The biggest plus is the location
We had looked forward to having a kitchenette to at least make a few sandwiches. However there were absolutely no utensils. Not even a cup or glass. We did not realize we would have to furnish our own. We realized there would be steps just not three flights.

everything was EXCELLENT!

Loved how it was located in downtown and the staff was great
It was clean for the most part although there’s some obvious repairs that need to be done and some things were not 100 percent clean.
3.0
The location downtown. The sweet Bulgarian girl at the desk. The price was.bettet than most other hotels if you are willing to put up with very small quarters stuffed with too much furniture, a broken shower that took two hands to use, some noise on weekend nights and scary small steps on the stairs. No ghosts however.
See above. The doors were being fixed but at this time you had to use back stairs with a long and confusing direction of how to get there plus the things above that were compensated for in the price :)

Unique property. The first room we checked into was not the room we had booked, however they fixed that issue the next day for us and discounted the room. It was very quiet and no one bothered us (we love that)
We also saw a bear right outside of the back of the hotel- we thought that was pretty cool but beware.

Was given the wrong room, much smaller and no refrigerator. I paid for a kitchenette. No parking that didn't require hauling luggage down the side of a mountain in pouring rain down a sketchy stairway the equivalent of a city block. Karaoke underneath us til 1am. VERY loud locals cussing, yellying and/or fighting outside all night long. Smells like weed all day and night.

It was fun
Wouldn't have changed it

The location and studio. Having our own bathroom and privacy. The stairs, but that came with the historical hotel 😊
Room service. The room phone did not work, at all.

location was great!
parking was on street, so you just had to get lucky. walls are paper thin, but things quieted down at an appropriate time, so nothing terrible; other than every person that walked by was heard.

Location was excellent
My toilet was leaking on the floor and flushed on its own all night; I finally turned off the water to toilet so I could sleep. I though the room looked clean until I checked under the bed before I left to make sure I did not leave anything and I found a tennis shoe, a pair of shorts and underwear.

The location was great. The shopping was too.
The place was old and it smelled like it. The walls were paper thin and you heard every cough and conversation in the hall outside your room and in the rooms next to you. Every time someone flushed the toilet or used the shower, the pipes clanked. It woke me up many times.

location was very central
noise was a problem late at night.. people laughing and talking loudly at 12-2 in the morning

great location. In center of downtown.
door lock was tricky to use

Not one dish or flatware in kitchenette. Not enough light in room. Desk not staffed most of day and night. Bar noise came through floor and walls.

Didn’t have ine
A heads up that their was a band playing, luckily I love heavy metal and went to the show

This place was awesome! My husband & I love staying at historical places & this was awesome. It’s old & has an old timer feeling but it’s supposed to & that’s what we loved about it. It’s basically walking distance to everything unless you are trying to get to Mendenhall Glacier— you’ll have to take Lyft or taxi but otherwise we walked everywhere we went!
Honestly the only complaint is that they didn’t restock the toilet paper as needed & they don’t supply any conditioner.

Great staff. Comfy Beds.

The lady was bartending and hotel front desk manager and told me she was busy with the bar
If she just assisted me and checked me into the room I'd be just fine

Its uniqueness.
Took you back to the "gold rush" time. There was nothing but a clean comfortable bed and the needed furnitures (antique, solid oak). No TV, refrig, bathroom (shared),...
You need to be the right type of people to enjoy to appreciate it, including the old fashioned bar downstairs.
Nothing. I even loved the fallen door knob.

good location, cozy and comfortable room
Requested in advance a quiet room. Received reply of "yes"! Room was right above the bar with rap music coming up loud and clear till midnight. The owner made all sorts of excuses and essentially told us to "suck it up". My issue is with the owner's lack of integrity and transparency. IF there are no quiet rooms, just say so, IN ADVANCE!

No elevator. No front door access.

location and friendliness of staff - cost was very reasonable
It is an old venerable hotel with shared bathroom facilities. Largely that was Ok but they have a very active bar scene which makes noise in the halls etc.
I was happy and would go back again but it has a lot of atmosphere and local color.

I had problems with check-in and check-out, stuff was not very friendly and helpful. I didn't feel safe when girl from bar told me that if I need to leave hotel in early morning because of my taxi, I should use an emergency exit ending in privat yard and steep stairway in the dark street. :-/ Fortunately, another girl from bar assured me later that main door will be one-way open for exit. This hotel has very good location, but I was very dissapointed in some people from stuff and in safety.
