Heritage:
The Atholl Palace Hotel, a short walk away, is set on magnificent grounds and has a small but fascinating museum; Blair Castle provides an excellent day out.-the ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl houses a great display of arms and armour, as well as extensive collections of porcelain, paintings and period furniture.
Nearby Loch Faskally and Killiecrankie offer a wide variety of outdoor activities including walking, sailing, fishing, canoeing and a number of adventure sports.
Salmon Ladder: Pitlochry is famous for its hydroelectric dam and salmon ladder. The ladder was specially constructed to enable salmon to by-pass the dam and make their way upstream to Loch Faskally above. Approximately half a million visitors go to the dam and fish ladder every year, making it one of the top attractions in Scotland. The ladder is 310 metres long and consists of 34 chambers. It enables around 5,000 salmon to return to their spawning grounds each year - a journey of some 6,000 miles!
Whisky Galore: Enjoy a complimentary 'wee dram' when you book a tour with Edradour, a short walk from the house. Edradour is the smallest distillery in Scotland and is the last original 'farm' distillery in Perthshire.
Book a show at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, the ‘Theatre in the Hills’, founded in 1951. 'It’s a unique phenomenon, no other British theatre attempts this extraordinary turnover of plays'. Scotland On Sunday.
Follow in the footsteps of the Scottish Plant Hunters; try your hand at willow weaving or learn new skills by visiting the Explorers Garden, just across the river. The garden is open from April 1st to November 2nd.Opening hours are as follows: Everyday 10am to 5pm.Last entry to garden: 4.30pm.
Walk! Walk! Walk! There are over thirty way-marked walks in the local area-details in the house, complete with ordance survey maps or down the road at our excellent Tourist Centre. Remember to try the 'Pitlochry Historic Trail' -a short 2 mile walk back in time. Make sure you take in Queens View – the favourite viewpoint loved by Queen Victoria, who regularly visited highland Perthshire!

We stayed in Pitlochry and this cottage was prefect to walk or drive to so many places. Whether we wanted to see a play or eat out- everything was nearby.
The cottage is A++, clean, attractive, parking, with all appliances plus many we didn’t need. I highly recommend this cottage for folks who like to rest, relax, yet me in touch with events and places.

We so enjoyed our stay at this lovely, extremely well located, comfortable property! The kitchen was very well appointed and we very much appreciated the washer and dryer. It was a beautiful house in a small Scottish town. Pitlochery is stunning and a very walkable town. My wife and I were in town for my son's wedding and we loved our stay! The house was very comfortable and cozy. Patricia knew about the wedding and left a bottle of Champagne for us!!! Very Sweet! Thank you Patricia... we loved out visit!

A very nice and well appointed property making the stay very comfortable. All rooms were clean and tidy with plenty of accessories etc. The property was filled with many kitchen utensils etc there were many books. The cupboards and freezer contained foodstuffs and generally speaking it looked liked a home someone had just popped out to the shops. There wasnt an airer making drying any wet clothes hard, the parking was on street and could be difficult if not parked close by and the garden wasnt very practical to use as it was a hike, not easy to take a drink or a meal to.

We loved this home. Such care and attention were clearly given to the house. Our group of three had more than enough room. Sometimes we snuggled in - sometimes we explored the adorable town and numerous walking trails in the area. Highly recommend. Thank you!

The owner has indeed taken care of cleanliness and maintained the property very well. There is a welcome guide and notes all around. Removed a star as the mira electric shower has low pressure (The entire property has good pressure). I believe this is the problem with all electric showers. I hate taking shower for long and specially when you get cold water suddenly.

This lovely home away from home was the perfect place to ground myself in Scotland. It is centrally located, with easy walking access to shopping, groceries, transportation, and hiking trails. And pubs! My host is fabulous—can’t say enough nice things about her.

From the moment you walk in it’s clear this is someone’s home rather than a rented property.
The accommodation is stacked full of personal touches and the kitchen is the best stocked kitchen we have ever rented. The bed rooms are cosy, the bathroom immaculate and good facilities and the lounge is spacious and nicely appointed.
Whilst close to a small road, the accommodation is in a very quiet area with no road noise at all.
Our host Pat was very responsive and charming in helping us settle in.
An excellent place to stay and highly recommended. We will be back next year…

We stayed 3 nights in this cozy home. The kitchen is well-equipped. The living area had 3 sofas so plenty of room to relax and watch the Coronation. Parking is on the street but we had no trouble finding a spot.
