About this cottage rental
Ard na nOilean (height overlooking Islands) – No doubt you are looking for your dream holiday home. Then look no further - This house is situated in quite unique surroundings. The landward sides of the house are enclosed by rock-faces with the remainder open to the sea .A path from the garden leads directly to the strand. The perfect location for painters, writers, photographers or simply people who appreciate nature at its finest!. Despite the cottage's sheltered location Annagry village is for your evenings entertainment, nothing more than a short stroll away.
- I have recently completed the constuction of a Garden House featuring panaramic and breath taking views of Annagry village and Carrickfinn beach in the distance.
The interior remains closed for now as the decoration is unfinished.
The village is only a 8minute walk away and has three pubs and two restaurants. One of which is the renowned Killindarragh House “Danny Minnie´s”. Some of the regions most famous artists, such as Clannad, Enya and Altan began their careers playing in the traditional pubs, such as Leo's, which define the area.
The village has among other services a small supermarket.chemist, post office, hairdressers and two Take-aways
Activities: Golf, Cuirt Island, Gweedore, Falcarragh, Portnoo, Dunfanaghy - all courses within a radius of 50 km; Horse Riding; Fishing, deep sea, river and lake - info on permits available; Hill walking and climbing in the Poison Glen and Errigal; Walking on the countless miles of unspoiled beaches; Surfing and diving schools in the Dungloe area; Day trips to Tory and Gola Islands from Bunbeg Harbour. To simply spend a day driving around this area of Donegal is an experience, you will never forget.
Cycling has in recent years become very popular with the locals and the cycling paths are continually being improved. Some routes have absolutely stunning scenery and will challenge your fitness.
- Further information regarding sightseeing and day trips can be found in the cottage.

Enjoyed staying in Annagry, the house was very centrally located and easy to get around Donegal. Lots of lovely beaches nearby and you can watch the planes coming and going.
The house was very comfortable, had an issue with unwashed floors and dust when we arrived but a mop and duster sorted out both.
Would return to the area again, lots of places to eat, we had a very relaxing time away.

It was a wonderful place to stay, everything we needed for our stay was provided by Jim.

Absolutely brilliant. If you love the outdoor life this is heaven. Lovely comfortable home to come back to . I found my happy place 💕. Thanks to Jim for being a great host. Knowledgeable, there if you needed him . I really hope I have the fortune to return. Thanks a million

This place was amazing .. great view and quiet. Exactly what we were looking for. It was a short walk to the village and the locals were so nice. We felt very safe with our 8 yearold there. Beautiful drives to the wild Atlantic way, the national park and Derry. The property manager is very responsive and we fully enjoyed this stay to the point where I don’t want to ruin this town with a review.

House was lovely. So comfortable and well equipped. Really close to town and amazing beaches on the doorstep. We had a wonderful time

We stayed here for a week with our grown up family on the occasion of our daughter’s wedding. It was a great secluded location but a ten minute walk from the main town area. The bridal party got ready here on the morning of the wedding and with 3 bathrooms there was plenty of room for everyone. I would definitely recommend this house for a relaxing holiday.

Just back from a wonderful week here. House is really spacious for six adults and our dog. Beds are very comfy and great to have two en-suites and a large main bathroom. Kitchen has everything you need. Outside garden was great with famtastic views, truly in the heart of the wild Atlantic way, Nice walk down to the lovely village of Annagry where the locals are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Would highly recommend this house and it’s a great base to explore the stunning scenery in the area and beyond. Close to some of.the most amazing beaches if lucky enough to get the weather …. we will definitely return here next time we come to Donegal. Sharkey’s is great for a drink and the food at Caisleain Oir is so good but I’d advise to book as gets very busy. Look forward to our next visit.

Spacious property well equipped with everything needed for a great stay. Peaceful location with lovely views from garden. Host very helpful and friendly when we had difficulty finding property.

The house itself is extraordinary. It is spacious and well equipped and its situation is wonderful. A small path down the hillside to the shore is a real treat and provides a wonderful opportunity to watch the summer sunset. It is not a fussy house, so it is easy to keep it clean and tidy.
Annagry is a magical place. There are beaches nearby of soft clear sand, for sea bathing, castle building and kite flying, there are bars and a hotel and a coffee shop in the village itself, and there is access to the islands from the pier at Kincasslagh. There are guillemots, and cormorants, and in May there were cuckoos. As we watched the sunset from the tip of Cruit island, a seal broke the surface of the bay and gave us a good hard stare.
We climbed Errigal, we walked in Glenveagh and we went to see Finn Harps play in Balleybofey.
The house is well run and all our communication with the owner was easy, friendly and helpful.

Awesome host and house , we were looking for something out away from the big cities and we hit the Jack pot . We were fortunate to spend time with Jim and he could share history about Donegal county and it’s people , we had a blast with the locals of Annagary and surrounding communities , thanks to Jim and the Annagary community

We had the most relaxing stay at this property. Beaches are nearby and we spent everyday with our five year old and the dog exploring them, even a beach at the end of the grassy pathway at the bottom of the garden. The house is warm and welcoming. Plenty of room. We’ll be back!

It was a lovely property. Beautiful high ceilings. Comfy beds and big sitting/dining room. My friends loved it and would like to come back. Walking distance down to Annagry, so close to lovely restaurants and pubs. Nice and secluded too. Great choice.

After running around the island, spending a few days decompressing, sitting in front of a fire and eating salads was EXACTLY what we needed. Thank you for such a gorgeous place to enjoy the ocean and the peace.

The property was ideally located for us to explore Annagry and the surrounding area. The house was was well equipped, and Jim was always available to answer any queries. The views over the bay were stunning, especially at sunset. The main purpose of our visit was for my wife and her sister to rediscover their roots, their grandparents lived in and around Annagry. We also enjoyed the hospitality of Michael in
Starkey’s Bar and the food and music in Leo’s Tavern and the
wonderful food at Danny Minnie’s.

It was a fab holiday for nana, mam and dad, auntie and kids easy walk to village and lovely friendly restaurants and bars, the house was ideal, lovely and lwe loved the garden, wecouldnt find the path from garden to beach but lots of beautiful beaches so it didnt upset us.

Beautiful Annagry
Overall we had a great time in this property which suited our needs exactly. Proximity to the bay which is extremely shallow was ideal for paddle boarding especially for young kids - barely more than knee deep at high tide. We travelled a good deal in the general Three Parishes area, visited beautiful Glenveagh, walked many of the immaculate beaches in the area and tasted the exquisite cuisine offered by many of the local restaurants - Danny Minnie’s in Annagry was really good and The Old Glen Bar in Glen is an experience not to be missed. Would highly recommend this property

Short family trip
We stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the break. It was great to be able to bring our dog and have the secure garden for him. The house was really well equipped, plenty of towels and kitchen equipment. We used the BBQ both nights and lite the fire pit.
Would recommend the house and Jim and Catherine were great hosts.

A lovely, clean, private accommodation with more than enough room for four adults. The house was a great base for our exploration of Donegal. The path to the beach wasn’t quite as obvious as we had anticipated but the sunsets were lovely!!

Great house for exploring all of County Donegal. House was clean and the kitchen was stocked with all the utensils needed to cook meals. House was spacious, comfortable and quiet. In spite of good directions, the property was not easy for us to find. Catherine was very kind and helpful.

A great house. We booked very last minute and were very surprised that such a great house was available. The house really has everything you need for a very comfortable stay- Jim the owner has thought of everything. Catherine the host that met us was lovely & explained everything we needed to know about the house. The village is only a few minutes (8 minutes max) walk away with great pubs, cafes and restaurants. The beach is even nearer ( 3 minutes) with a little path down from the house - water shoes are a good idea as the gorse can be prickly & it’s boggy in places.
The only suggestions for making the place even better - sofa is probably on its last season, as is the garden table. They are both well loved & have been witness to many happy holidays :-)

A fabulous property in a wonderful location.
Six of us were delighted to be able to spend 4 nights here. We enjoyed the ocean view, short walks to the pubs and waters edge. The village of Annagry is lovely and a good base for exploring Donegal.
Thank you Jim & Catherine for offering such a nice place & for making everything go so smoothly.

Lovely break in County Donegal
Spent a lovely week at this accommodation with my husband and our 2 sons, aged 9 and 12. The area is beautiful and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Catherine was friendly and helpful, responding quickly to our messages. We would happily return in the future.

Great spot
What a beautiful spot to spend a few days in February.
The house is a great base to visit the surrounding area, and is itself a lovely place to be. There is ample room, it is exceptionally comfortable and quiet, and everything is very well laid out and maintained.
The area around the house is well kept and would make for a great evening's craic by the firepit in the summer no doubt.
There was quite a bit of weather when we visited, but that only accentuated the cosiness during the evening, and certainly wasn't a hindrance to enjoying a relaxing break.
Our host Catherine was great, very accommodating, friendly and has a wealth of knowledge of the area. Her Guinness bread is something as well!
All in all a great stay, and looking forward to hopefully getting back before too long!
