Unfortunately not a B&B as expected

It was close to the airport - as expected and wanted. I was surprised that the constant noise throughout the night from the airport was pretty much blocked by the very well insulated windows (double - double glazed). From my point of view everything was definitely clean. I can't say much about the location as we did not stay for long, but in the morning we saw a beautiful neighborhood with astonishing houses around, close to the sea. So, definitely a nice place to go for a walk if you do not mind the busy airport nearby, which is also interesting to watch, I guess.

This is no B&B as you would expect it to be after having travelled Europe. In the end it seems to be a family house in the first place with three or maybe four rooms scattered in-between private rooms. This needs to be separated as you do not feel welcomed and rather uncomfortable with all the "private" signs around you, especially when you have to walk the hallway to get to the bathroom. Due to our flight schedule we did arrive late shortly before 10 pm (as announced) and any B&B owner in UK or Germany would have still welcomed you at that time. Assuming that the owners are living in the private rooms, they definitely must have heard us coming in and it wouldn't have killed them to stick their head out for a quick hello. An added bonus was some squeaky noise from one of the private rooms and directly next to our headboard, that started at midnight and woke us up, going on for 20 minutes or so and again after 4 am. So we left very early without breakfast and did not see anybody. On a sidenote - my wife and I felt very uncomfortable being filmed on our walk to the bathroom by an automated camera in the hallway - is that even legal under these circumstances?

For a restful stay after or before a long haul flight or for a longer stay to explore Boston, with a car or using Uber,

The house is near to Logan airport, a short drive after a long flight. The room is soundproof so you can’t hear the aircraft. It’s almost on the water so the sea is lovely to walk to. Its decor is quirky, it is welcoming and homely. The in-room air conditioning worked very well.Breakfast was excellent with very good coffee and our host was very attentive and friendly. The procedure for arrival was efficient and easy to follow as was the allocated private parking.

The private bathroom is not en-suite but across the landing, but we knew that when we booked and it’s not really a problem.

I expected a lot more. in the room aside there was a mess for two hours at night. bad breakfast. the owner made us feel uncomfortable. rather dirty. pity, the village is fantastic. I asked to have breakfast before 8.30 but nothing.

Overall this was a great place to spend the night before catching a flight.

The room and bathroom were clean. Great information was provided about the property and the area. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint and the local dining options were fantastic. The convenience to the airport was fantastic and the price much more reasonable than airport hotels.

The bed was a little uncomfortable. The mattress itself wasn’t terrible but the frame creaked and the headboard banged against the wall every time my husband or I shifted positions which woke us up repeatedly.

The location was sweet but close to one of the runways at Logan Airport. Breakfast was standard but the dining room was stunning. Our host was very nice.

Quiet neighborhood except for hearing the plans from the airport take off.

Very attentive owner. Greeted us at breakfast. Made us scrambled eggs with ham and kielbasa, bagels, juice, yogurts and coffee and tea. Excellent location to Logan airport. plenty of parking spaces.

I would definitely stay at Chateau Sur Mer again if I were in the Boston area.

This is a lovely old house in a very attractive neighborhood. It has great views of the water, the airport, and the city. The breakfast was excellent!

It didn't bother me at all, but potential guests need to be aware of the noise of planes from Boston Logan. Also, if I were going to be there longer, I would rent a bike to get to the T station. It's close enough but a bike would save waiting for a bus or spending money on an Uber.

I would return if they had a room with 2 beds.

We couldn't have breakfast because we had to catch a flight at 7.15am. Location is terrific and the booklet of local information is impressive. Place especially the bathroom was spotless. I liked the old world decor!

lumpy bed, cracked tub, ‘deluxe’ double room is not much wider than the bed, queen ‘suite’ is a large bedroom, decor is outdated and tired looking, very basic breakfast, hosts nowhere to be seen.

close in vicinity to our family’s home. Morning Owner/Staff extremely pleasant. coffee was great, breakfast was very good. Bathroom towels were soft. Room was nicely decorated.

Difficulty communicating. I left a message on the day we were arriving and received an email response in return. The mattress Room 1 could use an upgrade.

The room was spacious and very clean. The host made sure we had everything we needed, including water in our room and extra towels as needed.

It was a bit too hot in the room for my liking, especially at night when trying to sleep. I am used to sleeping in a cold room, but I understand it is an older house, and may be difficult to control how cool it is.
