Stunning cave house with amazing views, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable rooms, and refreshing pool. Helpful hosts like Panos and Sarah go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Highly recommended for a tranquil and luxurious Santorini experience.

We had a lovely stay in the Cave house. It was amazing to stay in Santorini and be away from the crowded areas. We rented a car to get around the island which was a must. The car rental was delivered right to the property. The property is very well managed and the team that looks after it is very competent. Communication was excellent and all questions were immediately answered. The nearby tavern, Metaxi Mas is a fantastic restaurant and a very quick walk.

If you’re looking to stay in a cave house, this one is great. Our family of 5 stayed comfortably.

We enjoyed our stay. Disappointed that there was no where to go for coffee, a drink, or to just hang out. The wonderful resturant, Metaxi Mas, was definitely a God-send.

We absolutely loved the cave house. So unique. The upper deck and cool pool were the best part of the house!!! Petros, villa manager, went above and beyond for us. He was always just a call away and did whatever he could to help us. We all had the best nights sleep as it is so dark and quiet in and around the house.. remember, a cave has no windows!!! And really comfy beds!! All in all, we highly recommend the cave house.

Our stay in the cave house was like a sanctuary in the middle of Santorini! No crowds in this little village. Getting up the steep oath to the house & pool is no mean feat but worth it. The cavern house is beautifully kept and has everything you need. A car is definitely needed nut it is not far from anywhere including Kamari beach, Fira and lovely Purgos & Megalochori villages.

We deeply appreciated the character of the updated cave house, as well as the location in a village less overwhelmed by tourists despite the proximity to Metaxi Mas and Anemoloos (both taverns worth eating at). It’s recommended to have a vehicle here. Sarah was kind, clear, and always available by message. Petros was an excellent member of the on-site team, ready and willing to share tips, solve potential problems at the property (though none arose), and help make bookings for transfers or activities/excursions. The property is a short drive to Kamari for a quick swim or brunch at The Finch, Omoos for excellent morning coffee, and Santo Wines for a wine tasting with views that overshadow the iconic Oia Instagram influencer shots. Be sure to enjoy the local and authentic taverna food on the island. Perivolos and Perissa beaches are a 15 minute drive and offer the better beach experiences on the island.

If you are looking for a cave house for your stay in Santorini then you will not go wrong with this property. The location is in a quiet village, and you do need a car to get around, but there are two restaurants within walking distance, including the highly rated and very popular Metaxi Mas. The pool terrace is beautiful, and sunrise is worth getting up early for. The property manager, Petros, was awesome, very helpful and responsive. It should be noted that the cave house is a 5 minute uphill walk from the parking, which may not suit everyone.

An amazing, clean and beautiful place to stay in Exo Gonia.
It really is an unusual place and so tastefully decorated. What made the stay was the care and attention Petros, our property manager gave to us. He was there when we arrived, offering support and ideas, he popped in to answer queries but was always at the end of a text message, whenever we wanted advice on a place to visit or a query about the property.
He even went out of his way to help us get our car back to the airport. He organised transfers to the port and he let us stay in the adjoining property when we had to check out and it was raining.
An amazing property but the personal service of Petros really added to our holiday experience, thank you Petros.

Out of this world. Absolutely brilliant accommodation… very clean, gorgeous terrace with lap pool, view on the terrace beautiful and as for Pedro (the property manager) what can I say. Nothing was a bother, answered any queries straight away, went out of his way to do anything for us, was a complete gentleman, we just wanted to wrap him up and take him home with us. Now that’s what managers are all about. Could not have got any better. Beautiful people, beautiful island, magnificent holiday. We were spoilt by Pedros! Thank you young man. ❤️

It has been a beaut stay with very nice hosts- a pool with a magnificent view- and we liked the more quite side

We very much enjoyed our stay at this historic, yet modern, cave house (3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms; small but nice front/dining room, and good sized kitchen). The only negative is that there is no immediate parking (walking distance is about 100 m), and there is a small incline with steps to reach the house; finally, the steps down to the house yard are steep and a little narrow. Thus bringing bags and groceries can be a challenge if you are elderly; in short, this is not a house for the less mobile elderly or otherwise infirm. The only other small issue is that like all of Greece, you have to put your used toilet paper in a small bin, and NOT in the toilet.
Otherwise we very much enjoyed our stay. Sarah is an awesome host and met us on our arrival to show us the way to the house, and things to do re locking up, etc. The pool is also great. In short, this is a 5-star unique house, especially if you are reasonably fit and can handle the walk up to the house from the car park.

We had a perfect stay at this property! The property manager Sarah could not of have been more helpful. She helped us with a car rental, booked a sunset cruise, arranged a transfer to the port and recommended many great restaurants. The property itself is a short walk from the parking at the church in a truly authentic Greek neighborhood. This means it is so quiet! We were grateful that the fully stocked kitchen came with some meat, cheese, bread, beer and wine. We wanted to go straight to the pool deck ontop of the house and enjoy those views! The house is very thoughtfully decorated with room for us (five adults) to spread out. While we were there we ate the famous Metaxi Mas which was a five minute walk away. Make sure to make reservations well in advance! We also had a short walk to the restaurant Anemolos. The beautiful village of Pyrgos is nearby. It was a three minute drive or a 15 minute walk. If you walk the back trails wear proper walking shoes because some areas have loose gravel. We loved the restaurant Rosemary in Pyrgos that had excellent food and great sunset views.
It was a sad day when we had to depart the cave house but enjoyed a wonderful sunrise on the deck before we left. Thanks Sarah for all your help in giving us a perfect vacation!

Beautiful Cave House
We had a very nice stay at Sarah’s place in Exo Gonia. The place is spotless and provided all the amenities you need. Sarah met us at the bottom of a small hill that leads to the property. She also helped us with bags. The view from the pool area is amazing and the pool refreshing. The layout of the house suited our group of 4 just fine. The main room is much bigger than it looks in the photo. Aircon and wireless worked great plus the shower and water pressure was excellent. The house has these wonderful little touches, you can tell someone put alot of care into the remodel. There’s a washing machine and clothes dry quickly on the rack outside. The beds are comfortable and linens cosy. The house is walkable to two local tavernas. Both we enjoyed. A little further on you’ll find the Santorini Brewery, market, pharmacy etc. We did rent a car which was delivered to the church down the road. Sarah was also helpful to book rides if we were returning late or wine was going to be involved. Exo Gonia is a lovely hamlet, its quiet, peaceful…no vibrating music blasting until 4am, no one throwing up at the curb, no litter, no traffic. We did a couple winery visits, a food tour, and took a boat ride. All easy to book online or with Sarah’s advisement. Overall a perfect stay for us. Highly recommended. Thanks Sarah!

Beautiful setting
We came over for my brothers wedding and he was staying in another one of Sarah’s villas.
From start to finish sarah helped us out with car hire, recommended many places to visit and eat.
The view from this property looking out to sea from the pool was amazing.
But especially at night overlooking all the villages below was stunning.
Sarah was the perfect host always available as she lived near.
Highly recommend the stay not only for the views but for the fact sarah was there for us whenever we needed assistance.
Many thanks
Jane and family.

Lovely peaceful property!
This house is stunning, with great views and a beautiful rooftop pool. It was extremely clean and easy to get to from the airport. Sarah was extremely responsive and helpful, even recommending a few great restaurants in the area. The only flag I have (which is definitely standard in Santorini, but I didn't realize) is that you can't drive up to the house so there's a short uphill walk from the road.

Beautiful cave house with stunning view, nice and cool even in July. A shame that that the terrace and pool need to be accesed via the footpath and therefore didn't get as much use as it should have. Also, a small tabel up there would be nice, so one could have pre dinner drinks.
Would come back another time, but I guess Corona Santorini was more to our linking than a normal July would be, since it was really nice and quiet. Many thanks Sara, for the good service.

Quaint little villa
We were 3 couples staying at the villa for one week.
The cave house is very nice, but smaller than we expected. The pictures make it look larger than it is, but we were ok with it - as it is so charming.
The bedrooms vary in size (small, medium, large). 2 have an adjoining on-suite bathroom. The other bathroom has a very low doorway (in which many heads got banged on the way in).
The front courtyard is lovely with lots of flowers and is wonderful to sit there in the evening with candles and wine!
We didn't realize that the pool was not connected to the house (but a few steps up the road). The pool was also smaller than we thought from the photos but we also enjoyed the area. Suggestion would be to have a coffee table placed next to the benches, so you could enjoy food/drinks there too.
The kitchen is well stocked and everything worked wonderfully. We were very pleasantly surprised that we had a welcome package of fruits, meats, water etc. Such a thoughtful touch. We were able to do some laundry while we were there, which was super helpful.
You definitely need a car here, as there is really nothing within walking distance except for the restaurant Metaxi Mas (which was our favourite - GO - the food and service are AMAZING).
Mark was really super helpful with going over all the details of the property, giving us tips on places to go and restaurants to eat at. He also helped us arrange cars. It was fantastic to have that kind of help at our fingertips. We all definitely enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to friends or family travelling to Santorini that don't want the hustle/bustle of Oia.

Holiday with friends
The villa is beautiful and the owner Sarah and manager Mark could not have been more helpful. However the location of the villa is remote and the only viable transport is via car rental.

Weeks Stay July 2019
We choose this cavern house not only because because it was close to the venue our daughter was getting married in but because it was a cavern house.
Everything was just about perfect. Both Sarah and Mark (the local property manager) could not have any more helpful. The welcome pack was most welcome as we arrived quite late on the day of arrival and a cold can if Mythos went down very well.
There are two great restaurants very close by Metaxi Mas and Anemoloos. We used both twice. The first is a little bit more special and is ideal for an evening meal after a day’s sunbathing whilst the second has a fantastic meze menu which makes for a great long lunch.
Although it only takes about 25 minutes to walk to Kamari car hire is almost an essential e.g. for shopping and visiting the rest of the island. This doesn’t take anything away from the property location as it was a quieter location we were seeking.
All things considered you will have to go a long way to beat this beautiful cavern house.
Thanks Sarah and Mark

Picture perfect
Our family have just returned from this picture perfect cave house . It’s quirky furnishings and ingenious use of space makes it stand out from the rest. The house is extremely comfortable and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. This is our second visit to Anthea and it won’t be our last. The proximity to a fabulous restaurant only adds to its appeal . It is super cool in the heat of the day and spotless throughout. A total gem.

Beautiful Island
The Villa is Apsolutely Stunning, Slight Slope but manageable, everything you need and require is inside, rooms are beautiful, the pool is a slight walk away but is more than big enough for everyone and is a great place to sunbathe .The best place to visit is The Capital Thira Loads Of shops, pubs and restaurants and also Perissa down on the beach front is Beautiful, plenty of restaurants, and shops to go in and visit . There is Plenty of places that rent cars but what you see a lot of is Quad bikes for 2 they look Awesome 👏
Sarah the owner arranged our 7 Seater car for us, nothing is too much trouble for her just ask and she is very happy to help you. Mark the villa manager is the same he is more than happy to book escurtions for you , he knows the best deals and is very helpful in more ways than one , lovely informative man.
Thankyou Sarah & Mark For a Lovely Stay, would Definitely recommend this place and Villa as it’s stunning Views from the Villa you cannot miss.

We had an amazing week and would highly recommend this villa! The villa was clean, well equipped and had a great welcome pack, which included Ham, Cheese, Beer, Water etc.
The Villa is in a great location, you will definitely need a car if you want to explore the island.
Would definitely stay here again if we returned to Santorini!

Beyond the expectations
We are a family of six and had been dreaming about this travel for a long time, but the outcome definitely exceeded our expectations.
The house is a traditional one: stunningly nice and comfortable and very spacious as well. Every room is equipped with A/C, which is sometimes life-saving as it tends to get humid at night.
The housekeeper is super kind and helped us plan our activities for the whole week, always being at disposal for any need we might have had (plus he brings in fresh and tasty bread daily).
The view from the balcony is beautiful and at sunset you basically get to see a postcard right before your eyes while chilling on the hammock or on the sofas.
The property's position is strategic as it's located right in the middle of the island and every interesting spot can be easily reached by car, though you can even walk to the tourist centre through hiking paths that start 0.5 miles away from the villa (that will keep you in shape).
The description perfectly matches with the equipment as nothing misses and the Wi-Fi works well around the house (except for the balcony).
The pool has the perfect size for relaxing with a drink, but won't suit you if you are looking for one to actually swim inside.
Also the owner is very helpful, providing the info you may need and answering all the questions you pose.
All told, this is an absolutely recommendable and beautiful property and hopefully we will be soon back at it.

5 Star property
Absolutely wonderful. The property is spacious and very comfortable. We were 2 couples for a week.Plenty of amenities: BBQ in a gorgeous courtyard, AC in the bedrooms, full kitchen, washer No dryer but they dry outside in 10 minutes.Centrally located so close to supermarkets, beaches. Nearby restaurant is excellent (we ate there twice). Pool area is great for lounging particularly at night gazing at a sky full of stars. Property Manager Panos took great care of us bringing fresh bread to us every morning. Overall a 5 star property and would only stay here when we return to beautiful Santorini.
Tips : rent a car to get around it’s easier and cheaper than taxis. Buy lots of bottled water. Visit Oia for the insane sunsets but be prepared for the crowds. Eat everything it was all great.

Amazing Villa with Breathtaking Views
It was my brothers Wedding week in Santorini and Myself and 5 family and friends shared this villa for 7 nights on June 9th. A driver picked us up from the airport in a minibus and took us to the villa, Panos was there waiting to welcome us in. He gave us a chat about things to do on the island etc. The villa is simply amazing and is a perfect layout, all the 3 bedrooms are a nice distant away from eachother too which is better for couples sharing. The kitchen is fully equipped for those nights you decide to eat in. The pool area is just up a slight hill (on top of the villa basically) but it is worth the 20 second climb each and every time, the views from up there are absolutely unreal, you’ll find most of your mornings and late afternoons spent relaxing up there for sure! All in all it was an incredible week, Santorini is one of the nicest places I’ve ever been to, it’s definitely worth renting a car to get around the island, we got cars in Kamari for about 25 euros a day!

Wow what a beautiful Island. It is just how it looks in the pictures.
Our family occupied both property's & wasn't disappointed. The view is stunning and our host couldn't do more for us.
Once you are familiar with the area everything is easy to get to.
Our Cavern house was clean & well equipped with a lovely welcome pack , Tea , coffee , water , fresh bread every day aswel as ham cheese jam butter, milk & fresh fruit !
We came as a family for a Wedding which was stunning!
Would definitely go back to The Anthea House again.

Fantastic!!
We had such a fabulous holiday, a huge thank you to Panos for taking great care of us, he really does go above and beyond and nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend this property, spacious and comfortable, just be aware the swimming pool/ deck area is separate to the main house, great if you have children as they can’t go up by themselves and fantastic views from the pool area. Exo Gonia is a small village & the local restaurant has excellent food, would definitely recommend a car to explore Santorini as taxis/ transfers can be pricey but this is a great location to position yourself to explore the island. Thanks again, would love to come back one day!

Great location, house & service
We stayed in this cave house March 2018. It was clean, tidy and the right suze for 6 people. The location was great - not far from the main tourist sites, but feels fairly local. The house Has a well equity kitchen and is cool at night (cave house so few windows). The host greeted us every morning and was extremely helpful. Great value for money. Note a hire car (or ATV) is a must.

Wow, what a beautiful house
We had a lovely stay at Anthea. The house is beautifully equipped and well located, although do prepare yourself for a post Taverna /Restaurant steep uphill slog! The three walkable restaurants are great, but a car is really recommended to fully enjoy this lovely island. Panos, who looks after the house, is quite amazing - nothing is too much trouble and he is full of local knowledge - closer to a full concierge than a house manager. Every holiday home needs a Panos!

Fabulous cave villa in great location
Great villa with fantastic facilities and ideally positioned for both airport and easy access to all of the island. Beautiful cave villa and very comfortable. Suits families and couples.

Peaceful, quaint, a glimpse into genuine Santorini living.
A wonderful place to escape! It is hilly and to access the cave house and terrace you navigate uneven cobbles, however this is all part of the charm of this renovated cave house. A great base for exploring this small island (2 hours of hill driving and you would see the island) or enjoy a wonderful terrace with pool from which to gaze across vineyards, blue topped churches and mountains to the sea. The only noise came from birds and the occasional helicopter. A place to rest and relax, little touches like the daily delivery of fresh bread warmed in the morning sun were a lovely bonus. Fantastic local knowledge and service from Panos, the best baklava ever from the bakery next to the supermarket and reliable wifi kept our family very happy for the week. Thank you!

Absolutely phenomenal
A group of five grad school friends and I stayed in this absolutely beautiful home that was true to the photos, if not better. From the very beginning of our booking (months in advance), Sarah proved to be an excellent hostess, asking and answering all the right questions in the best way. She arranged for individual pick ups from the airport and provided excellent suggestions for the island. Panos, the villa manager, took it from there. His service was unparalleled to any I have ever received. From stocking the fridge and bringing fresh bread in the mornings to helping us arrange our daytime activities and making sure we got the best prices and didn't get ripped off or taken advantage of -- Panos proved to be our lifeline. He picked up and delivered our boat tickets, helped us get a very cheap but reliable (and new!) rental car, booked the nicest restaurants based on our criteria and then hooked us up with his friends there who gave us excellent attention and service. He was always easy to get a hold of, whether we were at the house or out and about and needed help. Charming and kind, knowledgeable and resourceful, Panos was a huge part of why we loved our stay. The house itself was clean, air-conditioned, and luxurious. The pool and rooftop were fantastic, but it was equally pleasurable to find refuge from the heat inside the house. We found it particularly helpful to have a washer in the unit for our post-beach trips. With a car, everything was very close and conveniently located. Would highly, highly recommend a stay here, and we are hoping to come back here one day!
