Perfect

Cleanliness of the highest level. Everything you would want in a home from home. Really comfortable beds, lovely to sit as a family chatting before our evening night out. More relaxed than a hotel. Great communication from Sally, thank you very much.

House sleeps 6? Then why is the maximum occupancy 5???

the house is advertised for 6, but in the house we found a notice that for safety reasons the maximum occupancy is 5 only!

First horrid host experience on booking.com

The place is comfortable for a family of 5.

Other than this, the place is not clean or furnished as advertised. The host is lousy in providing services for eg - my grandmother is old and needs a heater as she feels cold easily, we had to call each day to request the heater to be switched on. The bedsheet smelt of being used by previous guests and the entire floor which occupies 3 rooms is shaking and creaky making it very noisy and troublesome for a family. The rooms are extremely opposite to the photos shown as they are small and the beds are of cheapest quality making it hard for people with slightest of back pain The dustbins smelt profusely and were kept unclean for us when we arrived. The worst bit was the host tried to pin extra details on our checkout for them to retain the pre-authorized amount of money which was the worst treatment received for a hospitable family owned business. I'd give 4/5 but the service is appalling enough to barely reach 1/5 for a family house that they advertise hospitality. Would not recommend. P.S - the last picture shows that given our error in knowing our checkout time at 10 we had to make a brisk exit by 11 yet cleaning all the utensils. The host came back with issues of water seeping in the sink without any proof. I'm not a disgruntled guest but a disappointed one because the location and the stay could have been a comfortable experience.

Excellent base for attending a family event in Oxford

The area was quiet at night. The facilities were great. The shower in the bathroom is huge. The garden is a lovely sun trap. The parking is good.

The stairs are quite steep and the steps quite shallow. Was OK for us but I imagine might be a problem for some. The numbers are quite difficult to see on the key lock box. We used a torch.

Perfect stay

Booked for theatre trip in Oxford. Convenient bus stop five minutes away for Oxford town centre and a local a shop within walking distance of the house. We loved the spacious property, clean and well organised.

Stressful Experience

Provided Milk, coffee and tea House nicely furnished and comfortable Lots of amenities/provisions eg iron, washing up liquid Check in was easy & 2 sets of keys (lockbox) Good size driveway for parking

Bank transfer information not clear on the Booking app (buried in a long message). Having no credit/debit card option made the process more stressful. Was sent the bank transfer details on a Saturday with only a 24 hour window to complete, else booking would be cancelled. This happened the first time with the deposit payment. They cancelled for no reason and then when I rebooked the price was up 40% (not sure if it was a booking error or the company, but no explanation provided) Deposit rules are very strict. They have a camera watching the door and say that if at any point more than 5 people are in the house you lose the deposit. No cleaning fee so just be aware of that. Need to empty all the bins and clean all the surfaces. Some inattention to detail: Only 4 towels for 5 guests. No coasters. Lamp doesn't work. Twin bedroom doors don't close

Very good

How was clean, warm and comfortable. Great location for the town centre. Sat nav takes you straight to the property and there is plenty of parking for 2 cars.

Only negatives would be the fridge still had a the same leak from the last time we stayed, not sure if this has something to do with the fact it’s not used enough? and also the shower drain was severely blocked which resulted in water leaking all over the bathroom floor.

The place was spacious and comfortable. Nice to have 1.5 bathrooms. Easy access to the bus line into the university which is key given traffic and parking issues.

Clean up process for check out appears a bit stringent, eg, instructions on putting washings away is fine but underscoring that it has to be dry, etc., made the check out process rushed in the morning after breakfast.
