The history. The movie theater. The neighborhood. The proximity to places I wanted to go.
Not really luxurious bedding or amenities as I would expect from the decor and price.

My breakfast was good. The building is beautiful and the staff I encountered was top notch. The area has a bunch of eating/drinking options and ways to entertain yourself without getting in the car. Nice grocery store across the street for treats for your room or a day in the park. Beautiful Forest Park and all that has to offer just across the street.
Toilet is a little close to the shower and TP. Took a while for the water to warm up in the shower, which after the first not checking before jumping in isn't a problem and funny random gurgling noises occasionally from the bathroom area. But none of this is a big issue as I understand this is a beautiful historic type building.
Friend had the breakfast buffet and it was underwhelming for the price and just in general. Service was slow considering it wasn't busy.

So many good restaurants within walking distance. Easy to visit cultural attractions from this hotel. For a summer vacation, the pool is very nice and food is available.
Sadly, one of the elevators was out all four days we were there. The staff was nice but when the computers went down at check-in the lines got long and sluggish.

We loved the pool!
Some areas ( like the bathrooms public and the one in our room need some updating and deep cleaning.)

This is usually one of my favorite hotels but the major issue holding it back is the staff. And to clarify, the lack of staff. This hotel is not staffed properly. Just not enough help for the amount of people staying there. The result is long lines at the reception and a normally empty concierge. Yes the pool is fabulous and it's cool to have a movie theatre. Rooms are adequate, although bathrooms are dated. We have stayed here many times but will probably look elsewhere the next time we have a baseball weekend. Just not what it used to be.

I love this hotel. The valet is wonderful and when you walk into the lobby you are transported to the ambiance of this property. We love the pool, the dining, and the rooms.

The room and amenities were excellent. The location was so convenient to all we had planned to do. There were delicious restaurants in easy walking distance. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant we ate at (Chase Club). It was super convenient and fun to enjoy a theater movie inside the hotel!
The elevators malfunctioned several times while we were there.

Beautiful room

Great location and beautiful, historic hotel.
We had a king suite and while it was large and the furnishings in great condition, it just seemed like something was lacking. Almost no decorating, just seemed empty and very plain.

Was clean great location friendly staff.
A little to clean surprises to say I believe some kind of carpet powder was used when vacuuming the room that left a powerful scent that made my wife sick.
