The location is great, within the historic center. Staff was very nice and helpful at all times. Breakfast was yummy. Rooms were very big and comfortable.

The room was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed, the staff went out of their way to accommodate all our needs, and maybe one of the biggest reasons to come stay at Casa Claver is the location, it simply is the ideal location, we stayed five days and never needed a taxi o any transportation, everything was at walking distance.
Can't think of anything that we disliked from our stay at Casa Claver

The location of the hotel is perfect - in the Old Town and close to all the key attractions. We had a room on the roof terrace which gave us near-exclusive use of the pool and lots of outdoor space.
We were initially given a room whose only window gave directly on the hotel lobby space. It would have meant a room without a window - for six days! Luckily we were changed to a great room. The breakfasts are pre-prepared - for no reason I can understand, so that the hot part of the meal is cold. Breakfast is not served with honey or jam (just peanut butter!) and the four choices are joyless. The common space is very limited and in the room there is no desk where I could work. No glasses are provided in the room (aside from two champagne flutes) and the water is available either in the mini-bar or purchased in town. This seems an unnecessary limitation for a hotel of this category.

Large room, nice breakfast, good location, friendly staff
There was remodeling literally next door to my room, which I wasn’t notified in advance. The noise, especially heavy hammering, would not stop, beginning at 8:00 AM every day, including the weekend. As a matter of fact, on Sunday, which was the last day of my stay, I had to go outside of the hotel myself at 10:30 at night to talk to the construction workers and tell them that I would call the Police, which was the only way to make the stop. I talked to the hotel staff several many times during my five day stay insisting that they change my room to the opposite side, but they kept saying that there were no rooms available. I told them that, being Cartagena such a tourist place, there should be laws limiting, at least, construction work on weekends, or at least at night, but nothing happened. I tried to cancel my stay, but they said that it would be up to Bookings, and that it was very likely that I would lose my money. I paid over $320 a night (roughly $1600 for my five day stay), yet I went home to catch up on my sleep. And, on the subject of noise, the windows on this over $300 a night hotel are not soundproof. My friends were staying at a NH hotel a block away, which cost them less than half and were completely isolated from the street sounds (Cartagena has a very famously loud street action). To summarize, the hotel is certainly not at fault for their neighbor’s remodeling but, being a relatively high-cost establishment, the least they must do is to notify in advance, so the prospective guests know what they are getting into. I left the hotel extremely disappointed and certainly would not recommend it. For the sake of future situations like mine, I hope the management reads this and takes the appropriate measures.

The rooftop terrace was nice. The pool was nice. Our room was huge. Nice balcony with vegetation. We had breakfast brought to our room every morning. Location was good.
The cleaning staff did not do a complete cleaning job. We only had one wine glass. There should always be two. I took the last kleenex on the first day and it was never replenished. The used towels in the bathroom were never gathered or even touched by the cleaning staff. The bathroom was nice. However the little ledge where the toilet was can be very dangerous. My husband almost smashed his face into the shower glass. Just saying.

I stayed in apartment 302. Huge room, separate living/sleeping/dining rooms, huge closet, great bathroom, high ceilings and a very nice balcony. There's a full kitchen that hides behind folding doors a full-size washer and dryer. It's like staying in a small condo building that's fully service (attended lobby/concierge and housekeeping). The building has been thoughtfully modernized with very nice to luxurious finishes throughout. GREAT location that's a half block in from the busier streets.
They did provide a full breakfast but there isn't 24 hour room service.

The location of Casa Claver was fantastic and the staff was lovely. Room was large and the rooftop pool was relaxing. The breakfast can be delivered to your room and there are many options to choose from. The location felt safe and I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cartagena.

The room is as shown in the photos. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. They spoke pretty good English for the most part. The location was perfect within a short walk of plenty of restaurants, bars, etc.
We couldn't get the wifi to work.

Beautiful property and room in a great location. Very large suites with washer/dryer and kitchen facilities in the room. Friendly, helpful staff. The upstairs pool is absolutely gorgeous - that alone made the hotel worth it.
There was an issue with the water while we were there and on 4 different occasions we lost water to the room - once after my husband was all soaped up in the shower.
Also for the price of the room they shouldn’t have charged extra for water and coffee in the room. We stayed at a cheaper hotel within the city center that provided free water daily.

The breakfast (included) was excellent, fresh and plentiful. Location was great. Friendly staff, impeccable facilities. My kids enjoyed the roof top pool, small but no one was there. There is a whirlpool/pool on the first floor which looked amazing, open until 12 pm!. The called taxis for us, gave us directions and recommendations.
We booked one of the lofts which was huge and had a washer and a dryer which was wonderful. Great beds and linens, spotless modern bathrooms, people happy to help you. Very recommended.
I have stayed in other high priced hotels near by, which typically have long check-in procedures by overwhelmed and cranky or snobbish staff, but not here!! I really liked the personal attention of Casa Claver and the friendliness of its Staff. They made everything so easy for us. Thank you Ben and everyone else for making us feel at home and for all of your help.
Added bonus: Fast internet! Free. Thank you.
Everything was great. Just a few small gripes:
- No welcome gift. Yes, I know, I know. There is a basket with cookies and coffee on one of the tables, that is part of the mini bar. You won’t know that unless you ask. It would be nice that they have a price list so people would know. Secondly, on this price range, I have always gotten at least a bottle of water for free on my room. A water bottle would be a very nice gift for tired, weary guests on the Cartagena blistering heat.
- Bathroom amenities. I have been in similarly priced hotels in Cartagena and they all had bathrobes and slippers and Loccitane bathroom products. I really would have loved a robe, but keep in mind I am a spoiled traveler, so it not a complain, but rather a suggestion. Their bathroom amenities looked very nice and luxurious , the soap was awesome, but the shampoo was very runny and the conditioner was not very conditioning. They looked very nice though.

Spacious room
Horrible pillows, worn bedsheets, super noisy room, all noise from the streets goes in. Disappointing breakfast, stale bread, terrible coffee (hard to do in Colombia). Certainly not worth $300+ a night. Would have been better off at Sofitel for a similar price and a true premium experience.

The room is a large and stylishly decorated. The location of the property is in the heart of the old town, you can literally step out the door and be in a bar or restaurant within 30 seconds. The rooftop swimming pool is also lovely with great views over the city.
Every evening you have to pick what you want for breakfast and a time for it to be served. For me it isn’t a luxury experience to have to get up for certain time everyday. They also serve the breakfast at the time you stated whether you’re there or not wrapped in clingfilm and just leave it in the courtyard which is not only a waste of plastic but again isn’t really a nice breakfast experience. Eggs and pancakes don’t really take long to make and would be soo much nicer if made it fresh when you’re sitting at the table. This might be something to do with the fact we weren’t in the loft suite, if they were bring it up to our room and we were eating at the table and chairs in the apartments maybe we’d feel differently about this. having said all that the kitchen staff were lovely. We’re staying in one of the two bed room suites, ours was tucked away at the rear of the property. Which meant we didn’t get lift access to the room and as we were travelling with a 10 month old baby it was a bit of extra work to get the buggy up and down the stairs. Another thing I wasn’t too keen on was there were quite a few mosquitoes buzzing around. we had stayed a couple of nights somewhere else which didn’t have any mosquitoes. Having said that we didn’t really get bitten.

Main receptionist James was really nice, I made some requests and he was very fast responding and very helpful. The bed was big, very comfortable, and AC worked really well. The hotel was located in the heart of old town, so it was perfect, there were so many nice cafes, bars and restaurants around. The rooftop view ( you can see sunrise in the morning) and pool was very nice. We had a cat traveling with us so we were glad they allow pets in the room with no extra charges.
This hotel is overall really nice and I hate to leave negative comment, and I normally travel in a camper so I don't have high standard either. I'm writing the honest opinion here to hopefully it helps to improve the qualities at its best.
Our room was in 4th floor on the roof top but because it was surrounded by concrete walls outside, Wifi did not work at all. In the morning the gardener waters plants around the room and it splashed our balcony and made the table and chairs all wet, plus there is no roof to create shades so we didn't get to enjoy the balcony, so it was hard to eat breakfast, we had to eat on the bed. It would be nice if there were table and seats available on rooftop so people can enjoy breakfast on the rooftop as well, not only pool chairs which are always wet to sit on. Bathroom is constructed in very weird way, the door gets on the way to go to the toilet. Shower pressure is really low, and sometimes not hot enough. Extra trash bin in the room would be nice. (There is only toilet trash bin)
Other room downstairs looked really nice and I think there would be no problems like we had. Unfortunately the room in the 4th floor did not meet our expectation for the price we paid.

loved the service given by Benjamin and Camila there service was excellent and the views from roof top and breakfast the balcony breakfast was wonderful
our room was ridiculously small no room for two and the room was alone on roof top area even though it was a great views you could tell
the room was made from a storage of some sorts and everyone came to that area to party the noise was ridiculous also no bathrooms in public area so you are forced to run up stairs to use rest room

location in the city center yet on a not so busy street - lovely reception and overall aspect of the building.
our room was on the last floor near the pool and although not as large as the other rooms (appartment like rooms), it was very nice and conveniantely located - seemed like the entire pool was ours:)
the pool is wonderful but rather small, not suitable for swimminc

Location and rooftop pool
It's not that it was a bad experience, but for an exceptional rating, I would expect quite a lot more. The construction of room 401 left a lot to be desired, it was simply poorly designed with a too small bathroom that was hard to maneuver in. The bed was uncomfortable, the water pressure poor, and the A/C unit noisy.
