be pre prepared and microwaved to re heat - and brought to table before ready
Breakfast prep and cleanliness- saying that the receptionist was very helpful and pleasant

Chambre spacieuse donnant sur joli jardin anglais, style un peu rétro mais confortable
Bon petit déjeuner anglais ou continental au choix
Personnel aimable

The staff were very pleasant. The bathroom felt clean. The bedding felt clean, few minutes walk to the Hospital, which was why we stayed.
It was not as described or in meeting our expectations. We looked at previous reviews and thought the guest house would be much better. Not like photos at all
The room was more than dated, it was bad. The beds creaked even when sitting on it. The windows didn't open well - we had to put a door stop in one to keep it open, whereas the other window just dropped down and we couldn't shut it. We needed to open the windows because the radiator was boiling hot and the thermostat control was faulty.
I came into the room on the first night at 8pm following a hospital operation, so just needed a bed - if I was feeling well enough, I would have said on checking in that I wasn't happy.
The next morning - I was looking forward to the breakfast, as reviews from others said it was great. Well, sorry but it really wasn't. We had to pre order the breakfast the day before, and I think they cook it early and just keep it warm. It really was awful , but the weird thing was the hash browns were raw in the middle. I couldn't eat it and politely asked them if they could cook the hash browns and heat up the rest of the food. They did - the lady was pleasant, but i just couldn't eat it. The toast was half toasted.
Then.....we returned to the room. I wanted to sleep because of my op but a lady knocked on my door. I explained I wanted to rest for the day, but she said its good to go out for a walk. Well meaning maybe, but crikey!
I did rest but really felt I couldn't stay another night and recuperate after an operation, so we left and my husband drove us home.
i don't like to leave a negative review BUT.....I have contacted the guest house AND customer services with Booking.com and nothing seems to be resolved. Pickwicks did apologise, offered my a nights refund but I am still waiting for it and they aren't replying to any messages.
I really couldn't recommend Pickwicks.

This hotel had a breakfast that was included in the stay. When we checked in, they showed us the breakfast options and asked what we wanted so they could be prepared with it in the morning and that breakfast was served at 7:30 AM. The room was very spacious and decorated nicely. The beds were comfortable. We did have to share a hallway bathroom, but we never encountered anyone else during our stay that needed to use it.
When we came down for breakfast at 7:30 AM they informed us that the breakfast we chose wouldn't be available until 8 AM. This delayed the start we wanted to make to our day, but we managed it.

Nice comfy room with clean bathroom. Garden to relax (unfortunately the weather wasn't ideal for that:). Parking space in front of the hotel. Excellent location for us: easy to park the car and at walking distance from the city center (about half hour walk).

Good location for visiting a relative in that part of Oxford; friendly welcoming reception; plenty of off-road parking at the guest house; nice breakfast; 2 busses every 10min into the centre from a stop about 50yds up the road.
Hot water for the shower took a few moments to come through. Nothing significant that I didn't like really. It is an old building, with floors slightly creaky etc but does that matter?

It had a good location with just a few steps away from the bus stop going to City Center. Staff were very accomodating, breakfast was good and the place was clean. I also felt safe walking around the area, there were restaurants nearby, and the rooms had a decent size including the shower. They also have an inhouse garden to chill. I'm unable to take a photo of my room and the shower 'coz I decided to checkout before making the review.

Excellent breakfast - very generous and cooked very nicely. The dining area and garden in general were lovely. The room (twin) suited us well - slept very well and I appreciate the sink in the room. The shared bathroom was also good with a spare loo that is separate, although the shower could do with a little maintenance or upgrade. Very clean though.
The same can be said for the room - it was a little tired in places, including a hole in the single pane glass window that might need patching up (broken glass on the sill) as I imagine this is a bit cold in the winter. The walls could also do with a paint as there are quite a few marks. But generally very nice and so pleased we booked this over a hostel.
It was great it was only 10-15 minutes on a bus from the centre, and buses ran regularly every 10-15 minutes or so (24 hour ticket meant this only cost us £4.50 or so).

Great staff, location and value for money. Really liked friendly staff and breakfast included at great price.
Would have preferred a quieter room we were above dinning area. Having said that we had a great night's sleep so all good.

We came to Oxford to go to a carol service at the cathedral. Our one night stay was comfortable and convenient.
The staff were polite and helpful and breakfast was good. We would have been happy to stay longer in different circumstances Our room, with balcony, overlooked an attractive garden which could have been a bonus in the summer
It would have been helpful to have had a copy of the excellent bus service and a city centre street map in the room
We had a superior room, but, although the bathroom was clean and the water hot and plentiful, it was a little tired,
definitely in need of some upgrading
