Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom and shower while not roomy were functional. Liked that there were bottles of bath gel, shampoo and conditioner provided. Didn't take advantage of the breakfast or popcorn but like that it is available if you want!
Had an issue with the door locking and unlocking properly when coming and going. This has been an issue in the past and management knows about it. Not sure why it has not been addressed as we have been coming to the Thunderbird Inn for about 5 years on and off. Also, something small but not a big fan of the remotes for the TVs. Unable to bring up the guide to choose a channel and just wish the remote for the TV was better overall.

Staff makes an effort to ensure your stay is exceptional. Within walking distance of historic Savannah.
Some people may be turned off by the “motel appearance” but they shouldn’t be deterred by that. It’s a great stay.

The location was good.
The price was outrageous for a roadside motel. You weren't happy with a high price but had to add parking costs to get even more. The room didn't even have a microwave which are very inexpensive to purchase. The room was light during the night; a dark window shade would be cheap to obtain. The furnished blanket was too light for this time of the year.

Friendly and helpful staff with clean room and comfortable bed. Good location on the edge of the Historic Downton, while also close the Interstate. Savannah is a stunning city with great history and beautiful parks.
Breakfast was limited to sugary donuts. The windows in our room faced into a stairwell. It was noisy and bright at night from the nearby busy road. Be aware there is a $15(+tax) parking charge per night, although this is cheaper than some other hotels in the area.

The room was spacious and we liked how the theme was executed
The text messages as a form of communication. I have an international number and my service provider charges me for any text messages outside of the US. It may be a nice service for US travelers, but isn’t great for international travelers.

Absolutely adorable little retro motel. The lactation was in walking distance to River street, which was great. And the customer was amazing. Will definitely be back!!

The size of the room and location were pretty good.we had trouble with the thermostat control and someone was there to help in 2 minutes
The outside garbage at the bottom of the stairs was overflowing the whole time we were there

The location is convenient to the Historic District and the color scheme and decor are super cute and fun. Both ladies that helped me at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. Seriously, top notch staff. I felt so welcome.
While being walking distance to cool stuff, it's not really safely walkable. The neighborhood is pretty rough between the motel and the touristy places. We saw lots of boarded up and busted out windows and homeless and drug use.
Also, the floors in our room were not clean. I went barefoot briefly and it was black on the bottoms of my feet. There were crunchy, gritty, spots of dirt beside my bed that didn't feel good to step in.
I didn't love the motion sensor light in the restroom. I get how it's efficient, but you'll also get blasted with bright light when you're half asleep and just wanting to take a pee break in the night.

We loved it all! The staff was incredible and so friendly! It was so much fun staying there.
paying for parking I felt was unnecessary.

attractive and fun, clean,
noisy, people talking outside room were annoying. Ask guests to keep voices down.

The location was excellent and very convenient. We loved the vibe, super unique. The doughnuts were beyond delicious!
Not sure our shower had been thoroughly cleaned as there was hair on the walls. Everything else was super clean, though. The toilet paper holder fell out of the wall (it hadn't been screwed into a stud, apparently).

Door lock was really bad. Sometime it took us up to 5 minutes to get I to our room because the lock latch wouldn't retract all the way still catching on the door frame. That's annoying as hell when your drunk trying to get into your room. Road noise was an issue as for the hotel is RIGHT THERE on the side of the road at an intersection. One night, stop and stay. I wouldn't book a week here.

The rooms are cool, an eclectic style from the '60s and '70s... They did a good job for making an older hotel into what it is today.
The staff was very accommodating especially when it came to the pot smokers next door filling our room with the sweet smells of marijuana, moving us to another room quickly.
All the other stuff provided like coffee and popcorn and donuts and so on was nice and again the staff was great!
The location is also great, walking distance to everything Savannah has to offer!
It is an older hotel so the walls are thin so you will hear road traffic. Also they allow pets so you will hear them also!

The staff. Annie checked us in, very professional. When we had trouble with bedside lamps, she came right up to get to the answer. She actually was on the floor, next to the bed and under a table to find the loose plug and restore the light. She is amazing! Everyone else was wonderful too, but Annie deserves a special shout-out. What’s not to like about popcorn and lemonade during the day, excellent coffee and donuts for breakfast! And it’s pet friendly!! Great beds and clean, clean, clean.
On a busy, very noisy road.
Pet relief facilities inadequate. crossing busy road to find real grass (the artificial turf feels too much like a rug, sand would be better) is challenging.
However, the proximity to the Historic District makes up for it!

cute, newly renovated 1950’s style drive-up motel.
the shower curtain in the shower was pretty thin. this allowed for a significant amount of water to get on the floor while I showered.

We loved our stay. Loved the retro features and the breakfast donuts were delish.
We were able to walk to any restaurants and historic locations. The hop on hop off tour bus was just a short walk across the street.
An added bonus was the 24 hr staffed lobby. We arrived very early and was able to leave our luggage at the front desk while we walked to breakfast and do some site seeing. We checked out at about 2:00am to catch our train and waiting in the staffed lobby while awaiting out taxi was also very much appreciated.

fun and funky
heat not effective, bathroom fan on a timer that kept it going and noisy for a long time, rusty wall panels, fossilized creamer for the in room coffee

cute concept and friendly staff, location just on the edge of town.
great for the price
rooms could’ve had very slight touch ups, some furniture was a bit worn and blinds needed dusting
