We like the location. It’s eco-friendly, and we like having the Pickled Fish restaurant on location. Their food is top notch, although it’s a little spendy.
The light bulbs they use are too bright, especially when none of the lights in the room have any fixtures or shades to lessen the harsh bright lights. Also, the pool heater was out when we were there (pool is one of the reasons why we love the Adrift.).

New rooms, friendly staff, and right on the beach!
Everything was awesome!

I like that the location is right on the beach and they had beverages and coffee, etc. in the lobby
I booked an East King for my anniversary, there was a dog barking, a lot, two nights in a row. There were drug addicts right outside, having sex in the backseat of a car and doing drugs. I know this because you could see the car shaking, and you can see them get out of the car pulling up the clothes With glass pipe and a needle in her hand. I did go to the lobby and let the management know about it though and they did tell me that they had issues with them before, so why are they still there. At that point I kind of did not feel safe, especially for the amount of money I’m paying to have a enjoyable weekend for my anniversary. That was kind of shattered. Also, on top of that no microwave in the room, no telephone in the room either. I get up in the middle of the night sometimes and I want to heat up something to eat or if I need to call down to the lobby, you can’t do that because you have to get up and put clothes on to walk halfway down the hall just to get to the microwave and a telephone. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that did not have a phone or a microwave in the room. I thought there was very inconvenient.

The adult swim
No coffee pots in rooms, never been to a place that they didn't have one in the room, then we asked and a nice gentleman got one for us a French press, after I received my itemized bill I was charged for it,I fuguered spending $260 for 1 night you would get a coffee pot, so will not be returning, I did call and tt a young gal she said yes I got charged since I didn't get the deluxe room

Room, amenities, beach access, customer service, cleanliness
I wish there had been an air conditioner. The room was pretty stuffy. The fan was ok, but we had ti leave the window open all night and it still didn’t get comfortable until early morning.

Near the beach
High pet fee. $30 for a room that doesn’t have carpets is unreasonable.

The lodging was great and the location couldn't have been better. The restaurant upstairs had great meals and the service was great. This location with a pet (German Shepherd) was great.
Maybe a couple extra towels or maybe a little larger ones.

The view and location
We have stayed here for many years religiously, but it seems to have changed so much recently and we just don't feel welcome anymore. The restaurant menu has changed food and service is horrible as well.

Location is great
The atmosphere of Adrift has changed, starting with staff service at checkin. Staff were impersonal and unengaging. We booked for two nights and left after one night due to an uncomfortable hard, lumpy mattress. We've stayed at Adrft multiple times since opening and refer friends often. We will not stay again and will not refer any longer.

The location is perfect: step onto the beach; hit the Discovery Trail with the bikes provided; walk into town. The hotel is clean and comfortable (I love the floors, no carpet!). The warm pool was perfect for me and my two kids while on February break. The sauna's an added bonus. The beds were comfy and the little counter in the room was appreciated. I love the rainbow flags and inclusiveness signage all around the property. The lobby is cozy with games, couches, and a fireplace.
I think something is wrong with the third floor east building hallway/doors. The howling wind was so loud that earplugs were useless. When we opened the door, the howling went away. Maybe an architectural/structural issue? We pushed a blanket across the bottom which helped a bit. It was a windy time, but strange that the noise was completely gone when we opened the door. I'm sure this wouldn't be the case all year-round, but worth looking into for the hotel management. A couple of the staff at the front desk chatted openly about their disdain for guests, particularly children; they complained about a particular patron who had asked about not receiving something as part of a package: "I thought she wouldn't notice. Sure enough, she did. I told her we were out of it" (snicker). It was pretty off-putting and seems to conflict with what the signs all around were advertising (acceptance? inclusiveness? respect?).
The Pickled Fish restaurant menu lists several things as gluten free, but that's not strictly the case. They do not have a dedicated fryer, which was disappointing. I should have called ahead! (Celiac folks, be warned). The server, Tammy, was wonderful and had the foresight to warn us. Restaurant view was amazing and the other items we had were great.

The location, the staff, coffee, and room were fantastic. It was a great price and we had an ocean view! I loved hearing the waves at night, it reminded me of staying on Kauai at my gma's house
Normally, I love the pizza but this time it was missing two ingredients. The garlic confit and the onions. Also, the curtains did not close all the way.

There’s a writing prompt for this question that asks “how was breakfast”…was there breakfast? If so, it wasn’t offered to us, so that’s surprising…not in a good way.
We loved the scavenger hunt, the coffee/tea station, free tasting next door, the board games around the fire place, the mattress topper was very comfortable, the toiletries offered were very nice and the room was decorated in a really cute way.
The pillows were too big and pretty lumpy, it would’ve been nice if the room could’ve been aired out before we checked in (it was smelly) and if the heat had been on at least a bit (it was very cold).

Pool and spa area was excellent. clean, fun warm good mix of outdoor ocean air and warm calm of the pool and spa. walking distance to everything including, beach, boardwalk, town, movie theater, bike/walking trail and restaurants.
coffee/drink and gathering stations. free bikes with wonderful bike path running parallel to the ocean.
off season cost. friendly staff
Room functionality was a bit clunky for me. no signs on spa that led you through operation of it.

Loved the modern room with a partial view of the ocean and the pool was nice. Wish we could’ve tried the restaurant. Check in and out was very efficient.
I wish there was an additional lock on the door like most hotels (such as a chain at the top). My toddler could easily open door because it unlocked as the handle was pulled down. People complained multiple times about excess noise from us but we were just trying to get our young kids settled and it was barely 8pm. Most places have a quiet hours after 10pm.

Location was wonderful. The acceptance of dogs was appreciated. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Did not care for the decor. Plastic chairs. Couldn't unpack your suitcase. No dresser and only two hangers.

Nice set up for families, comfy bed, nice view,
My issue is with booking, I was shown a rate of 100 less than the final payment after a bunch of errors, nothing about staying underneath a bar for 2 nights was relaxing, nor be with $800 ever.
The coffee French press was annoying, lady thing I want to do is make coffee in a cluttered small space then clean it everyday, would have rather has a coffee pot.
Being below the restaurant wasn't terrible, if id have paid better attention, I would have not chosen it though.

It would be nice to have a coffee pot in all the rooms and a microwave. The lobby was out of cocoa for 2 days. There is stores in Long Beach was wondering how come they didn't go buy some.

Lovely Location, great view from the room (booked an ocean view suite), easy beach access. The Picked Fish restaurant is excellent! Hotel staff is friendly, though not especially helpful with some of the problems we experienced (see below).
Our first trip here, we had a room in the building further from the ocean and had an excellent experience (would rate that visit an 8 or better). The ocean view room we booked this trip was right underneath the restaurant and the music and restaurant noise were VERY disruptive. We basically had a free concert from 7 to 9 p.m. every night and restaurant noise from above (feet stomping, people talking, chairs moving) went on until after 11 p.m. Also, this building had indoor corridors and other hotel guests were very noisy in the hallways at all hours. Would STRONGLY recommend paying less, sacrificing the ocean view, and staying in the building furthest from the beach, detached from the restaurant.
